The present invention relates to toys made of cardboard, or similar materials, in three dimensions and of a so-called interactive nature which are in particular large enough to play with indoors.

The invention relates more particularly to a cardboard toy in the shape of half a house capable of resting on the ground, a cardboard house made up of two halves of a house, and a cardboard blank for making such a toy in shape of half a house.

Technical background

We know of numerous examples of toys or play structures as defined above which allow one or more children, or an animal, to interact with the toy by evolving in particular inside the toy.

The toy is, for example, in the form of a house (or cabin or tent) or a vehicle (car, boat, plane, rocket).

The invention proposes a half house and a house made of cardboard and a cardboard blank for the production of such a large toy which allows shaping in three dimensions and simple assembly leading to the production of a particularly rigid and resistant toy.

The invention proposes a half of a three-dimensional cardboard house capable of resting on the ground, characterized in that it comprises, in a single main piece:
- a vertical front facade panel;
- half a left wall side panel;
- a half straight wall side panel;
- and a frontal roof part which extends the vertical front facade panel.

According to other characteristics of the half of the house:
- the front roof part comprises a horizontal roof panel which extends the vertical front facade panel horizontally outwards, and a vertical roof panel which extends the horizontal roof panel vertically upwards;
- the main part includes at least one reinforcing bracket which connects the front roof part to the vertical front facade panel;
- said at least one reinforcing bracket comprises a horizontal wing which extends horizontally outwards from the vertical front facade panel, and a vertical wing which connects said horizontal wing to the front roof part;
- the upper edge of said vertical front facade panel and the upper edges of said side wall half-panels extend in the same horizontal plane;
- the half of the house has at least one side roof part which extends half a side wall panel horizontally towards the interior;
- said at least one lateral roof portion extends in said horizontal plane;
- the main room comprises at least one door, without door threshold, for access to the interior which is delimited by a lower door edge of which at least one part is offset vertically upwards relative to the lower edge of the room main capable of resting on the ground;
- the half of the house has at least one attached split leg, reinforcing the stability of the half of the house, which is fitted onto the lower horizontal edge of the main part capable of resting on the ground;

The invention also proposes a three-dimensional cardboard house, characterized in that it comprises two halves of a house according to the invention assembled together and in which:
- the two front and vertical facade panels are parallel and opposite;
- the left side wall half-panel of one of the two house halves extends in the extension of the right side wall half-panel of the other of the two house halves;
- the right side wall half-panel of said one of the two house halves extends in the extension of the left side wall half-panel of said other of the two house halves.

According to other characteristics of the cardboard house:
- each of the two halves of the house comprises an assembly strap which extends from one of said half-side wall panels, and a complementary assembly slot which is arranged in the other of said half-side wall panels.

The invention also proposes a rectangular cardboard blank, for the production of a half of a house according to the invention, which is delimited by a lower longitudinal edge, an upper longitudinal edge, and by two opposite vertical side edges with longitudinal ends. , characterized in that said single main part is delimited by said two opposite vertical side edges.

According to other characteristics of the cardboard blank:
- the lower horizontal edge of the main part capable of resting on the ground is constituted by said lower longitudinal edge of the cardboard blank;
- the height of the cardboard blank is between 1.10 and 1.80 meters, and in particular equal to 1.62 meters, and its length is between 2.30 and 3.30 meters, and in particular equal to 2.925 meters;
- the cardboard blank is made of single-corrugated, double-sided corrugated cardboard, the grooves of which extend in the vertical direction of the half of the house, and whose thickness is equal to 4mm;
- on at least one of its two opposite faces, the blank has marking elements providing information relating to the instructions for making the half house.

Detailed description of the invention

For the description of the invention and the understanding of the claims, we will adopt on a non-limiting basis and without limiting reference to terrestrial gravity the vertical, longitudinal and transverse orientations according to the reference V, L, T indicated in the figures whose longitudinal axes L and transverse T extend in a horizontal plane.

By convention, the vertical axis is oriented from bottom to top, the longitudinal axis L is oriented from left to right and the transverse axis is oriented from front to rear.

