Description

Procédé de fabrication d’une pièce en matériau thermoplastique intégrant des charges métalliques
La présente invention se rapporte au domaine des pièces en matériau thermoplastique et, plus particulièrement à l’assemblage par soudage de telles pièces.
Les matériaux thermoplastiques et en particulier les matériaux composites comprenant des fibres de renfort, par exemple des fibres de carbone et/ou des fibres de verre, dispersées dans une matrice polymère thermoplastique ont de nombreux usages possibles, et notamment, dans le domaine de l’aéronautique.
Pour la réalisation de certaines structures, il peut être nécessaire d’assembler plusieurs pièces en matériau thermoplastique comme, par exemple, pour un volet d’inverseur de poussée, un panneau raidi, des raidisseurs, des éléments de carénage, etc.
Ces pièces composites peuvent être assemblées par soudage, notamment par une technologie de type :
  • soudage par induction,
  • soudage résistif,
  • soudage par chauffe et pression
  • soudage par ultrason, soudage laser.
Le document EP 2 907 651 décrit un procédé de soudage par induction dans lequel on soumet à un champ magnétique un ensemble formé de deux pièces à souder en matériau composite à matrice thermoplastique et d’un absorbeur de champ ou suscepteur positionné à l’interface entre les pièces. Le champ magnétique provoque l’élévation en température du suscepteur jusqu’à une température permettant le ramollissement ou la fusion de la résine thermoplastique.
L’interposition d’un suscepteur entre les pièces à souder présente néanmoins l’inconvénient de complexifier techniquement l’opération de soudage par la nécessité de positionner avec précision le suscepteur et de le maintenir en position entre les pièces pendant le soudage. En outre, l’utilisation d’un suscepteur entraîne une augmentation du temps et du coût de fabrication. Par ailleurs, la présence d’un suscepteur à l’interface de liaison entre les deux pièces peut nuire à la tenue mécanique de la structure résultante en service.
La présente invention a donc pour but principal de proposer une solution pour le soudage d’une pièce en matériau thermoplastique qui ne présente pas les inconvénients précités.
Conformément à l’invention, ce but est atteint grâce à un procédé de fabrication d’une pièce apte à être soudée à une autre pièce, caractérisé en ce qu’il comprend la formation sur un corps de pièce d’une ou plusieurs portions en matériau thermoplastique chargé avec des particules métalliques correspondant à une ou plusieurs surfaces d’assemblage de la pièce.
En formant une ou plusieurs portions en matériau thermoplastique chargé avec des particules métalliques dans une ou plusieurs parties de la pièce, on s’affranchit des problèmes liés à l’utilisation d’un suscepteur rapporté décrit précédemment. L’intégration de particules métalliques dans le matériau thermoplastique de la pièce permet de faciliter le positionnement entre les pièces à assembler avec une bonne répétabilité lors d’une production en séries. Le procédé de l’invention permet d’éviter l’utilisation d’un suscepteur qui constitue une opération supplémentaire qui peut être pénalisante techniquement ou économiquement (positionnement manuel pouvant être complexe, coût et pose du composant). La présence du suscepteur peut en outre nuire à la tenue de la pièce en service.
Par ailleurs, avec une ou plusieurs portions en matériau thermoplastique chargé avec des particules métalliques surmoulés ou noyés dans un matériau thermoplastique, on contrôle la diffusivité thermique au sein d’une pièce dont le corps est réalisé avec un matériau sensible à la chaleur comme un matériau thermoplastique. En effet, il est ainsi possible de chauffer localement le matériau thermoplastique de la pièce au-delà de son point de fusion au niveau de la ou les surfaces d’assemblage de celle-ci tout en conservant dans le reste du matériau de la pièce une température suffisamment basse pour assurer sa stabilité géométrique et un niveau de cristallinité maîtrisé.
Selon un mode de réalisation du procédé selon l’invention, celui-ci comprend l’introduction d’un matériau thermoplastique chargé avec des particules métalliques dans une ou plusieurs parties d’un moule de manière à former une ou plusieurs portions correspondant à une ou plusieurs surfaces d’assemblage de la pièce et l’introduction d’un matériau thermoplastique non chargé avec des particules métalliques dans le reste du moule de manière à former le corps de pièce. Le matériau thermoplastique non chargé avec des particules métalliques peut comprendre une résine thermoplastique simple ou une résine thermoplastique chargée avec des fibres courtes. Selon un aspect particulier de ce mode de réalisation, le moule présente une pluralité de cavités formant un réseau de nervures, le matériau thermoplastique chargé avec des particules métalliques étant introduit dans le fond des cavités de manière à être présent à un sommet des nervures de la pièce en matériau thermoplastique, le matériau thermoplastique non chargé étant ensuite introduit dans le reste des cavités.
Selon un autre mode de réalisation du procédé selon l’invention, celui-ci comprend la réalisation d’une peau composite formant un corps de pièce et la formation sur au moins une face de la peau composite d’une ou plusieurs portions en matériau thermoplastique chargé avec des particules métalliques correspondant à une ou plusieurs surfaces d’assemblage de la pièce. La ou les portions en matériau thermoplastique chargé avec des particules métalliques sont réalisées par surmoulage par injection d’un matériau thermoplastique chargé avec des particules métalliques sur le corps de pièce. La ou les portions en matériau thermoplastique chargé avec des particules métalliques peuvent aussi être réalisées par thermocompression d’un matériau thermoplastique chargé avec des particules métalliques sur le corps de pièce.
Selon une caractéristique particulière du procédé de l’invention, les particules métalliques sont réalisées en un matériau apte à s’échauffer sous l’effet d’un champ magnétique. Elles peuvent être réalisées notamment avec un des matériaux suivants : cuivre, fer, titane et nickel.
Selon une autre caractéristique particulière du procédé de l’invention, les particules métalliques présentent une taille comprise entre 1 µm et 100 µm.
Selon une autre caractéristique particulière du procédé de l’invention, le matériau thermoplastique chargé avec des particules métallique comprend entre 1% et 80% en masse de particules métalliques.
L’invention a également pour objet un procédé de fabrication d’une structure comprenant au moins des première et deuxième pièces, le procédé comprenant la fabrication d’une première pièce en matériau thermoplastique selon le procédé de fabrication d’une pièce de l’invention, l’accostage de la ou les surfaces d’assemblage de la première pièce avec une deuxième pièce et le placement des première et deuxièmes pièces accostées dans un champ magnétique de manière à souder ladite première pièce à la deuxième pièce.

