L’invention concerne un caisson pour véhicule automobile comprenant une structure de caisson et une pluralité de parois formées sur ladite structure de caisson pour définir un espace intérieur du caisson, au moins une paroi latérale comportant une porte d’accès comprenant :- un panneau supérieur articulé par rapport à la structure de caisson et - un panneau inférieur articulé par rapport au panneau supérieur, la porte d’accès étant configurée de sorte que les panneaux supérieur et inférieur sont contigus lorsque la porte d’accès est en position de fermeture et en regard l’un par rapport à l’autre lorsque la porte d’accès est en position d’ouverture,dans lequel la porte d’accès est configurée pour positionner le panneau inférieur dans le prolongement de la paroi latérale lorsque la porte d’accès est en position d’ouverture.
