Procédé de détermination (100) d’un couple résistant résiduel de colonne de direction d’un véhicule automobile comportant une colonne mobile en rotation autour d’un axe et apte à transmettre des mouvements de braquage des roues, Caractérisé en ce que ledit procédé comporte une étape de mesures d’efforts (110) avec un braquage des roues alternatif autour d’un point zéro degré de rotation de ladite colonne.
