Abstract

Storage set Technical field of the invention

The present invention relates to a storage assembly.

The invention relates more particularly to a storage assembly intended to receive a plurality of hand grenades.

Technical background

Police or law enforcement officers are sometimes equipped with hand grenades, or lever-triggered explosive devices, intended for use during interventions, for example to create a cloud of smoke or to produce a detonation deafening.

These hand grenades generally comprise a cylindrical housing of generally cylindrical section on which is mounted a pivoting lever capable of triggering an explosive charge contained in the housing. The pivoting lever, which may be referred to as a "spoon", is held in the inactive position by a suitable pin. It is therefore necessary to remove the pin before activating the lever to allow the use of the hand grenade.

When we mention that these hand grenades have a cylindrical casing, this also concerns hand grenades which have a generally ovoid shape whose external diameter is defined by a generally circular section.

There are different types of hand grenades. For example, a first type is intended to diffuse a cloud of smoke and a second type is intended to produce a deafening detonation. Of course, other types of hand grenades can be provided.

Currently, when an agent is on intervention, he carries several grenades of different types in a bag that can be attached to a belt.

A disadvantage of this system is that it creates a risk of error when handling a hand grenade before use. Indeed, in an emergency, the officer may grab the wrong type of hand grenade. There may therefore be a significant loss of time if he has to put the hand grenade back in the bag to grab another model of hand grenade.

In addition, hand grenades can collide in the bag and make noise, or become intertwined and risk unintentional unpinning, or be found in random positions which do not allow rapid handling and access. quickly to the actuation lever.

The present invention aims in particular to remedy the drawbacks mentioned above.

The invention proposes a storage assembly designed to receive a plurality of hand grenades, the storage assembly comprising a main body provided with at least two contiguous housings each capable of receiving a hand grenade, each housing comprising a wall generally axial which opens into an upper face of the main body through a main opening allowing the insertion of the hand grenade into the housing and its withdrawal, characterized in that each housing has a lateral notch which extends axially from the main opening and which opens into a side face of the main body, the side notches of two contiguous housings being arranged on opposite side faces of the main body, each side notch being capable of receiving at least part of the trigger lever of the hand grenade when she is received in said accommodation.

Thanks to the storage assembly according to the invention, the comfort of use for agents using hand grenades is greatly improved. Indeed, the storage assembly allows precise positioning of hand grenades with a predefined orientation. The agent, when preparing an intervention, can choose in advance to position several hand grenades in a predefined order depending on the type of hand grenade chosen.

The storage assembly according to the invention makes it possible to place the trigger levers of each adjacent hand grenade in opposite positions, thus avoiding handling errors or two levers getting caught between them.

The storage set can be placed in a suitable bag or attached directly to a belt or to an accessory such as a ballistic protection shield used by agents.

According to other characteristics of the invention:

- the storage assembly comprises at least one adapter of generally cylindrical shape with a "C" profile capable of being inserted axially into a housing, through its main opening, to reduce the internal diameter, the opening of the "C" being arranged opposite the lateral notch of the associated housing;

- the external diameter of the adapter at rest, that is to say before its insertion into a housing, is greater than the internal diameter of said housing, so that it is retained axially in said housing by an elastic radial force of return of the walls of the adapter towards its resting state;

- each end of the "C" is provided with at least one gripping element capable of allowing, by pinching the ends, an elastic deformation of the adapter towards the inside facilitating the axial insertion of the adapter into a housing and its axial extraction;

- each gripping element is constituted by an extension of the main axial wall of the adapter, the two gripping elements of the adapter extending through the lateral notch of the associated housing when the adapter is mounted in said accommodation ;

- the two gripping elements are formed of two substantially parallel extensions;

- each lateral notch is delimited on one side by an axial bead with a rounded profile and on the other side by a portion of rounded external axial wall belonging to a contiguous housing;

- each housing is closed at its lower axial end by a bottom wall;

- the main body is made in one piece, for example by injection of plastic material.

Detailed description of the invention

For the description of the invention and the understanding of the claims, we will adopt on a non-limiting basis and without limiting reference to terrestrial gravity the vertical, longitudinal and transverse orientations according to the reference V, L, T indicated in the figures whose longitudinal axes L and transverse T extend in a horizontal plane. By convention, the longitudinal direction L is oriented from left to right when considering the figures.

In the description which follows, identical, similar or analogous elements will be designated by the same reference numerals.

Figures 1 to 4 illustrate a storage assembly 10 in accordance with the teachings of the invention intended to receive a plurality of hand grenades G1, G2.

Examples of G1 hand grenades of a first type and G2 hand grenades of a second type are shown in Figures 3 and 4. Each hand grenade G1, G2 comprises a cylindrical body 12, or generally cylindrical, a trigger lever 14, or spoon, which extends to the side of the cylindrical body 12 in the inactive position, and a safety pin 16 provided to lock the trigger lever 14 in the inactive position.

