Description
The present invention named: the Acoustic Seal for Flooring relates to an accessory material to be used in the field of construction. Whether the construction is: real estate, tertiary, hospital, college, university, individual and others. This material is an accessory intended for work involving the installation of floor coverings (tile, parquet or stone type coverings) on acoustic or thermo-acoustic screeds. Its functions are: to ensure perfect separation of the floor coverings against the edges of the floor covering and all the vertical walls of all kinds making up the room or room in which the floor covering is installed (edges made up of: wall concrete, brick wall, all types of partitions, all types of thermal lining, all types of acoustic lining) and to ensure the free expansion of materials. All of this flooring and accessory work is carried out in compliance with the rules of construction art, the NFP standards in force (DTU 52.5 of December 2009, NFP 61-204, DTU 52 -2).
- The creation of an expansion joint on the periphery of the surfaces and rooms in which the floor coverings are laid. According to DTU and NFP standard, this joint is at least 3 millimeters in common cases and 5 millimeters for heated floors: this joint is made manually.
- The realization of a separation by a joint located between the flat and horizontal surface of the floor covering and the peripheral plinth placed vertically on the wall of the room concerned: this joint is made manually.
- Prevent and avoid that the bonding products or the repointing grout (in the case of tile or stone covering) from infiltrating or filling the joints detailed above: this task is manual.
- Finish installing the acoustic insulation which must be positioned between the vertical plinth and the horizontal floor covering. Then cut the insulation that protrudes beyond the baseboard: this task is manual.
- Finish the floor covering work with a “pump seal” which remains visible: this task is manual.
- It should be noted that this "pump seal" must be replaced over time, especially when it is located in a so-called wet room or room (bathroom, WC, kitchen, etc.). The frequency of its replacement depends on the duration of use mentioned on the technical data sheet of the “pump seal” product used.
The present invention, named: Acoustic seal for flooring, responds factually to the problem posed by changes in the acoustic regulations in force for the acoustic insulation of buildings, in particular for residential use. Indeed, professionals in the construction sector (Prime contractors, Architects, Technical studies office, Contractors and suppliers) have recommended the production of so-called acoustic screeds (or thermo-acoustic screeds) These acoustic screeds meet the standard of DTU 52-10 which describes an acoustic insulation of the floors carried out by the installation of a thin acoustic insulation under the concrete screed (or in another material). This acoustic insulation improves the comfort of the habitat or the other use of the room and, it attenuates impact noise in adjacent, contiguous or superimposed rooms. In addition, the vertical rise of the acoustic insulation on the periphery (or by using an accessory product) must ensure separation of the screed and the floor covering from the vertical walls located on the periphery of the floor covering: this that is to say to eliminate all the possibilities of transmission of structure-borne noise emitted in a room or a room in another room or room. These structure-borne transmissions are the source of the majority of non-compliance with acoustic regulations and/or housing certification. However, this process of acoustic screeds, which is effective, has a sensitive zone and a weak point located at the junction of the horizontal floor covering and the baseboard or the vertical wall which is at the periphery because it is carried out by a succession of manual tasks described above. -before: all manual tasks are by definition random.
It is sometimes found that the acoustic insulation which must protrude vertically above the screed is either cut, torn or damaged, which does not allow to pass and carry out the next stage without a recovery and repair of the defects of work concerned.
- b3: Retourner à l’horizontal l’isolant acoustique.
- Horizontally, the screed on which the tiling type covering will be applied.
- Vertically, on the periphery of the room or premises, a wall at the foot of which the acoustic insulation must protrude to a height of 10 to 15 cm.
- b1: Glued laying of the tiled floor covering.
- b2: Repoint the tiling with a grout.
- b3: Flip the acoustic insulation horizontally.
- b4: Lay the tiling plinth with glue at the foot of the vertical walls and around the entire periphery of the room or premises.
- b5: Cut the part of the acoustic insulation that protrudes from the foot of the plinth.
- b6: Make a finishing joint to fill and seal the free space between the skirting board and the tiles.
- To delete the manual tasks described above by n°b3 /b5/b6.
- To guarantee the acoustic efficiency of the acoustic screed system.
- To suppress the transmission of noise by structure-borne contact in the sensitive area of the work described above, namely: on the periphery of rooms or premises in line with baseboards
- To guarantee the aesthetic and architectural finish of the visible part of the Acoustic Joint for flooring under the plinth.
