Abstract
Description
La face avant 12 est adaptée pour être fixée à l'avant d'une structure (non représentée) d'un véhicule automobile. intended to be applied to the back of a motor vehicle bumper skin to reinforce it. EP 1 623 879 A1 discloses a front block assembly comprising means for reinforcing a bumper skin in the form of a reinforcing beam extending between two optical block fixing brackets and serving as support to an upper edge of the bumper skin. However, such a reinforcement is not sufficient on some vehicles with more enveloping bumper skins. In addition, it is desirable that the bumper skin can fit without stress or deformation with the surrounding bodywork elements, such as optical blocks, fenders or hood of the vehicle, so that perceived quality is high. . It is an object of the invention to provide a front block assembly which has reinforcing means adapted for wraparound bumper skins, while allowing an adjustment of the bumper skin when assembled on the front face. . For this purpose, the subject of the invention is a reinforcing liner panel intended to be applied to the back of a motor vehicle bumper skin to reinforce it, characterized in that it is in one piece and comprises at least a first portion and a second reinforcing portion interconnected by a connecting zone of the flexibility panel greater than that of the first portion and the second portion. The panel according to the invention may comprise one or more of the following features: the connection zone is formed by a notch formed on one edge of the panel; - It comprises a connecting tongue spanning the notch to connect the second part to the first part; The connecting tongue has a thickness which is smaller than the thickness of the first part and the second part which it connects; the connection zone comprises a film hinge; and the first and second portions comprise a central portion for reinforcing a region of the bumper skin between optical blocks, and side reinforcing portions of bumper skin areas defining a receiving space therebetween. an optical block, each lateral part being connected by a connecting zone to the central part. The invention also relates to a front block assembly for a motor vehicle, comprising: a front face intended to be fixed to the front of a motor vehicle structure; two optical block fixing brackets fixed on the front face and distant from each other; and 10 - a bumper skin covering the front face, characterized in that it further comprises a panel as described above for reinforcing at least an upper portion of the bumper skin. The front block assembly according to the invention may include the feature that the first portion of the panel extends between the optical block attaching brackets, the panel having second portions provided for reinforcing areas of the bumper skin. -choc intended to border optical blocks. The invention also relates to a motor vehicle, characterized in that it comprises a front block assembly as described above. The invention will be better understood on reading the description which follows, given solely by way of example and with reference to the appended drawings, in which: FIG. 1 is a diagrammatic perspective exploded view of a front block assembly for a motor vehicle according to the invention; Figure 2 is a view illustrating in detail a reinforcing liner panel of the front block assembly of Figure 1; and FIG. 3 is a view showing the section along the line III-III of FIG. 2. FIG. 1 illustrates a front vehicle block assembly 10 according to the invention. In all that follows, the terms front, rear, longitudinal, transverse, lateral, upper and lower are understood by reference to the usual orthogonal reference frame of the motor vehicles illustrated in FIG. 1, and comprising: a longitudinal axis XX, directed from the back to the front; - a transverse axis Y-Y, oriented from right to left; and - a vertical axis Z-Z, oriented from bottom to top. The assembly 10 comprises a front face 12, two optical block fixing brackets 14, a bumper skin 16, and a panel 18 forming a reinforcing lining of the bumper skin 16. The front face 12, essentially rigid and having the general shape of a frame, comprises an upper cross member, a lower cross member 22, the two crosspieces 20, 22 being substantially horizontal, and two uprights 24 extending substantially vertically between the crosspieces 20, 22. The crosspiece 20 has end portions 25 extending laterally outwardly of the frame and rearwardly. The front face 12 is adapted to be fixed to the front of a structure (not shown) of a motor vehicle.
For this purpose, the uprights 24 are for example connected, substantially at mid-height, to lower longitudinal members of the structure, and the end portions 25 are connected to upper longitudinal members of the structure. The supports 14 are fixed on each side of the front face 12, at a distance from each other. Each support 14 is fixed on a respective amount 24.
Each support 14 comprises a beam 28 having an end 26 fixed to the corresponding upright 24, substantially at mid-height, and extending horizontally, laterally outwardly and rearwardly from the corresponding upright 24. The beam 28 of each support 14 is intended to support an optical block 30, only one of the optical blocks being shown in FIG. 1. Each optical block 30 is intended to be received substantially between the corresponding beam 28 and the adjacent portion 25. The bumper skin 16 is designed to cover the front face 12 along its entire width.
