Abstract

TRUNK VEHICLE COMPRISING A STORAGE DEVICE FOR PREDEFINED OBJECTS OF DIFFERENT VERTICAL EXTENSIONS Technical field of the invention

The invention relates to vehicles comprising a trunk delimiting a storage space.

State of the art

Many vehicles, generally of the automobile type, include a trunk whose walls delimit a space that can accommodate predefined objects (or equipment) to be transported. In some cases, at least one of these predefined items may need to be permanently housed in the trunk. This is for example the case of optional equipment such as a so-called pancake type spare wheel or a homogeneous spare wheel or at least part of a subwoofer or a tendelet or a temporary breakdown kit box or a swan neck hitch or even charging cables.

As those skilled in the art know, to allow the permanent housing of such predefined optional equipment (or object), it is possible to install in the trunk, on the supporting structure of the vehicle, a storage device comprising at least one dedicated part, generally made by molding a rigid and resistant plastic (or expanded polypropylene foam (or EPP (“Expanded PolyPropylene”))), and generally hidden by a trunk mat. In addition to its storage function for optional equipment(s), this storage device also provides counter-support for the trunk mat, which ensures robustness to user demands and allows efforts to be resumed when loads are placed on the trunk mat, located above the optional equipment.

The aforementioned predefined equipment (or objects) being optional, certain vehicles are not adapted to their accommodation or only adapted to some of them. Therefore, there are modular (or adaptable) storage devices that allow them all to be accommodated in vehicles. In this case, the storage device comprises a first structure intended to be housed at a lower level in the trunk space and delimiting a first housing suitable for receiving a first predefined optional object or equipment (of small vertical extension) or a first part of a second predefined optional object or equipment (of large vertical extension), and a second structure placed on the first structure and delimiting a second housing extending the first housing and capable of receiving a second part of this second predefined optional object or equipment . It will be understood that when the vehicle is only suitable for storing a first predefined object (or optional equipment), it only includes the first structure in its trunk space, and therefore the trunk mat is supported by the face upper end of this first structure.

To allow good docking of the two side edges (right and left) of the trunk mat on the side trims which hide the side walls delimiting the trunk, and to avoid sagging of these side edges with undulations, it is possible to give a conformation particular to the internal side edges of the lower parts of the side trims and to the side edges of the trunk mat located respectively opposite these internal side edges.

More precisely, the internal edge of the lower part of each side trim comprises an end part, which is flush with the upper end face of the first structure, and lower and upper plates adapted together to respectively support lower sub-parts and upper edge of the corresponding side edge of the trunk mat.

However, when the storage device comprises a second structure placed on its first structure, the trunk mat is supported by the second structure by having its side edges which do not rest on internal edges of intermediate parts of the side linings. This results in imprecise docking and sometimes sagging of these side edges with undulations, which harms the quality image of the vehicle and can be considered by some users as a manufacturing or design defect. One solution therefore consists of providing first side trims adapted to the storage devices allowing the storage of a first predefined object (or optional equipment) (of small vertical extension), and second side trims adapted to the storage devices allowing the storage of a second predefined object (or optional equipment) (of large vertical extension). However, such a solution requires the design and manufacture of first molds for the first fillings and second molds for the second fillings, which is expensive. In addition, this solution makes inventory management more complex.

The invention therefore aims in particular to improve the situation.

Presentation of the invention

It proposes in particular for this purpose a storage device, on the one hand, intended to equip a vehicle comprising a trunk partially delimited by side trims and delimiting a space, and, on the other hand, comprising a first structure intended to be housed in this space and delimiting a first housing capable of receiving a first predefined object or a first part of a second predefined object, and a second structure placed on the first structure and delimiting a second housing extending the first housing and capable of receiving a second part of this second predefined object.

This storage device is characterized by the fact that its second structure comprises upper side edges located respectively opposite the side trims and each comprising at least one tray capable of supporting a corresponding sub-part of a corresponding side edge of a carpet intended to hide the second predefined object and the second housing.

Thanks to the invention, when the storage device comprises a second structure (placed on its first structure), it is now this second structure which ensures with its upper side edges the support of the side edges of the trunk mat, which ensures precise docking of the trunk mat in relation to the side trims, with a guarantee of no sagging of the side edges of the trunk mat.

