Abstract

La présente invention concerne un procédé d'utilisation d'une batterie disposant d'une électrode fonctionnant selon un mécanisme de complexation d'anions et au sein de laquelle le matériau actif d'électrode est un polyviologène caractérisé en ce que ledit polyviologène est un matériau insoluble dans l'électrolyte de ladite batterie et en ce que les conditions électrochimiques d'usage de ladite batterie sont ajustées pour que son processus de cycle de charge/décharge, soit établi sur la réaction redox à 1 électron entre la forme oxydée à 1 électron des motifs viologènes dudit polyviologène, dites radical cation, et leur forme totalement réduite, dites, forme neutre de polyviologène.
