A device for feeding parallelized fibres to the needles of a machine for knitting high pile fabric includes a plurality of spaced drafting rollers, a cord-clothed cylinder and a doffer roller. The drafting rollers 43-48 are loaded by springs 65 and are adjustable relative to each other and relative to the carding cylinder 19. Corrugations or teeth are formed in the rollers and the included angle of the teeth lies between 60 and 90 degrees. Clearance between the roller 48 and cylinder 19 may lie between “" and <SP>1</SP>/ 200 ". A rotary brush 67 covered with pig or synthetic bristles is mounted with clearance or to touch the roller 48 and cylinder 19.