The storage device according to the invention may include other characteristics which can be taken separately or in combination, and in particular:

- each upper lateral edge of the second structure may include lower and upper plates capable of supporting respectively lower and upper sub-parts of a corresponding lateral edge of the carpet;

- its second structure may comprise upper front and rear edges intended to be placed respectively opposite the front and rear walls of the trunk and comprising, for at least one of them, at least one plate capable of supporting a sub- corresponding part of a corresponding front or rear edge of the carpet;

- its second structure may comprise lower side edges intended to be placed respectively opposite the side trims and each comprising a lower face and at least one plate capable of being supported by an end part and at least one corresponding plate of a internal edge of a corresponding side trim;

- in the presence of the last option, its first structure may include an upper end face intended to be flush with the end parts of the internal edges of the side trims. In this case, the lower face of each lower lateral edge of its second structure may be an end face resting at least partially on the upper end face of the first structure and the end part of the internal edge of the lining corresponding lateral;

- its first structure can be modular and can include at least two parts selected from a first set of N parts, with N ≥ 2, then assembled together;

- its second structure can be modular and can include at least two parts selected from a second set of M parts, with M ≥ 2, then assembled together.

The invention also proposes a vehicle, possibly of the automobile type, and comprising a trunk partially delimited by side walls hidden by side trim and delimiting a space, a carpet installed in this trunk, and a storage device of the type of that presented above, housed in this space and supporting this carpet.

For example, the first and second structures may be capable of housing a first or second predefined object which is chosen from a so-called pancake type spare wheel, a homogeneous spare wheel, at least part of a subwoofer, a tensioner, a temporary repair kit box, a swan neck hitch and charging cables.

Detailed description of the invention

The invention aims in particular to propose a DR storage device intended to equip a CV trunk of a vehicle V and adaptable according to needs while guaranteeing good docking of a TC trunk mat on GL side trims hiding of the side walls of the CV box.

In what follows, we consider, by way of non-limiting example, that the vehicle V is of the automobile type. This is for example a car. But the invention is not limited to this type of vehicle. Indeed, it concerns any vehicle including a trunk delimiting a space that can accommodate predefined objects (or optional equipment). Consequently, the invention relates at least to land vehicles (apart from motorcycles).

We have schematically represented in Figures 1 and 2 a part of an example of a rear part of a vehicle V. This rear part comprises a trunk CV delimiting a space EC in which is installed an exemplary embodiment of a storage device DR according to the invention. Note that the CV trunk could be defined in a front part of the vehicle V.

The CV box is in particular delimited by side walls, right and left, which are masked by side linings GL and which delimit the space EC dedicated to accommodating a DR storage device according to the invention.

As illustrated at least partially in Figures 1 to 4, a storage device DR, according to the invention, comprises first S1 and second S2 structures.

The first structure S1 is intended to be housed in the space EC and delimits a first housing L1 which is suitable for receiving a first predefined object O1, having a “small” vertical extension (as illustrated in Figures 1 and 2), or a first part of a second predefined O2 object, having a “large” vertical extension (as illustrated in Figures 2 and 3).

The second structure S2 is placed on the first structure S1 when the vehicle V must accommodate a second predefined object O2. This second structure S2 delimits a second housing L2 which extends the first housing L1 and is suitable for receiving a second part of the second predefined object O2 (as illustrated in Figures 2 and 3). In addition, this second structure S2 comprises upper lateral edges BLS, right and left, located respectively opposite the side linings GL, right and left, and each comprising at least one plate P21 or P22 capable of supporting a sub-part SPI or Corresponding SPS of a corresponding BLT side edge of a trunk mat TC which is intended to mask the second predefined object O2 and the second housing L2.

Thus, when the storage device DR comprises a second structure S2 (placed on its first structure S1), it is now this second structure S2 which provides with its upper side edges BLS the support of the side edges BLT of the trunk mat TC. This results in precise docking of the TC trunk mat in relation to the GL side trims, with a guarantee of no sagging of the BLT side edges of the TC trunk mat, which avoids harm to the quality image of the vehicle V. This also allows the second structure S2 to reinforce its counter-support function for the trunk mat TC, and therefore to reinforce the robustness to user stresses and the recovery of forces when loads are placed on the trunk mat TC.

In addition, this avoids having to design second molds for side trims to be associated with second O2 objects. Indeed, the side trims can be associated with first objects O1, they can now also be associated with second objects O2, which makes it possible to reduce the costs of designing and manufacturing molds, and to simplify inventory management.

For example, and as illustrated non-limitatively and at least partially in Figures 3 and 4, each upper lateral edge BLS can comprise a lower plate P21 and an upper plate P22 which are capable, together, of respectively supporting a lower sub-part SPI and an upper SPS sub-part of a corresponding BLT side edge of the TC trunk mat.

It will be understood that the lower P21 and upper P22 plates of each upper lateral edge BLS are species of steps separated by a recess and therefore defined at different vertical levels. Likewise, the lower SPI and upper SPS sub-parts of each BLT lateral edge of the TC trunk mat are types of steps separated by a recess and therefore defined at different vertical levels.

