Description
The invention relates to a vehicle headlight, an associated vehicle and a support for a headlight motor.
To improve the comfort of a vehicle driver when driving with low light, or even a total absence of light, it is advantageous for the front headlights of the vehicle to be adjustable.
For example, document US Pat. No. 6,641,292 describes a lighting axis adjustment device for vehicle headlights. This type of device comprises a motor for transforming an electric pulse into an angular movement, an automatic angle adjustment structure for automatically adjusting the angle of the headlight illumination axis by driving said motor and a structure manual angle adjustment for manually adjusting the angle of the lighting axis of said headlight. These two adjustment structures are integrated together to save mounting space. The angle of the illumination axis can be adapted both in vertical directions and in horizontal directions.
Document US 7,387,415 describes an optical unit which comprises an optical module which is oriented by means of a rotation shaft driven by an actuator.
In some cases, the orientation of the light units is aligned with the angle of the steering wheel imposed by the driver and thus makes it possible to optimize the comfort of the latter as much as possible. A set of sensors allows the headlight units to follow the trajectory of the vehicle. This type of optical units is better known as adaptive headlights.
Examples of the operation of adaptive front headlights are described in document US 2011/0128748 or in document US 7,511,440. In these types of lighting systems, horizontal aiming and vertical aiming mechanisms must work together in order to aim the optical block in the desired direction. Different mechanisms can be associated with it in order to optimize these lighting systems.
Thus, document FR 2 845 048 describes an adaptive front lighting system which comprises a device for deflecting the optical axis of illumination in the left-right direction, a device for deflecting said axis in the vertical direction and a device deflection control for preventing dazzling of the driver of an oncoming vehicle during the initialization operation of the adaptive system. The left-right deflection device is placed under the lower part of the optical module support and is connected by a wiring harness to the deflection control device. The deflection device along the vertical axis is placed on the rear face of the support.
Un système d’éclairage similaire est décrit dans le document US 6,886,957.A similar lighting system is described in US 6,886,957.
In the event of failure of the adaptive system, document FR 2 822 425 proposes that a security system be coupled with this type of adaptive lighting system. An anomaly detection device is indeed included in the system described in this document.
Document FR 2 845 049 describes a light distribution adjustment device intended to deflect the optical lighting axis of a headlight to the right and to the left as a function of the steering angle of the vehicle and which is set in cooperation with an angular position adjustment device. These devices are placed under the bottom of the optical module holder. Document US 7,994,670 describes another example of a light beam deflection mechanism of the same type.
Document US 7,520,646 describes the various components of a device for controlling the deflection of the light beam emitted by lighting systems.
Within the framework of the mechanisms for horizontal orientation of the lighting beam, the document FR 2 817 212 describes a lamp whose direction of lighting of the optical system can be modified by rotation. A rotation transmission mechanism is placed in a housing and is coupled to an output shaft which allows the optical module to pivot along the vertical axis and therefore to orient itself according to the left-right direction of the vehicle. The fact that the transmission mechanism is placed under the optical system is not optimal for reasons of space.
The solutions shown by the prior art use mechanisms which are relatively complex to set up. Thus, many components must be associated with each other, which requires not only to supply these components but also to mount them.
In order to require only a small number of components and hours of assembly, and therefore to overcome at least part of the complexity of the solutions described previously, the document US 7,175,319 describes a lamp body whose direction lighting is modified according to the rolling of the vehicle and which consists of a horizontal drive mechanism integrated into a vertical drive mechanism. A unique biaxial actuator, placed under the lower part of the optical module support, is used to allow the headlight to be aimed horizontally and vertically. Document FR 2 887 613 describes a similar arrangement with the addition of a device for varying the intensity of the light emitted. The advantage of such systems is a reduction in the space used on the vehicle by the various components of the headlight as well as the installation time on the vehicle which is reduced since there is only one actuator to be mounted. .
The object of the present invention is to provide a solution to at least one of the drawbacks encountered in the prior art by proposing a vehicle headlight showing a reduced size and which is simple to install on a vehicle.
To this end, and according to a first aspect, the subject of the invention is a vehicle headlight, said headlight comprising a support, a motor fixed to said support, an optical module configured to be movable in angular rotation using said engine; and means for orienting said optical module. The front headlight is remarkable in that said support comprises a slide and in that the orientation means comprises a crank showing a first end fixed according to a pivot connection to a connecting member connected to said engine, said connecting member being sliding at the within the slide shown by said support; and a second end attached to said optical module; said motor being configured to cause said connecting member to slide in the slide.
