Description

Household appliance including a carrying strap.

The present invention relates to the field of household appliances comprising a body comprising a transport strap, the strap comprising a first end fixed on a first side of the body and a second end fixed on a second side of the body and capable of occupying a deployed position in which the strap extends away from the body to be placed on a shoulder to allow the transport of the device.

State of the art

It is known, from document EP 3 094 773, a household appliance comprising a base comprising a transport strap, the strap comprising a first end fixed on a first side of the base and a second end fixed on a second side of the base, the strap being able to occupy a deployed position in which the strap extends away from the base to be placed on a shoulder to allow the transport of the device.

However, such a strap has the disadvantage of hanging at the edge of the device when it is not used for transporting the device. Thus, there is a risk that this strap will be inadvertently snagged by the user when it is not used to transport the device, which could cause the device to fall and be damaged.

The present invention aims to remedy all or part of these drawbacks.

For this purpose, the subject of the invention is a household appliance comprising a body comprising a transport strap, the strap comprising a first end fixed on a first side of the body and a second end fixed on a second side of the body, the strap being able to occupy a deployed position in which the strap extends away from the body to be placed on a shoulder in order to allow the transport of the device, characterized in that the body comprises a device for maintaining the strap in a position of storage in which the strap extends along the body.

Such a feature allows the strap to be stored in a position in which the risk of snagging is eliminated.

The device may also have one or more of the following characteristics, taken alone or in combination.

According to an advantageous characteristic of the invention, the body comprises a guide element disposed on the first side of the body, the strap being able to slide under the guide element to be brought into the storage position.

According to an advantageous characteristic of the invention, in the storage position, the strap comprises a first part extending along the body, between the second end and the guide element, passing under the guide element, and has a second loop portion extending between the first end and the guide member, which is folded along the body over the guide member.

Such a feature makes it possible to reduce the length of the strap in the storage position.

According to an advantageous characteristic of the invention, in the storage position, the second part of the strap is arranged over the first part of the strap.

Such a feature makes it possible to optimize the size of the strap in the storage position by superimposing the two parts of the strap.

According to an advantageous characteristic of the invention, the first end and second end of the strap are fixed on two opposite sides of the body.

Such a feature makes carrying the device using the strap more comfortable.

According to an advantageous characteristic of the invention, the guide element and the first end of the strap are arranged on the same side of the body.

According to an advantageous characteristic of the invention, the body comprises a second guide element advantageously disposed on a side of the body opposite to that receiving the first guide element.

According to an advantageous characteristic of the invention, the body comprises a carrying handle, the first end and the second end of the strap being arranged on either side of the carrying handle.

Such a characteristic makes it possible to optimize the ergonomics of use of the device.

According to an advantageous characteristic of the invention, in the storage position, the strap extends along the carrying handle and passes over the latter.

According to an advantageous characteristic of the invention, the body comprises a receiving groove in which the strap is placed in the storage position, this receiving groove advantageously extending along the carrying handle.

There and the represent an ironing appliance conventionally comprising an iron 1 and a portable base 2 connected together by a cord 3, partially illustrated in these figures, the base 2 being electrically connected to a domestic network by a cable, not visible in the figures .

The base 2 contains, in a manner known per se, a tank 20 provided with a filling hatch 21 and a pump, not visible in the figures; which draws water from the tank 20 to send it through a pipe integrated into the cord 3, towards the iron 1.

In accordance with the , the iron 1 comprises a flat sole 10, surmounted by a body 11 and comprises a gripping handle 12 comprising a front end attached to the body 11 and a free rear end projecting laterally from the body 11, the handle 12 being arranged cantilever relative to the sole 10.

The body 11 contains in a manner known per se a foundry, not visible in the figures, which is in thermal contact with the sole 10 and which comprises a heating resistor, regulated by means of a thermostat, advantageously non-adjustable, making it possible to maintain the temperature of the sole 10 around a set temperature of around 135°C.

The foundry is preferably made of aluminum and includes an instantaneous vaporization chamber into which water from the reservoir 20 is injected by the pump, the operation of the pump being controlled by a trigger 13 placed under the front end of the handle 12. The pump and the vaporization chamber are advantageously sized to allow the production of a steam flow rate of around 25 gr/min continuously when the trigger 13 is actuated.

The steam produced by the vaporization chamber is diffused through steam outlet holes 14 provided on a flat ironing surface of the soleplate 10, the latter conventionally comprising a pointed front end 10A and a rounded rear end 10B.

In accordance with the , the cord 3 exits the iron 1 through an opening provided on an upper surface of the handle 12 and is equipped with a cord guide device 4 which maintains the cord 3 in a direction inclined towards the rear of the handle 12. The rear end of the handle 12 advantageously has a beveled shape comprising a flat rear surface 12A forming, with the plane of the sole 10, a V which has an obtuse angle α of the order of 145°.