In the description which follows, identical, similar or analogous elements will be designated by the same reference numerals.

Example of production
There is a plan view which represents a cardboard blank 10 of generally rectangular shape whose length is oriented along the horizontal direction of the longitudinal axis L and whose width is oriented along the vertical axis V.

Cardboard blank 10 is designed to make half a house out of three-dimensional cardboard.

In order to obtain a structure of great rigidity, the cardboard blank 10 is for example a single-corrugated, double-sided corrugated cardboard blank, comprising an intermediate corrugated paper arranged between two smooth faces constituting respectively a back 12 and a front 14 of the blank of cardboard 10.

The corrugated cardboard grooves extend here in the vertical direction.

The thickness of the corrugated cardboard from which the blank 10 is cut is for example equal to 4mm.

In known manner, the production of the corrugated cardboard blank 10 comprises:
- graphic or physical marking operations, possibly on the two opposite faces 12 and 14 of the cardboard blank 10, to include for example decorative elements and patterns, indications of lines or traces for the creation of the structure of game, or marking elements providing information relating to the process or instructions for producing the three-dimensional game structure;
- cutting out certain areas or parts, including making slots;
- pre-cutting certain zones or parts so as to subsequently facilitate certain localized folding operations and/or separation operations – complete or partial – of parts belonging in particular, but not exclusively – to at least one main element of the play structure .

The cardboard blank 10 is delimited vertically by an upper horizontal edge 16 and by a lower horizontal edge 18, and laterally by a left vertical side edge 20 and a right vertical side edge 22.

The cardboard blank 10 is designed to allow the creation of a three-dimensional game structure which is presented here in the form of at least one “half” 100 (See or 7) a large house or playhouse.

This half comprises in particular a front facade panel, two half-side wall panels on the left and right and a roof part.

Half of a house 100 alone constitutes a three-dimensional play structure which can be used by children.

The implementation of two identical cardboard blanks 10 can, by association of two halves of house 100, allow the creation of a “complete” play house 1000 then comprising in particular two opposite front panels of front and rear facade and two halves -left and right side panels, each in two parts, connecting the two opposite facade panels (See ).

We represented at the a main horizontal folding line LHP1 which extends here halfway between the opposite horizontal edges 16 and 18 to mark the division of the cardboard blank 10 into two horizontal sections lower THI and upper THS.

In practice, the horizontal folding line has a width or thickness of approximately 5 mm.

The two horizontal sections THI, THS are here of the same height HI, HS equal to 810 mm, i.e. a total height “H” equal to 1620 mm for cardboard blank 10.

We have also shown four vertical folding lines LVP1, LVP2, LVP3 and LVP4 to mark here the division of the cardboard blank 10 into five consecutive vertical sections TLG, TFG, TFC, TFD and TLD.

The five consecutive vertical sections here are of the same length equal to 585 mm, i.e. a total length “L” equal to 2925 mm for cardboard blank 10.

At the intersection of horizontal folding line LHP1 with each of the four vertical folding lines LVP1 to LVP4, the cardboard blank has a hollowed out zone 11, or alternatively a zone of reduced thickness of the cardboard produced by localized partial crushing.

In practice, each vertical folding line has a length or thickness of a few millimeters.

The folding lines LHP1 and LVP1 to LVP4 thus mark the division of the cardboard blank 10 – delimited by the two vertical edges left 20 and right 22 – into ten rectangular sectors.

As can be seen in Figures 1 and 2, before any first folding or separation operations, the cardboard blank 10 is generally in the form of a large rectangular planar blank which is notably delimited by pairs of edges parallel and opposite 16-18 and 20-22 which are rectilinear and generally continuous.

From such a cardboard blank 10, packaging can be produced allowing the presentation and commercial distribution of half of a house 100.

This step consists of folding the cardboard blank 10 and using one or more packaging closing elements or links.

For this purpose, an accordion or portfolio folding is carried out by carrying out at least one folding operation around at least one of the horizontal and/or vertical folding lines.

