Procédé de purification d’un gaz principal, notamment de l'hélium à partir d'un courant gazeux source (1) comprenant le gaz principal , une impureté principale, notamment de l’azote et éventuellement une autre impureté secondaire, notamment de l’oxygène, le procédé comprenant une étape (2) de condensation partielle du courant gazeux pour en extraire des impuretés sous forme liquide, notamment l’impureté principale, et produire un courant gazeux enrichi en gaz principal, caractérisé en ce que le procédé comprend, avant l’étape (2) de condensation partielle, une étape (4) d’injection dans le courant gazeux d’un composé dans lequel l'impureté principale du gaz à traiter est soluble et ayant une pression de vapeur saturante plus basse que la pression de vapeur saturante de l’impureté principale Figure de l’abrégé : Fig. 1