In accordance with the , the base 2 has, in profile view, a general oval shape and has a potbellied end comprising a first series of feet 22A, 22B, 22C, called main feet, on which the base 2 can rest stably in a vertical position, illustrated on the , and a tapered end, of narrower width, equipped with a carrying handle 23. For example, the base 2 has a width of between 18 and 25 cm at the level of its potbellied end and a width of between 5 and 15 cm at its tapered end.

The base 2 has a rear face, substantially flat comprising a second series of feet 24A, 24B, 24C, called lateral feet, advantageously made of elastomer, on which it can rest stably in a horizontal position, illustrated in the .

Base 2 also has a front face, visible on the , comprising a storage cavity 25 in which the iron 1 can be placed during inactive ironing phases and for its storage.

This storage cavity 25 has a bottom consisting of a front plane and a rear plane arranged in a V, the front plane comprising protruding pads 26 on which the sole 10 of the iron 1 rests and the rear plane having a surface of support 25A on which the rear surface 12A of the handle 12 rests. Preferably, the support surface 25A has an inclination adapted so that the rear surface 12A of the handle 12 extends parallel to the support surface 25A when the sole 10 rests against the shoes 26.

According to a particular embodiment, the support surface 25A and the end of the handle 12 of the iron 1 are mutually attracted towards each other by magnetic attraction. For this purpose, the support surface 25A may include a magnet 27 which cooperates with a ferromagnetic material, such as a metal plate 12B, placed on the rear surface 12A of the handle 12.

Preferably, the magnet 27 is dimensioned to exert sufficient force to hold the rear end of the handle 12 in position against the bottom of the cavity 25 during transport of the base 2 but without however generating a lifting of the base 2 when the user pulls on the handle 12 to extract the iron 1 from its storage cavity 25. Thus, during ironing work, the user can extract the iron 1 from the storage cavity 25 without causing a lifting of the base 2, whether the latter rests in the horizontal position or in the vertical position.

In accordance with the , the storage cavity 25 comprises a peripheral wall 25B which matches the shape of the front end and the side edges of the sole 10 of the iron 1. This peripheral wall 25B advantageously extends along the edge of the front plane of the iron storage cavity 25 so as to laterally guide the front end of the iron 1 in the storage cavity 25. Preferably, the peripheral wall 25B laterally covers the body 11 to a height of less than 5 cm when the iron 1 is arranged in the storage cavity 25 so as to facilitate the installation and extraction of the iron 1.

In the particular embodiment illustrated in the figures, the front plane of the storage cavity 25 and the peripheral wall 25B have a pointed end which projects from the base 2, this pointed end supporting one of the main feet 22A, 22B, 22C, the other two main feet being supported by two wings 20A, 20B which project from the rear face of the base 2.

In accordance with the , the carrying handle 23 has an inverted U-shaped body which has a first end 23A which extends from a first side face of the base 2 and a second end 23B which extends from a second side face, opposite to the first side face of the base 2. The first side face of the base 2 comprises, in the extension of the carrying handle 23, a storage sheath 28 in which the cord 3 connecting the base to the iron 1, can be inserted by being folded in the form of a loop.

The base 2 also includes a strap 5, visible in Figures 3 and 4, which comprises a first end 5A fixed in the vicinity of the first end 23A of the carrying handle 23 and a second end 5B held on the second side face of the base 2, at a point located in the extension of the carrying handle 23, preferably at a distance from the latter.

In accordance with Figures 5 and 6, the base 2 comprises a groove 29 for receiving the strap 5 which extends along the first and second lateral faces of the base 2 and along the carrying handle 23. The first end 5A of the strap 5 is fixed to a first end of the groove 29, visible in Figures 4 and 7, arranged at the foot of the transport handle 23 and the second end of the strap 5B is advantageously held at a second end of the groove 29 placed in the center of the potbellied end of base 2.

The base 2 comprises a first guide bridge 29A arranged on the side of the carrying handle 23, in the vicinity of the first end 5A of the strap 5, and a second guide bridge 29B arranged symmetrically on the other side of the handle transport 23. The first and second guide bridges 29A, 29B extend transversely to the groove 29 and above the latter, strap 5 passing under the first and second guide bridges 29A, 29B when it is in a deployed position as shown in Figures 7 and 8.

This deployed position of the strap 5 allows the user to transport the device by placing the strap 5 on his shoulder, the strap 5 then being stretched, by the weight of the device, between the first 5A and second 5B ends of the strap 5.

Preferentially, and as illustrated on the , the strap 5 is equipped with a device allowing adjustment of the length of the loop formed by the strap 5 in the deployed position.

This device comprises, in a manner known per se, an adjustment buckle 6 which can be slid manually along the strap 5, the strap 5 being able to slide around an axis 29C disposed at the second end of the groove 29 and comprising one end fixed to a central bar 6A of the adjustment loop 6.

Thus, the strap 5 is not rigidly fixed to the second end of the groove 29 but can slide around the axis 29C when the adjustment buckle 6 is moved along the strap 5, such movement of the adjustment buckle adjustment 6 allowing the length of the loop formed by the strap 5 to be varied in the deployed position.