Claims (5)

  1. Procédé de fabrication d’une pièce (200) apte à être soudée à une autre pièce, comprenant la réalisation d’une peau composite formant un corps de pièce (205), caractérisé en ce qu’il comprend la formation sur au moins une face (205a) de la peau composite d’une ou plusieurs portions (206) en matériau thermoplastique (240) chargé avec des particules métalliques (220) correspondant à une ou plusieurs surfaces d’assemblage (101) de la pièce, la ou les portions (206) en matériau thermoplastique (240) chargé avec des particules métalliques (220) étant réalisées par thermocompression sur le corps de pièce (205).
  2. Procédé selon la revendication 1, dans lequel les particules métalliques (220) sont réalisées en un matériau apte à s’échauffer sous l’effet d’un champ magnétique (C60).
  3. Procédé selon l’une quelconque des revendications 1 à 2, dans lequel les particules métalliques (220) présentent une taille comprise entre 1 µm et 100 µm.
  4. Procédé selon l’une quelconque des revendications 1 à 3, dans lequel le matériau thermoplastique (240) chargé avec des particules métalliques (220) comprend entre 1% et 80% en masse de particules métalliques.
  5. Procédé de fabrication d’une structure (500) comprenant au moins des première et deuxième pièces (100, 300), le procédé comprenant la fabrication d’une première pièce (100) selon le procédé tel que défini dans les revendications 1 à 4, l’accostage de la ou les surfaces d’assemblage (101) de la première pièce avec une deuxième pièce (300) et le placement des première et deuxièmes pièces accostées dans un champ magnétique de manière à souder ladite première pièce à la deuxième pièce.
