Description

LINER PEN

The present invention relates to a liner pen, in particular, a liner pen optimized for a very low viscosity formula.

[Context]

It is known to apply make-up, for example on the eyelids, by drawing a line with a liner applicator such as a liner pen.

Document WO 2012/008 009 A1 discloses a cosmetic product applicator in the form of a pen comprising a pen tip (brush), an internal sheath provided in a main body of the applicator, an impregnation member comprising a strip impregnated with a liquid cosmetic, which is housed in the inner sheath, a pen feeder for applying the liquid cosmetic product to the pen tip, which is provided on one side of the tip of the impregnation member, and a cap attached to a rear end of the inner sheath.

CN 205 849 009 U discloses a liner pen. This liner pen includes a nib, a sponge, a check valve and a body, the nib being formed by the brush bristles with a mixture of different diameters and shapes. The body has a check valve communication mother solution chamber, which stores cosmetic liquid inside, and the sponge surrounds the mother chamber side of the nib.

KR 10-1464934 discloses a liner pen. The liner pen comprises a brush assembly consisting of a wedge member and a brush member, a hollow guide supporting the brush member, a control member containing the wedge member, a support member with a cosmetic material housing chamber, and a support cap member.

However, for a new liner formula having a very low viscosity, such as a range of 4-15 mPa.s, preferably 4-8 mPa.s, measured at 25°C and a shear rate of 100 s ^-1 using an ARES-RFS type rheometer, the liner pens of the prior art do not make it possible to deposit a sufficient quantity of the new liner formula. The new liner formula is disclosed, for example, in WO 2012008009 and WO 2020004239.

More specifically, the liner formula may contain a composition comprising one or more of the following:

(a) at least one pigment (in particular carbon black);

(b) at least one first copolymer of at least two monomers chosen from (meth)acrylic acid, its esters and its salts (acrylate copolymer);

(c) at least one second copolymer of styrene or of α-methylstyrene and of at least one monomer chosen from (meth)acrylic acid, its esters and its salts (styrene/acrylates/ammonium methacrylate copolymer); And

(d) water.

Accordingly, the configuration of a liner pen must be improved for the new liner formula. An object of the present invention is to improve the liner pen.

In one aspect, the present invention provides a liner pen. A liner pen comprising: a brush for applying a liner formula to a user's skin and comprised of a plurality of fibers; a brush case containing the brush; a feeder driving the liner formula from a reservoir to the brush; a lamellar system containing the feeder and hermetically closing one end of the container; and an inner sheath housing the brush, brush case, feeder and lamellar system and defining the container therein, wherein the liner formula contains a composition comprising: (a) at least one pigment; (b) at least one first copolymer of at least two monomers chosen from (meth)acrylic acid, its esters and its salts (acrylate copolymer); (c) at least one second copolymer of styrene or α-methylstyrene and at least one monomer chosen from (meth)acrylic acid, its esters and its salts; and (d) water, wherein the amount of (a) pigment in the composition is 5% to 10% by weight, based on the total weight of the composition; wherein the amount of (b) first copolymer in the composition is from 0.1% to 10% by weight, based on the total weight of the composition; wherein the weight ratio of the amount of (c) second copolymer(s)/the amount of the pigment is 1.0 or more, preferably 1.5 or more, and more preferably 2, 0 or more, and wherein the amount of (c) second copolymer in the composition is from 10% to 35% by weight, based on the total weight of the composition; wherein the amount of (d) water in the composition is 40 to 55% by weight, based on the total weight of the composition; wherein the viscosity of the composition can be a range of 4 to 8 mPa.s, measured at 25°C and at a shear rate of 100 s ^-1 using an ARES-RFS type rheometer, and wherein the feeder is made of porous polyester.

In one embodiment according to the present invention, the brush can be made up of first fibers and second fibers each having a circular section, and in which the first fiber can have a first fiber diameter and the second fiber has a second diameter of fiber. The amount of first fibers may be the same as the amount of second fibers. The amount of the first fibers can be the same as the amount of the second fibers, and the first fibers and the second fibers can be arranged in a substantially homogeneous manner.

In one embodiment according to the present invention, the brush can be made up of a plurality of fibers each having a star-shaped section. A diameter of a circle circumscribing the star-shaped section of the fibers is substantially the same for all fibers.

In one embodiment according to the present invention, the porosity of the polyester forming the feeder (4) is greater than 68%, preferably greater than 74%.

Claims (9)

Liner pen (1) comprising:
a brush (2) for applying a liner formula to a user's skin and comprised of a plurality of fibers;
a brush case (3) containing the brush;
a feeder (4) delivering liner formula from a reservoir (63) to the brush;
a lamellar system (5) containing the feeder and hermetically closing one end of the container; And
an internal sheath (6) housing the brush (2), the brush case (3), the feeder (4) and the lamellar system (5) and defining the container (63) inside,
in which the liner formula contains a composition comprising at least one pigment such as carbon black, the amount of said pigment being between 5% and 10% by weight relative to the total weight of the composition; said composition having a viscosity in the range of 4 to 8 mPa.s, measured at 25°C and at a shear rate of 100 s ^-1 using an ARES-RFS type rheometer, and;
wherein the feeder (4) is made of porous polyester. A liner pen (1) according to claim 1, wherein the liner composition comprises:
- at least one first copolymer of at least two monomers chosen from (meth)acrylic acid, its esters and its salts (acrylate copolymer), the quantity of (b) first copolymer in the composition preferably being 0 1% to 10% by weight, relative to the total weight of the composition;
- and/or at least one second copolymer of styrene or α-methylstyrene and at least one monomer chosen from (meth)acrylic acid, its esters and its salts, the weight ratio of the quantity of the second or copolymers / the amount of pigment being preferably equal to or greater than 1.0, preferably equal to or greater than 1.5, and more preferably equal to or greater than 2.0, and the amount of the second copolymer in the composition being preferably between 10% and 35% by weight, relative to the total weight of the composition. Eyeliner pen according to Claim 1, in which the composition comprises water as solvent, the amount of water preferably being between 40 and 55% by weight relative to the total weight of the composition. A liner pen (1) according to any one of claims 1 to 3, wherein the brush (2) is made up of first fibers and second fibers each having a circular section, and wherein the first fiber has a first fiber diameter and the second fiber has a second fiber diameter. A liner pen (1) according to claim 4, wherein the amount of the first fibers is the same as the amount of the second fibers. A liner pen (1) according to claim 4 or 5, wherein the first fibers and the second fibers are substantially homogeneously arranged. Liner pen (1) according to any one of Claims 1 to 3, in which the brush (2) consists of a plurality of fibers each having a star-shaped section. A liner pen (1) according to claim 7, wherein a diameter of a circle circumscribing the star-shaped section of the fibers is substantially the same for all the fibers. Liner pen (1) according to any one of Claims 1 to 8, in which the porosity of the polyester forming the feeder (4) is greater than 68%, preferably greater than 74%.