When the strap 5 is not used for transporting the device, it can be arranged in a storage position illustrated in particular in Figures 1 to 3, in which the strap 5 extends in the groove 29, along of the carrying handle 23 and the side of the base 2.

In accordance with Figures 7 and 8, the device comprises a tongue 7 having a gripping part 71 which extends above the strap 5 and a bar 72 which passes under the strap 5 and can slide along the latter, the strap 5 passing through an opening 70 provided between the gripping part 71 and the bar 72.

This tongue 7 is arranged between the first end 5A of the strap 5 and the first guide bridge 29A. Thus, when the user wishes to bring the strap 5 into the storage position, he grasps the tongue 7 and exerts vertical traction on the latter so as to slide the strap 5 under the first guide bridge 29A until the strap 5 is stretched in the groove 29, as illustrated in the . This then results in a part of the strap 5 which forms a loop which extends between the first end 5A of the strap 5, the tongue 7 and the first guide bridge 29A. This part of the strap 5 can then be folded down along the base 2, while exerting tension on the strap 5 using the tongue 7, to bring the latter to the vicinity of the second end 5B of the strap 5, as illustrated in Figures 1 to 3. The tongue 7 is then immobilized by wedging the latter in the groove 29, in order to maintain the strap 5 in the storage position.

The device thus produced has the advantage of providing improved ergonomics of use.

Indeed, the base 2 of such a device has the advantage of being able to be placed in two stable positions. A first working position corresponding to the vertical position, illustrated in particular on the in which the base rests stably on its three main feet 22A, 22B, 22C and a second position corresponding to the horizontal position, illustrated on the in which the base rests stably on its three lateral feet 24A, 24B, 24C. Thus, when using the device or for storage, the user can decide to place the base in the position that suits them best. In particular, the integration of the foot 22C on a projecting part of the base 2 delimiting the storage cavity 25 makes it possible to increase the stability of the base 2, by moving the foot 22C away from the two feet 22A and 22B, while limiting the volume and size of the base 2.

In addition, the device thus produced has the advantage of having a shallow storage cavity 25, and open on the front face of the base 1, offering easy installation and extraction of the iron 1 while ensuring stable and effective maintenance of the iron 1 when transporting the base 2 by the transport handle 23 or by the strap 5.

The carrying handle 23 also makes it possible to easily tilt the base 2 from the vertical to horizontal position and vice versa, without risk of burning with the iron 1, the carrying handle 23 having the advantage of being arranged at the opposite the part of the storage cavity 25 receiving the soleplate 10 of the iron.

Finally, the presence of the strap 5, which can be placed on the user's shoulder, allows the device to be transported without generating significant fatigue and without cluttering the hands. In addition, this strap 5 has the advantage of being able to be arranged in a storage position in which the strap 5 is perfectly integrated into the base 2 and does not interfere with the user during ironing work.

Of course, the present invention is in no way limited to the embodiment described and illustrated which has only been given by way of example. Modifications remain possible, particularly from the point of view of the constitution of the various elements or by substitution of technical equivalents, without departing from the scope of protection of the invention.

Thus, in a variant embodiment not shown, the tongue and the strap may be locally covered with a hook-and-loop covering to ensure the immobilization of the tongue on the strap when the latter is in the storage position.

Thus, in a variant embodiment not shown, the base may contain a pressurized steam generator and the connecting cord connecting the base to the iron include a conduit for transporting the steam.

Claims (13)

Household appliance comprising a body (2) comprising a transport strap (5), the strap (5) comprising a first end (5A) fixed on a first side of the body (2) and a second end (5B) fixed on a second side of the body (2), the strap (5) being able to occupy a deployed position in which the strap (5) extends away from the body (2) to be placed on a shoulder in order to allow the transport of the device, characterized in that the body (2) comprises a device for holding the strap (5) in a storage position in which the strap (5) extends along the body (2). Household appliance according to claim 1, characterized in that the body (2) comprises a guide element (29A) arranged on the first side of the body (2) and in that the strap (5) can slide under the element of guide (29A) to be brought into the storage position and in that, in the storage position, the strap (5) comprises a first part extending along the body (2) between the second end (5B) and the guide element (29A), passing under the guide element (29A), and comprises a second part, forming a loop extending between the first end (5A) and the guide element (29A), which is folded along the body (2) passing over the guide element (29A). Household appliance according to claim 2, characterized in that, in the storage position, the second part of the strap is arranged over the first part of the strap (5). Household appliance according to any one of claims 2 to 3, characterized in that the first end (5A) and second end (5B) of the strap (5) are fixed on two opposite sides of the body (2). Household appliance according to any one of claims 2 to 4, characterized in that the guide element (29A) and the first end (5A) of the strap are arranged on the same side of the body (2). Household appliance according to any one of claims 2 to 5, characterized in that the body (2) comprises a second guide element (29B) advantageously disposed on a side of the body (2) opposite to that receiving the first guide element (29A). Household appliance according to any one of Claims 1 to 6, characterized in that the body comprises a carrying handle (23) and in that the first end (5A) and the second end (5B) of the strap (5) are arranged on either side of the transport handle (23).