For example, the G1 hand grenade of the first type is distinguished from the G2 hand grenade of the second type by a different format, here an outer diameter less than the outer diameter of the G2 hand grenade of the second type. Of course, the invention can be applied to more than two types of hand grenades G1, G2, having for example different heights or diameters from the hand grenades of the first type G1 and the hand grenades of the second type G2. Note that the storage assembly 10 according to the invention can also allow, if necessary, to store only G1, G2 hand grenades of the same type, here four.

According to the embodiment shown, the storage assembly 10 comprises four housings 18 allowing the storage of four hand grenades G1, G2 next to each other. Of course, this embodiment is not limiting and the teachings of the invention also apply to a storage assembly 10 comprising two, or three, or more than four housings 18.

The storage assembly 10 comprises a main body 20 in which the housings 18 are formed. Each housing 18 comprises an axial wall 22, along an axis A1 oriented here vertically, which opens into an upper face 24 of the main body 20 through an opening main 26.

The internal diameter Di of each housing 18 is provided here to receive in a complementary manner the cylindrical body 12 of a G2 hand grenade of the second type, that is to say a G2 hand grenade whose external diameter is slightly smaller to the internal diameter Di of the housing 18. The main opening 26 therefore allows axial insertion and axial withdrawal of the G2 hand grenade from above.

The main body 20 here comprises a bottom wall 28 which closes each housing 18, on the side opposite the main opening 26, and which thus makes it possible to retain the associated hand grenade G1, G2 axially downwards.

Advantageously, each housing 18 comprises a lateral notch 30 which extends axially from the main opening 26 and which opens into a lateral face 32, 34 of the main body 20. According to the embodiment shown, each lateral notch 30 extends over the entire height of the associated housing 12.

The lateral notch 30 is configured so as to receive at least part of the trigger lever 14 fitted to the hand grenade G1, G2 when it is placed in said housing 18. Thus, when the hand grenade G1, G2 is placed in the housing 18, the trigger lever 14 extends radially outside the housing 18 through the lateral notch 30. This makes it possible in particular to block the rotation of the hand grenade G1, G2 around its main axis A1, since the edges of the trigger lever 14 abut against the edges of the lateral notch 30.

Of course, according to an alternative embodiment (not shown), the lateral notch 30 could extend over only part of the height of the housing 18, sufficiently to allow the trigger lever 14 to be received.

Advantageously, the four housings 18 are here arranged contiguously along a median longitudinal axis B1, and the lateral notches 30 of two contiguous housings 18 are arranged on opposite side faces 32, 34 of the main body 20. Thus, in considering the view of the from left to right, the storage assembly 10 comprises:

- a first housing 18, on the far left, the side notch 30 of which opens onto a first side face 32 of the main body 20,

- a second housing 18, adjacent to the first, the side notch 30 of which opens onto a second side face 34 of the main body 20,

- a third housing 18, adjacent to the second, the side notch 30 of which opens onto the first side face 32, and

- a fourth housing 18, on the far right, whose side notch 30 opens onto the second side face 34.

Advantageously, according to the embodiment shown, each housing 18 has its main axis A1 offset radially relative to the median longitudinal axis B1, towards the lateral face 32, 34 opposite its lateral notch 30. The contiguous housings 18 are thus offset alternately on one side and the other of the median longitudinal axis B1. Considering for example the , from left to right, we see that the first housing 18 at the extreme left is offset radially towards the second side face 34, and the second housing 18 is offset radially towards the first side face 32. This arrangement of the housings 18 with radial offset maximizes the compactness of the storage assembly 10.

Advantageously, each lateral notch 30 opens into the associated housing 18 via an internal opening 36 whose general plane P1 is inclined relative to the adjacent lateral face 32, 34, for example with an angle of inclination a1 of between 30 and 60 degrees. The configuration of the lateral notches 30 thus allows positioning of each hand grenade G1, G2 with an angular offset of the associated trigger lever 14, relative to a transverse vertical plane passing through the main axis A1 of the associated housing 18. This arrangement also makes it possible to maximize the compactness of the storage set 10.

Each side notch 30 forms an intermediate space 38, between the internal opening 36 and the adjacent side wall 32, 34, capable of housing the trigger lever 14 of the associated hand grenade G1, G2.

According to the embodiment shown here, the general planes P1 of all the internal openings 36 are parallel.

Each lateral notch 30 is here delimited on one side by an axial bead 40 of rounded profile and on the other side by a portion of rounded external axial wall 42 belonging to a contiguous housing 18.

We also note that the main body 20 ends at each longitudinal end with a convex cylindrical wall 44 which corresponds to a portion of the external axial wall of the two housings 18 located at the longitudinal ends.

The particular shape of the main body 20 and the side notches 30 makes it possible to optimize the storage of hand grenades G1, G2 by minimizing the bulk of the storage assembly 10. This is particularly compact and can easily be placed in a bag 45 of suitable size such as that which is illustrated in dotted lines on the .

The rounded shapes of the external walls of the main body 20, in particular at the longitudinal ends, facilitate handling and ergonomics when handling the storage assembly 10, with or without G1, G2 hand grenades.