The bumper skin 16 is made for example of a single piece of plastic material, and obtained by injection molding. The bumper skin 16 is provided on each side with a recess 32 of shape complementary to that of a portion of the corresponding optical block 30 and adapted to receive it.
The panel 18 is adapted to be applied to the rear surface (at the back) of an upper portion 34 of the bumper skin 16 extending between the recesses 32. The panel 18 is distinct from the block fixing brackets 14 optical.
The panel 18 is integral and comprises an elongated central portion 36 intended to be applied on the zone of the portion 34 situated between the recesses 32 so that, when the skin 16 and the panel 18 are assembled to the front face 12, the central portion 36 extends between the supports 14. The panel 18 comprises, at each end, two lateral portions 38 extending the central portion 36 laterally outward, provided to reinforce the bumper skin 16 in areas 40 bordering the adjacent recess 32 and dashed in FIG. 1. An upper side portion 38 reinforces an area 40 extending above the optical block 30, and the other lower side portion 38 reinforces an area 40 located in the area below the recess 32. Each lateral portion 38 is connected to the central portion 36 by a connecting zone 42 of the panel 18 which has a greater flexibility than that of the central portion 36 and the portion la 38 corresponding. As best seen in FIG. 2, each connecting zone 42 is formed by a notch 44 formed on an edge 46 of the panel 18 for flanking the optical blocks 30, between the central portion 36 and the corresponding lateral portion 38. Each notch 44 is associated with a connecting tongue 48 connecting the corresponding lateral portion 38 and the central portion 36, and straddling the notch 44. The connecting tongues 48 are integral with the panel 18 and have a thickness e plus weak as the thickness E of the central portion 36 and the side portions 38 that they connect (see Figure 3). The panel 18 is made in one piece, for example of plastic material, and obtained by injection molding. In known manner, the panel 18 comprises, on its central portion 36, stiffening reliefs.
For the mounting of the front face, the panel 18 is fixed on the bumper skin 16 by clipping the central portion 36 of the panel 18 along the upper edge of the upper portion 34 of the skin 16. A spot weld is also provided between the side portions 38 of the panel 18 and the zones 40 of the skin 16, generally around the periphery of the recesses 32. The optical blocks 30 are fixed on the beams 28 and on the wings (not shown) of the vehicle. The skin assembly 16 / panel 18 is fixed on the front face 12 and on the optical blocks 30, for example at the ends 50 of the skin 16. The notches 44 and the connecting tabs 48 confer a certain localized flexibility to the skin. panel 18, thus making it possible to limit the assembly constraints between the bumper skin 16 and the panel 18, to limit the deformations of the bumper skin 16 and to adjust the bumper skin 16 during its assembly on the front face 12. The connecting zone 42 of each upper lateral portion 38 allows a bending movement of the associated lateral portion 38 substantially in a plane defined by the axes YY and ZZ as illustrated by the arrow FI, while the connecting zone 42 of each lower lateral portion 38 allows a bending movement 20 of the associated lateral portion 38 substantially in a plane defined by the axes XX and YY as illustrated by the arrow F2. The flexibility imparted to the side portions 38 of the panel 18 allows movement of the areas 40 of the skin 16 relative to the optical blocks 30 to adjust the clearances between the edges of the skin 16 for tying the optical blocks 30 and the latter , thus improving the cohesion of the different elements composing the front block assembly 10 according to the invention. The connecting tongues 48 make it possible to obtain a good flexibility / stiffness compromise for each connection zone 42 of the panel 18. Thanks to the panel 18, the rigidity of the bumper skin 16 is increased, in particular in the case of a vertical stress resulting for example from the support of a person on the front part of the vehicle. This improves the perceived quality of the vehicle.
The panel 18 also strengthens the skin 16 during a shock with a pedestrian, and better dampens such a shock to limit the injury of the pedestrian. In a variant, each connecting zone 42 is made in the form of a film hinge. The flexibility of the lateral parts of the panel 18, provided by each connecting zone 42, allows during assembly of the assembly 10 on the vehicle structure, to obtain a slight deformation of these lateral parts, and a quality of assembly and an optimal aesthetics of the front of the vehicle, 10 constant in time and without additional recovery and adjustment operations subsequent to the assembly of the vehicle. The panel according to the invention therefore makes it possible to stiffen the enveloping bumper skins, while avoiding inducing assembly constraints in the bumper skin and by allowing an adjustment of the bumper skin during of its assembly on the front face.