For example, and as illustrated non-limitingly and at least partially in Figures 3 and 4, the second structure S2 can comprise an upper front edge BVS and an upper rear edge BRS which are intended to be placed respectively facing front and rear walls of the CV box and which comprise, for at least one of them, at least one plate P21 or P22 capable of supporting an SPI or SPS sub-part of a front edge BVT or a corresponding rear edge BRT of the TC trunk mat. This makes it possible to complete the control of the docking of the TC boot mat at the level of at least one other of its edges, and thus to further reinforce the quality impression of the vehicle V in the CV boot area. This also allows the second structure S2 to further strengthen its counter-support function for the trunk mat TC, and therefore to further strengthen the robustness to user stresses and the recovery of forces when loads are placed on the mat. Also for example, and as illustrated non-limitatively and at least partially in Figures 3 and 4, the upper front edge BVS and/or the upper rear edge BRS of the second structure S2 may include lower and upper plates P21 P22 which are capable of supporting respectively the lower and upper sub-parts of a front edge BVT or a corresponding rear edge BRT of the trunk mat TC.

It will be noted that in the example illustrated non-limitingly on the only the upper rear edge BRS of the second structure S2 comprises lower plates P21 and upper P22 capable of supporting the lower and upper sub-parts of the rear edge BRT of the trunk mat TC. But in alternative embodiments not illustrated, only the upper front edge BVS of the second structure S2 could comprise lower plates P21 and upper P22 capable of supporting lower and upper sub-parts of the front edge BVT of the trunk mat TC, or else the upper rear edge BRS and the upper front edge BVS of the second structure S2 could both comprise lower plates P21 and upper P22 capable of supporting lower and upper sub-parts respectively of the rear edge BRT and front edge BVT of the conveyor belt. Also for example, and as illustrated non-limitingly on the , the second structure S2 can comprise two lower side edges BLI (right and left) which are intended to be placed respectively opposite the side linings GL and which each comprise a lower face FI2 and at least one plate PS3 or PS4. In this case, each lower face FI2 is suitable for being supported by an end part PE of the internal edge BI of the corresponding side trim GL and each plate PS3 or PS4 is suitable for being supported by a corresponding plate PIT or PST of the edge internal BI of the corresponding GL side trim.

Also for example, and as illustrated non-limitingly on the , each BLI lower side edge can include a lower PS3 plate and an upper PS4 plate. In this case, each lower face FI2 is capable of being supported by an end part PE of the internal edge BI of the corresponding side trim GL, each lower plate PS3 is suitable for being supported by a lower plate PIT of the internal edge BI of the corresponding GL side trim, and each upper plate PS4 is capable of being supported by an upper plate PST of the internal edge BI of the corresponding GL side trim.

It will be understood that the lower plates PS3 and upper plates PS4 of each lower lateral edge BLS are species of steps separated by a step and therefore defined at different vertical levels, and that the lower plate PS2 is separated from the lower face FI2 by another recess and therefore defined at a vertical level higher than that of the lower face FI2.

This option allows the second structure S2 to be supported not only by the first structure S1 but also by the GL side trims, and therefore to improve its stability and its support in the CV box. This also allows the second structure S2 to be brought closer to the GL side trims so as to facilitate docking of the BLT side edges of the TC trunk mat on the GL side trims.

This also allows the second structure S2 to further strengthen its counter-support function for the trunk mat TC, and therefore to further strengthen the robustness to user stresses and the recovery of forces when loads are placed on the mat. TC trunk.

Note, as illustrated non-limitatively in the , that the first structure S1 can comprise an upper end face FES which is intended to be flush with the end parts PE of the internal edges BI of the side trims GL. In this case, the lower face FI2 of each lower lateral edge BLI of the second structure S2 is an end face which rests at least partially on the upper end face FES of the first structure S1 and the end part PE of an internal edge BI of the corresponding side trim GL. This makes it possible to have surface continuity between the upper end face FES of the first structure S1 and the end parts PE of the internal edges BI of the side trims GL, and therefore to further improve the stability and support. of the second structure S2 in the CV box.

Thanks to this flushing of the upper end face FES of the first structure S1 at the level of the end parts PE of the internal edges BI of the side trims GL, it is possible to use the first structure S1 without the second structure S2. In this case, the trunk mat TC can be supported by the upper end face FES of the first structure S1 by having each sub-part SPI or SPS of its lateral edges BLT supported by the corresponding PIT or PST plate of the internal edges BI corresponding GL side trims. The trunk mat TC then hides the first housing L1 and a possible first predefined object O1 stored in the latter (L1).