According to an advantageous embodiment, the storage assembly 10 can be equipped with at least one adapter 46 of generally cylindrical shape with a “C” profile, or omega profile. This adapter 46 is able to be inserted axially into a housing 18, through its main opening 26, to reduce the internal diameter Di. The opening of the “C” is substantially aligned with the lateral notch 30 of the associated housing 18, again to allow the positioning of the trigger lever 14.

Preferably, the external diameter De of the adapter 46 at rest, that is to say before its insertion into the housing 18, is slightly greater than the internal diameter Di of said housing 18. This allows the adapter 46 to be retained axially in the housing 18 by an elastic radial force returning the walls of the adapter 46 to its resting state. Thus the adapter 46 is slightly larger than the housing 18 which requires deforming it to insert it into the housing 18, and which allows retention by adhesion of the adapter 46 against the axial walls 22 of the housing 18.

Advantageously, each end of the "C" is provided with at least one gripping element 48 capable of allowing, by pinching the ends, an elastic deformation of the adapter 46 towards the inside facilitating the axial insertion of the adapter 46 in housing 18, as well as its axial extraction.

Preferably, each gripping element 48 is constituted by an extension of the main axial wall of the adapter 46, the two gripping elements of the adapter 46 extending through the lateral notch 30 of the associated housing 18 when the adapter 46 is mounted in said housing 18, as illustrated in particular by Figures 1 and 2. Each gripping element 48 therefore has the shape of a plate or pallet, here of the same axial height as the adapter 46.

In the embodiment shown here, the two gripping elements 48 are formed of two substantially parallel extensions.

Advantageously, one of the extensions is longer than the other, without it extending beyond the side face 32, 34 of the main body 20, so that it is easy to grasp the gripping elements 48 , the extensions being slightly offset from the adjacent walls of the main body 20. Thus, the end edges 50 of each gripping element 48 are here substantially flush with the associated side faces 32, 34. It is advantageous that the gripping elements 48 do not extend beyond the main body 20 to maintain the compactness of the storage assembly 10.

Advantageously, the end edges 50 have sharp angles to facilitate gripping of the gripping elements 48.

To insert the adapter 46 through the main opening 26 into a housing 18, or to extract it from said housing 18, it is sufficient to grasp the adapter 46 with the fingers by the gripping elements 48, to exert pressure or pinching tending to bring the two gripping elements 48 closer to each other, which makes it possible to temporarily reduce the external diameter De of the adapter 46, by elastic deformation of the adapter 46.

The adapter 46 is here provided to allow the storage of a G1 hand grenade of the first type in the associated housing 18, by reducing the internal diameter of the housing 18 to better hold the G1 hand grenade. In the example shown, the adapter 46 present in a housing 18 prevents the axial insertion of a G2 hand grenade of the second type since the latter has an external diameter between the internal diameter Di of the housing 18 and the diameter external diameter of the adapter 46. The external diameter of the G1 hand grenade of the first type is here lower, preferably slightly lower, than the internal diameter of the adapter 46 in the inserted position in the housing 18.

Advantageously, the main body 20 is made in one piece, for example by injection of plastic material. We can choose a plastic material with a roughness or a coating making it possible to absorb the impacts of the hand grenades G1, G2 against the internal walls of the housings 18. Such a rough material can also make it possible to retain an adapter 46 in its housing 18 without that it is necessary to apply an elastic restoring force.

Advantageously, the dimensions of the housings 18 and the adapter 46 are selected so as to adapt to the dimensions of the most commonly used G1, G2 hand grenades. Of course, it would be possible to provide, for example, several types of adapter 46, with different radial thicknesses, if it is necessary to adapt to different dimensions of G1, G2 hand grenades. It is also possible to use G1, G2 hand grenades of different diameters with the same adapter 46, even if their external diameter is different and leaves a different radial space with the interior of the adapter 46.

Of course the invention applies to hand grenades having a main body of ovoid shape, or in another form of revolution, which defines an external diameter capable of being received in one of the housings 18 or in the adapter 46.

In the present description, for the sake of clarity, the storage assembly 10 has been described in a general vertical position. Of course, the invention also works if the storage assembly 10 occupies positions not aligned with the vertical, in particular if it is lying down.

Claims (9)

Storage assembly (10) intended to receive a plurality of hand grenades (G1, G2), the storage assembly (10) comprising a main body (20) provided with at least two contiguous housings (18) capable of receiving each a hand grenade (G1, G2), each housing (18) comprising a generally axial wall (22) which opens into an upper face (24) of the main body (20) through a main opening (26) allowing insertion of the hand grenade (G1, G2) in the housing (18) and its removal, characterized in that each housing (18) has a lateral notch (30) which extends axially from the main opening (26) and which opens into a side face (32, 34) of the main body (20), the side notches (30) of two contiguous housings (18) being arranged on opposite side faces (32, 34) of the main body (20), each lateral notch (30) being able to receive at least part of the trigger lever (14) of the hand grenade (G1, G2) when it is received in said housing (18).