As will have been understood on reading the definition which has just been given, the invention proposes a vehicle front headlamp comprising a support showing a slide and which allows, by being associated with an orientation means of said optical module , to guide said orientation means so that the headlamp lighting system can be oriented in a given direction of the vehicle. This new configuration makes it possible to offset the engine and therefore reduce the size of the front headlight, for example its vertical size. Indeed, by comparison with document US 7,175,319 where the biaxial actuator is placed under the lower part of the support of the optical module, the motor of the present invention is not directly under the optical module.
The support therefore has several functions: in addition to the intrinsic function of supporting the front headlight motor, it makes it possible to guide an orientation mechanism of the lighting system of the front headlight of the present invention.
Advantageously, the slide shown by the support is an oblong-shaped opening made in said support.
Preferably, said optical module is configured to be movable in angular rotation along a horizontal plane. Thus, the headlamp lighting system can be oriented in the left-right direction of the vehicle.
According to a first preferred embodiment, said motor comprises a piston connected to said connecting member.
Preferably, said piston is connected to said connecting member by a ball joint.
According to a second embodiment complementary to the first embodiment, the support has one end which forms a chute, the motor being fixed to said chute. The support of the present invention therefore shows a location in which it is possible to fix and/or guide the harness or harnesses of electrical cables which are connected to the motor and/or to the optical module.
Advantageously, the trunking receives at least one bundle of electric cables, the harness or harnesses of electric cables comprising an electric connector. In this case, according to a first variant, the front headlight is remarkable in that the trunking comprises a bottom and two side walls, and is sized to receive and retain a first electrical connector between the two side walls and in that the bottom shows a length less than that of the side walls so that the side walls form two legs in extension which make it possible to retain an additional electrical connector. This makes it possible to retain an additional connector in addition to that in the trunking without having to increase the dimensions of the trunking according to its height.
According to a second variant, the front headlight is remarkable in that the chute comprises two side walls and is sized to receive and retain at least one electrical connector between the two side walls and further comprises at least one means for wedging a connector electric in the longitudinal direction of the chute.
The disconnection of the electrical connectors is thus prevented thanks to one or other of these two variants.
According to a third embodiment, complementary to the first embodiment and/or complementary or alternative to the second embodiment, said optical module being carried by a frame, said front headlight is remarkable in that said support comprises at least one fixing with a fixing interface intended to cooperate with said frame.
Preferably, the attachment interface comprises a threaded passage or a clipping means.
Preferably, said support is made of thermoplastic material.
According to a second aspect, the subject of the invention is a motor vehicle remarkable in that it comprises at least one front headlight according to the first aspect.
According to a third aspect, the subject of the invention is a support for a front headlight motor according to the second embodiment of the first aspect of the invention, noteworthy in that said support is a body showing one end forming a chute on which a vehicle headlight motor is intended to be fixed; and an oblong-shaped opening forming a slide intended to cooperate with a connecting member for the orientation of an optical module.
Preferably, the chute comprises two side walls and is sized to receive and retain at least one electrical connector between the two side walls; more preferably, at least two electrical connectors.
It is understood that all the characteristics described according to the first aspect of the invention can be found, alone or in combination, within the second and/or the third aspect of the invention.
The invention will be well understood and other aspects and advantages will appear clearly on reading the following description, given by way of example, with reference to the drawings in which:
In the following description, the term "include" is synonymous with "include" and is not limiting in that it authorizes the presence of other elements in the headlight, in the vehicle or in the support to which it belongs. reference. It is understood that the term “include” includes the terms “consist of”. The terms "front", "rear", "upper" and "lower" must be understood according to the normal direction of travel of a motor vehicle. In the various figures, the same references designate identical or similar elements.
The present invention relates to a vehicle headlight. FIG. 1 shows the front headlight 1 which comprises an optical module 3 mounted within a frame 5. The motor 7 for moving the front headlight 1 is fixed on a support 9. The optical module 3 is configured to be movable in angular rotation, preferably along a horizontal plane, using said motor 7 and the front headlight 1 therefore comprises means for orienting said optical module 3.
The invention is remarkable in that the engine 7 is offset towards the rear and/or to the side of the vehicle. This allows the optical module 3 not to be superimposed on the engine 7 and therefore to reduce the size generated by the front headlight 1. The ergonomics of the front headlight 1 is thus increased in comparison with that of known headlights.