By way of non-limiting example, a first folding is carried out along the first horizontal folding line LHP1, then a series of successive foldings of the two superimposed horizontal sections THI and THS is carried out along the four vertical folding lines LVP1 to LVP4, to obtain an accordion fold.

Once these successive folding operations have been carried out, we obtain a folded state known as packaging according to a generally rectangular template whose area corresponds to that of a rectangular sector with dimensions height x length substantially equal to 810m x 585mm.

To complete the production of the packaging, it is surrounded by means of one or more elongated closing or strapping elements of the packaging.

We thus have a packaged product of reduced dimensions (Here approximately equal to 800 mm x 600 mm x 40 mm).

After purchasing the product, the production of half of the house 100 continues by unfolding the cardboard blank to put it flat, that is to say again in its state shown in Figures 1 and 2.

By following the instructions for making the half house, the user will carry out different operations of total or partial separation of different parts of the main part which here is the half house made of cardboard 100 itself.

These operations may aim to remove parts to make openings, to detach parts which will then be used to constitute accessories to be assembled with the main element or to be associated with it, or even to partially detach parts. parts that remain connected to the main part.

By way of example, and as can be seen in particular in Figures 2 and 3, these different parts to be totally or partially separated comprise a chimney 24, a letter box 26, four window copings with planters 28, openings 30 of windows, doors 32, etc.

Here they also include slotted legs 34 and 35 reinforcing the stability of the play structure which are then placed along the lower horizontal edge 18 which has associated slots 36 (See ).

After having carried out all or part of these separation operations, the production continues with various folding operations in order to conform the main element 100 in three dimensions.

Half of the house is essentially made up of the main part 100 of the cardboard blank 10 which includes:
- a vertical front facade panel 102 consisting of the three coplanar vertical front sections of left TFG, central TFC and right TFD;
- a half-left wall side panel 104G – constituted by the vertical section TLG – which is delimited by the vertical folding line LPV1 which connects it to the facade panel 102, and by the left vertical edge 20;
- a half straight wall side panel 104D - constituted by the vertical section TLD - which is delimited by the vertical folding line LPV4 which connects it to the vertical front facade panel 102, and by the right vertical edge 22;
- and a frontal roof part 106 which extends the vertical front facade panel 102 upwards and forwards.

The front roof portion 106 comprises a horizontal roof panel 108 which extends the vertical front facade panel 102 horizontally towards the exterior of the house half 100, and a vertical roof panel 110 which extends the horizontal roof panel 108 vertically to the top.

To conform the half of the house 100 in three dimensions, it is necessary to make two folds along the two vertical folding lines LVP1 and LVP4 which then extend along the end angles of the vertical front facade panel 102.

The front 12 of the cardboard blank 10 includes the marking of two additional horizontal folding lines LHP2 and LHP3 which are located in the upper horizontal section THS.

The second lowest horizontal folding line LHP2 corresponds to the upper edge of the vertical front facade panel 102 (See ).

The upper edge of the vertical front facade panel 102 and the upper edges of the side wall half-panels 104G, 104D extend in the same horizontal plane in which the folding line LHP2 is located.

The third, higher horizontal folding line LHP3 corresponds to the delimitation of the roof part 106 which comprises the horizontal roof panel 108 and the vertical roof panel 110.

To achieve the three-dimensional conformation of the roof part 106, it is necessary to make two folds along the two horizontal lines LHP2 and LHP3.

To reinforce and stabilize the front roof part 106, symmetrically with respect to the median vertical plane of the vertical front facade panel 102, the main part 100 comprises two reinforcing brackets 114, each of which connects the front roof part 106 to the front panel vertical facade 102.

The three-dimensional conformation of the reinforcement brackets 114 is carried out at the same time as the three-dimensional conformation of the frontal roof part 106.

Each reinforcing bracket 114 comprises a horizontal wing 116 which extends horizontally outwards from the vertical front facade panel 102, and a vertical wing 118 which connects the horizontal wing 116 to the front roof part 106.