For example, and as illustrated without limitation, when each side edge BLT comprises lower SPI and upper SPS sub-parts, the latter (SPI and SPS) are supported respectively by the lower PIT and upper PST plates of the internal edges BI of the side trims corresponding GLs.

Also for example, and as illustrated without limitation in Figures 1 and 4, the first structure S1 can be modular and can comprise at least two parts PS1 which can be selected from a first set of N parts, with N ≥ 2, then assembled between them. This option may allow the dedicated storage of zero or at least one first O1 object or the first part of at least one second O2 object.

Also for example, the second structure S2 can be modular and can comprise at least two parts PS2 which can be selected from a second set of M parts, with M ≥ 2, then assembled together. This option may allow dedicated storage of the second part of at least one second O2 object. It will be noted that in the example illustrated non-limitingly on the , the second structure S2 only includes one piece PS2, but it could include several (at least two).

It should also be noted that there may be several predefined objects (or optional equipment) O1 and/or O2 stored in a DR storage device. Furthermore, the PS1 parts can also, possibly, constitute storage boxes inside which arrangements can be defined, such as for example interior walls (not shown in the figures), intended to create compartments and/or to block the predefined objects O1 or O2 put inside so that they cannot move when the vehicle V moves.

By way of example, each predefined object O1 or O2 can be chosen from a so-called pancake type spare wheel, a homogeneous spare wheel, at least part of a subwoofer, a tensioner, a kit box temporary repair, a swan neck hitch and charging cables.

It will also be noted that the possible parts PS1 of the first structure S1 can be assembled together by coupling between at least a pair of first and second coupling elements respectively of male and female types cooperating with each other and forming an integral part of them or possibly reported. These first and second coupling elements can be form-cooperation means, but other types of coupling elements can be used, and in particular clipping elements. Alternatively, the possible parts PS1 of the first structure S1 can be assembled together by coupling between at least one attached clip comprising two opposite teeth and first and second recesses which they respectively comprise and housing these teeth.

It will also be noted that the possible parts PS2 of the second structure S2 can be assembled together by coupling between at least a pair of first and second coupling elements respectively of male and female types cooperating with each other and forming an integral part of them or possibly reported. These first and second coupling elements can be form-cooperation means, but other types of coupling elements can be used, and in particular clipping elements. Alternatively, the possible parts PS2 of the second structure S2 can be assembled together by coupling between at least one attached clip comprising two opposite teeth and first and second recesses which they respectively comprise and housing these teeth.

It will also be noted that some of the possible parts PS1 and PS2 of the first S1 and second S2 structures can be assembled together by coupling between at least a pair of first and second coupling elements respectively of male and female types cooperating with each other and forming an integral part of them or possibly reported. These first and second coupling elements can be form-cooperation means, but other types of coupling elements can be used, and in particular clipping elements. Alternatively, the possible parts PS1 and PS2 of the first S1 and second S2 structures can be assembled together by coupling between at least one attached clip comprising two opposite teeth and first and second recesses which they respectively comprise and housing these teeth.

For example, the first PS1 and second PS2 parts can be made by molding a rigid and resistant plastic material (or expanded polypropylene foam (or EPP (Expanded PolyPropylene))).

Claims (10)

Storage device (DR) for a vehicle (V) comprising a trunk (CV) partially delimited by side trims (GL) and delimiting a space (EC), said device (DR) comprising i) a first structure (S1) intended to be housed in said space (EC) and delimiting a first housing (L1) capable of receiving a first predefined object (O1) or a first part of a second predefined object (O2), and ii) a second structure (S2) placed on said first structure (S1) and delimiting a second housing (L2) extending said first housing (L1) and capable of receiving a second part of said second predefined object (O2), characterized in that said second structure (S2) comprises upper side edges (BLS) located respectively opposite said side trims (GL) and each comprising at least one plate (P21, P22) capable of supporting a corresponding sub-part (SPI, SPS) of a corresponding side edge (BLT) a carpet (TC) intended to mask said second predefined object (O2) and said second housing (L2). Device according to claim 1, characterized in that each upper lateral edge (BLS) comprises lower (P21) and upper (P22) plates capable of supporting respectively lower (SPI) and upper (SPS) sub-parts of an edge lateral (BLT) corresponding to said belt (TC). Device according to claim 1 or 2, characterized in that said second structure (S2) comprises upper front (BVS) and rear (BRS) edges intended to be placed respectively opposite the front and rear walls of said trunk (CV) and comprising , for at least one of them, at least one plate capable of supporting a corresponding sub-part (SPI, SPS) of a corresponding front (BVS) or rear (BRS) edge of said belt (TC).