According to the invention, the means for orienting the front headlight 1 comprises a crank 11 for connecting the optical module 3 and the motor 7, as shown in FIG. 2. The presence of the crank 11 makes it possible to decenter the motor 7 or the actuating means with respect to the axis of rotation of the optical module 3. Thus, the crank 11 shows a first end connected to said motor 7 according to a pivot connection 13 via a connecting member 15. The crank 11 also shows a second end connected to said optical module 3. So that the rotational movement of the optical module 3 can take place, the support 9 is arranged to show a slide 17, preferably formed by an opening 19 of oblong shape. In this way, the connecting member 15 can slide back and forth in the slideway 17, which makes it possible to drive the first end of the crank. As the crank 11 pivots only at its first end, the second end being fixed to the optical module 3, driving the first end of the crank 11 will allow the optical module 3 to move in angular rotation.
Advantageously, the motor 7 comprises a piston 21 connected to the connecting member 15. The dotted arrow indicates the sliding movement of the connecting member 15 within the slide 17.
In a preferred example of the invention, the first end of the crank 11 is fixed according to a pivot connection 13 to the connecting member 15 by a finger 23 which makes it possible to fit into an opening 25 provided for this purpose on the end the first end of the crank 11. The connecting member comprises a cylindrical cavity 27 which can fit on a ball joint 29 present at the end of the piston 21 shown by the motor 7.
In lighting systems where the optical module is adjustable, there is the risk that the bundles 43 of cables necessary for example to supply the light bulbs can become jammed by moving parts. Therefore, advantageously, the support 9 for the front headlight described above can comprise a channel 31 at one of its ends. The channel 31 makes it possible to guide and fix the bundle or bundles 43 of electrical cables. Preferably, the channel 31 is U-shaped. In this configuration, the support 9 for the front headlight of the present invention has three functions. Indeed, in addition to its intrinsic function of supporting the front headlight motor, it can guide the connecting member 15 of the orientation mechanism of the optical module 3 and it can receive the cable harness(es) in the trunking 31.
Furthermore, the cable harness(es) 43 may comprise electrical connectors (45; 47). It is therefore preferable for the trunking 31 to be sized to receive at least one electrical connector. This additional configuration proposed by the invention ensures that the support 9 for the front projector of the present invention has four functions. Indeed, in addition to the three functions already mentioned above, support 9 is configured to prevent the disconnection of one or two electrical connectors.
According to a first variant illustrated in Figures 5 to 7, the chute 31 comprises a bottom 33 and two side walls (35; 37). The bottom 33 shows a length less than that of the side walls (35; 37) so that the side walls form two tabs (39; 41) in extension which make it possible to retain an additional electrical connector 47 in addition to the electrical connector 45 disposed in the chute 31 without having to increase the dimensions of the chute 31 according to its height. Advantageously, the trunking 31 can retain two electrical connectors (45; 47) arranged at different heights.
According to a second variant, the chute comprises two side walls and is sized to receive and retain at least one electrical connector between the two side walls and further comprises at least one means for wedging an electrical connector in the longitudinal direction of the chute .
The multifunction support of the present invention is simple to mount, and can for this purpose have one or more fixing lugs 49 (as shown in FIGS. 2 and 4 to 7) which serve to attach the support 9 to the frame 5 of the front headlight 1. The fixing lug(s) 49 have at least one fixing interface which may comprise a threaded passage or a clipping means, preferably a threaded passage. Figures 4 and 5 show a fixing lug 49 disposed at one end of the support having two fixing interfaces each comprising a threaded passage. It is preferable to place at least three fixing lugs 49 so as to stabilize the support when it is mounted on the frame 5. Thus, when the connecting member is driven by the motor in the slide shown by the support and subsequently causes the rotation of the optical module 3 thanks to the crank 11, the support will not be able to move. As can be seen in Figures 4 and 5, in addition to the fixing lug 49 arranged at one end of the support, two other fixing lugs 49 are arranged around the chute 31. In addition to fixing the support 9 to the frame 5, these two fixing lugs 49 arranged around the trunking contribute to the placement of the electrical harness(es) in the trunking.
The multifunction support of the present invention is preferably made of thermoplastic material, such as for example polyoxymethylene, polyethylene terephthalate, or polycarbonate. The support is for example manufactured by injection molding.