The connection line between the two wings 116 and 114 of each reinforcement bracket corresponds to the folding line LPH2.

On either side of the frontal roof part 106, the main part 100 comprises a left side roof part 112G and a right side roof part 112D, each of which extends a half-side wall panel 104G, 104D respectively.

Each side roof part 112G, 112D extends from the upper edge – corresponding to the folding line LHP2 – of the corresponding half wall side panel 104G, 104D.

In the three-dimensional shaped state, each side roof portion 112G, 112D extends horizontally inwards, along the back of the vertical front facade panel 102 (See Figures 6, 7 and 8).

The main room 100 here has an access door to the interior of half of the house 100, without a door threshold; that is to say that the lower part of the access opening to the interior of the house half 100 is entirely clear

The door here is a double door 32, each part of which is delimited by a lower door edge 31, at least one part of which 131 is offset vertically upwards relative to the lower edge 18 of the main part 100 which rests on the ground.

The upward offset of the largest part 131 of the lower door edge 31 facilitates the opening and closing of the door, especially when half of the house is placed on a rug or carpet, because it practically does not touch floor.

The free end section of the lower edge 31 opposite the folded vertical edge forming the door hinge, is in contact with the ground. This makes it possible to maintain the door 32 in its closed position or in an open position.

The main part 100 comprises a recess in the form of a horizontal slot 133 which extends longitudinally above each upper edge 33 of a door 32 in order to facilitate the pivoting movements of the doors 32, towards the outside or towards the interior.

The chimney 24 has a double lower slot 124 which allows its mounting by nesting on the free horizontal upper edge of the frontal roof part 106 (See ).

The mailbox 26 has side hooking tabs 126 which allow it to be hung in complementary slots 1260 formed in the left door 32.

The window copings with planter 28 have hanging tabs for hanging them on the facade panel 100, below the windows 30.

The separation of each edge 28 makes it possible to produce a recess 128 forming a window in the vertical roof panel 110.

To reinforce the stability of the half of the house 100, the main part 100 is here provided with two slotted tabs 34, each of which has a pair of slots 134 which are fitted into pairs of associated complementary slots 36 formed in the lower horizontal edge 18 of the main part 100 (See ).

Each tab 34, when separated from the main part 100, allows the creation of a side window 130G, 130 D in each of the side half-panels 104G, 104D.

Thus, half of the house 100 includes at least one window 30 in each of the panels 102, 104G and 104D.

In the same way, the main part 100 is here provided with two slotted tabs 35 (only one of which is shown in the and which are not shown in the figure) each of which comprises a pair of slots 135 which are fitted into pairs of associated complementary slots 36 formed in the lower horizontal edge 18 of each half-wall side panel 104G, 104D (See ).

Each tab 35, when separated from the main part 100, allows the creation of a half-moon window 39 above each window 30 of the vertical facade panel 102.

In the complete house 1000, the two front and vertical facade panels 102 are parallel and opposite;
- the left side wall half-panel 104G of one of the two house halves 100 extends transversely in the extension of the right wall side half-panel 104D of the other of the two house halves;

- the right side wall half-panel 104D of said one of the two house halves 100 extends in the extension of the left wall side half-panel 104G of the other of the two house halves.

In other words, on each side of the house 1000, it comprises a side wall panel (left or right) which is made up of two parts by two half-left side panels 104G and 104D which are adjacent by their edges verticals 20 and 22.

The house 1000 can be equipped with a single or two mailboxes 26 and a single or two chimneys 24.

The two halves of the house 100 are assembled using assembly straps 38.

Each assembly strap 38 extends from a half wall side panel 104G, 104D towards its vertical edge 20, 22 respectively.

Each side wall half-panel 104D, 104G has a complementary assembly slot 138 which is arranged near its vertical edge 22, 20 and which is capable of receiving an assembly strap 38.

As we can see in the - along its vertical edge 20, 22 - each half-wall side panel 104G, 104D comprises an assembly strap 38 and a complementary assembly slot 138 which are offset vertically relative to each other.
