Description
The invention relates to vehicle bumpers comprising a bumper skin fixedly attached to a bumper frame.
Certain vehicles (generally of the automobile type) include at least one bumper comprising a bumper skin fixedly attached to a bumper frame (or support). Sometimes, this fixed connection is done by welding, generally by ultrasound, at predefined areas. More precisely, the bumper frame (or support) comprises a wall having in predefined locations convex zones each having a sub-part which is pressed against and welded to a corresponding zone of the bumper skin.
When such a bumper undergoes deformation in a part comprising a welded convex zone, for example during its assembly or a small impact with an object, the stresses induced by this deformation can reach this convex zone and break its welding. This can harm the impression of quality of the vehicle and/or give the impression of fragility of the vehicle. In addition, this can create an initial separation of the bumper skin from the bumper frame (or support), which can subsequently lead to a complete separation potentially dangerous for the vehicle and/or objects or people. located near the latter.
L’invention a donc notamment pour but d’améliorer la situation.The invention therefore aims in particular to improve the situation.
It offers in particular for this purpose a bumper suitable for equipping a vehicle and comprising a bumper skin and a bumper frame comprising convex zones each having a sub-part which is pressed against and welded to a corresponding zone bumper skin.
This bumper is characterized by the fact that at least one of the convex zones comprises at least one through hole which is capable of preventing stresses, induced by a deformation undergone locally by the bumper, from reaching its underside. -part in order to preserve the weld.
Thanks to the invention, the hole(s) passing through a convex zone constitute(s) a kind of protective barrier for its welding, and therefore allows(attempts) to locally release the stresses induced by a deformation in a part of the bumper frame containing this convex zone.
The bumper according to the invention may include other characteristics which can be taken separately or in combination, and in particular:
- chaque trou traversant peut avoir une forme et une orientation dans l’espace qui sont déterminées en fonction d’au moins une direction suivant laquelle s’exercent les contraintes ;- each through hole can have a shape and an orientation in space which are determined as a function of at least one direction in which the constraints are exerted;
- dans un premier mode de réalisation, la zone convexe peut avoir une forme générale rectangulaire avec deux grands côtés et deux petits côtés, et peut comprendre deux trous traversants définis respectivement à proximité de, et parallèlement à, ses deux grands côtés ;- in a first embodiment, the convex zone can have a generally rectangular shape with two long sides and two short sides, and can comprise two through holes defined respectively close to, and parallel to, its two long sides;
- dans un deuxième mode de réalisation, la zone convexe peut avoir une forme générale rectangulaire avec deux grands côtés et deux petits côtés, et peut comprendre deux trous traversants définis respectivement à proximité de, et parallèlement à, ses deux petits côtés.- in a second embodiment, the convex zone can have a generally rectangular shape with two long sides and two short sides, and can comprise two through holes defined respectively close to, and parallel to, its two short sides.
- dans un troisième mode de réalisation, la zone convexe peut avoir une forme générale rectangulaire avec deux grands côtés et deux petits côtés, et peut comprendre trois trous traversants communiquant entre eux et définis respectivement à proximité de, et parallèlement à, ses deux grands côtés et l’un de ses deux petits côtés ;- in a third embodiment, the convex zone can have a generally rectangular shape with two long sides and two short sides, and can comprise three through holes communicating with each other and defined respectively near, and parallel to, its two long sides and one of its two short sides;
- dans un quatrième mode de réalisation, la zone convexe peut avoir une forme générale rectangulaire avec deux grands côtés et deux petits côtés, et peut comprendre trois trous traversants communiquant entre eux et définis respectivement à proximité de, et parallèlement à, ses deux petits côtés et l’un de ses deux grands côtés.- in a fourth embodiment, the convex zone can have a generally rectangular shape with two long sides and two short sides, and can comprise three through holes communicating with each other and defined respectively close to, and parallel to, its two short sides and one of its two long sides.
The invention also proposes a vehicle comprising at least one bumper of the type presented above.
The vehicle according to the invention may include other characteristics which can be taken separately or in combination, and in particular:
- il peut comprendre une partie avant comportant le pare-chocs ;- it may include a front part comprising the bumper;
- il peut être de type automobile.- it can be of the automobile type.
D’autres caractéristiques et avantages de l’invention apparaîtront à l’examen de la description détaillée ci-après, et des dessins annexés (obtenus en CAO/DAO (« Conception Assistée par Ordinateur/Dessin Assisté par Ordinateur »)), sur lesquels :Other characteristics and advantages of the invention will appear on examination of the detailed description below, and of the appended drawings (obtained in CAD/CAD (“Computer Aided Design/Computer Aided Drawing”)), on which :
The invention aims in particular to propose a PC bumper intended to be part of a vehicle and comprising an AP bumper frame with protected weld(s).
In what follows, we consider, by way of non-limiting example, that the vehicle is of the automobile type. This is for example a car. But the invention is not limited to this type of vehicle. It concerns any vehicle comprising at least one bumper having a bumper skin fixedly secured by welding to a bumper frame.
Furthermore, we consider in what follows, by way of non-limiting example, that the PC bumper is intended to equip a front part of a vehicle (possibly within the front facade). But the PC bumper could equip a rear part of a vehicle.
We have schematically illustrated at least partially in Figures 1 to 3 a part of an exemplary embodiment of a PC bumper according to the invention, before it equips a part (here front) of a vehicle .
The cavity resulting from the convexity is here oriented towards the corresponding ZP zone, in order to allow the two facing walls to be linked by welding (for example by ultrasound).
At least one of these convex zones ZC comprises at least one through hole TT which is capable of preventing stresses, induced by a deformation undergone locally by the bumper PC, from reaching its sub-part SP in order to preserve the welding which joins the latter (SP) to the corresponding zone ZP of the PP bumper skin.
It will be understood that the through hole(s) TT of a convex zone ZC constitute(s) a kind of protective barrier for the weld that it partially surrounds, and therefore allows (attempt) advantageously to locally release the stresses induced by a deformation in a part of the bumper reinforcement AP containing this convex zone ZC. Consequently, in the presence of deformation there is no longer any risk that it will harm the impression of quality of the vehicle and/or that it will give the impression of fragility of the vehicle. In addition, there is no longer any risk that the deformation will create the beginning of separation of the PP bumper skin from the AP bumper frame, which makes it possible to reinforce the safety of the vehicle and the objects or people located near the latter.
It should also be noted that each through hole TT can have a shape and an orientation in space which are determined as a function of at least one direction in which the stresses induced by a local deformation are exerted. This determination can be made empirically or through computer simulations. It will also be noted that when the bumper reinforcement AP comprises convex zones ZC with through hole(s) TT the shapes and orientations in space of the latter(s) (TT) may possibly be vary from one convex zone ZC to another. This depends in fact on the respective directions of the deformation constraints that each convex zone ZC may be required to undergo.
For example, and as illustrated without limitation in Figures 1, 2 and 4 to 6, each convex zone ZC with through hole(s) TT can have a general rectangular shape with two long sides and two short sides. In this case, and as illustrated without limitation in Figures 1 and 2, each convex zone ZC with through hole(s) TT can, for example, comprise two through holes TT defined respectively close to, and parallel to, its two long sides.
