Title of the invention: Articulation piece for table [0001] The invention relates to the technical field of furniture and particularly to the field of tables. More specifically, the invention relates to tables whose table is movable relative to the base of said table.

Conventionally, the term “table” means any piece of furniture comprising a flat surface known as a “tray”, intended to be horizontal in its main use, the tray resting on a base comprising one or more feet.

TECHNOLOGICAL BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION Some tables are equipped with an articulation allowing the rotation of the plate of substantially 90 ° relative to the base of the table so that the plate extends vertically. Thanks to this feature, the tables can be stored and stored in a small footprint in a first position in which the table is vertical and can be used conventionally in a second position, in which the table is horizontal. This functionality is particularly advantageous for businesses needing a large number of tables but requiring, after service, to store these tables quickly and easily with the least possible footprint.

The articulation of these tables is generally placed between the plate and the base and comprises, like a hinge, a first part fixed to the plate and a second part fixed to the base, the two parts being connected by a pivot axis. This joint is very often stressed and can wear out. In addition, when the tray is pivoted from one position to the other, the tray slams against the base, which fortement greatly damages.

OBJECT OF THE INVENTION The aim of the invention is to remedy all or part of the aforementioned drawbacks and in particular to provide a table hinge making it possible to avoid premature wear of the tray.

To this end, the invention relates to a hinge part for a table, said hinge part being configured to allow the rotation of a table top with respect to a base of the table, the articulation piece comprising at least a first part intended to be fixed on the table top, and a second part intended to be fixed on the at least one base of the table, the first part of the articulation piece being configured to be movable in rotation relative to the second part along a pivot axis, the first part moving between at least one position of use in which the first part is opposite the second part and a storage position in which the first part extends in a secant direction, and preferably perpendicular, to the second part, characterized in that the articulation part comprises at least one damping stop partially arranged between the first part and the a second part of the articulation piece, at least a portion of the stop being configured to bear against the second part when the first part is in its position of use.

Advantageously, at least a portion of the stop allows the pivoting of the first part from the storage position to the use position to be damped. Thus, the plate on which the first part is fixed is less subject to risks of wear due to possible breakdowns of the plate against the base when the latter is folded back into the position of use.

According to a characteristic of the invention, the damping stop is made elastically deformable and is preferably made of elastomer.

According to a characteristic of the invention, the first part of the articulation piece comprises a first face oriented towards the second part and a second face intended to be secured to the table top, the second face of the first part of the articulation piece comprising a housing in which the damping stop is housed.

According to a characteristic of the invention, the housing comprises at least one through recess opening on the first face of the first part and on the second part of the articulation piece.

According to a characteristic of the invention, the damping stop comprises at least one stop tab opening onto the first face of the first part and configured to cooperate with the second part in order to damp the rotation of the first part in storage position. This functionality makes it possible to add friction and therefore to cushion the plate when it is positioned in the storage position.

Advantageously, the abutment tab is shaped to be inserted at least partially into a recess provided in the housing of the first part and opening onto the first face of the first part.

According to a characteristic of the invention, the damping stop further comprises two symmetrical extensions opening onto the first face of the first part.

These extensions are configured to create friction on the pivot axis so that whatever the position in which the first part is located relative to the second part, the first part is held in position, even in the intermediate position .

According to a feature of the invention, the extensions are preferably symmetrical with respect to a median longitudinal axis of the stop.

Furthermore, these extensions are shaped to be housed at least partially in each in a recess provided in the housing of the first part. An extreme portion of the extensions opens onto the first face of the first part. According to a characteristic of the invention, the damping stop further comprises at least one lug opening on the first face of the first part and configured to make up for the play between the first part and the second part of the part d articulation and to keep the first part under stress on the second part when the first part is in the position of use.

According to a characteristic of the invention, the damping stop comprises at least two studs opening onto the first face of the first part and configured to dampen engagement and disengagement of the locking of the position of the articulation piece.

These studs prevent premature wear of the latch and its snapping into abutment in the first part of the articulation piece.

The accessory holder allows accessories to be held under the tray in the use position.

Preferably, the articulation piece comprises two accessory doors symmetrical with respect to a median longitudinal axis of the first part of the articulation piece.

The invention also relates to a table comprising a tray, at least one base, characterized in that the table comprises at least one articulation part according to the invention, the first part of the articulation part being secured to the plate and the second part of the articulation part being secured to the base.

Advantageously, when the table top is of a determined length, it is advantageous for the table to comprise two articulation pieces each associated with a leg portion.

Description of the embodiments Table 1 according to the invention is shown in Figures 1 to 4 in two different formats. In simple format in Figures 1 and 2 and in double format in Figures 3 and 4. The difference between these two formats is the base and the number of articulation pieces. The description below will describe a hinge part applicable to any table format 1 according to the invention.

The table 1 according to the invention comprises a plate 2 articulated on a base 3 comprising a plurality of feet 4, as illustrated in Figures 1 to 4. To this end, the table 1 according to the invention comprises a piece of articulation 5 as illustrated in FIGS. 2 and 4. The articulation part 5 being configured to allow the articulation of the plate 2 relative to the base 3.

For a table 1 of simple format, illustrated in Figures 1 and 2, a single articulation piece 5 is necessary and preferably positioned in the center of the plate 2. For a table 1 of double format, illustrated in Figures 3 and 4 , two articulation pieces 5 are necessary, each arranged on one side of the plate and substantially centered on a median longitudinal axis of the plate 2.

Whatever the format of table 1, the detailed description of the articulation piece 5 applies with reference to FIGS. 5 to 15.

According to the invention, the articulation part 5, as illustrated in particular in Figures 5 to 7, comprises at least a first part 51 intended to be fixed on the plate 2 and a second part 52 intended to be fixed on the base 3 or foot (s) 4.

The second part 52 is preferably fitted onto the base 3 or the leg (s) 4 of the table 1, as illustrated in FIGS. 2 and 4.

The first part 51 is movable in rotation about a pivot axis 53, relative to the second part which is fixed, as will be described with reference to FIGS. 8 to 15.

In the example illustrated in Figure 5, the second portion 52 includes a housing 52a shaped to accommodate the pivot axis 53.

The first part 51 is movable between at least one position of use illustrated in Figures 1, 3, 8 to 11 and a storage position illustrated in Figures 2, 4, 14 and 15.

In the use position, the first part 51 is opposite the second part 52 and more particularly superimposed on the second part 52 and in abutment against the latter in particular because of the weight of the plate 2 which with gravity presses on the first part transmitting the forces to the second part 52 transmitting them itself to the base 3. In the use position, the plate 2 is positioned horizontally, as can be seen in FIGS. 1 and 3.

In the storage position, the first part 51 extends in a secant direction, and preferably perpendicular, to the second part 52. In this storage position, the plate 2 is vertical, as visible in FIGS. 2 and 4.

According to the invention, the articulation part 5 comprises at least one damping stop 6 partially arranged between the first part 51 and the second part 52 of the articulation part 5, as illustrated in FIG. 7. Thus, at least a portion (61, 62, 63, 64) of the stop 6 being configured to bear against the second part 52 when the first part 51 is in its position of use.

As can be seen in Figures 5 to 7, the first part 51 of the hinge part 5 comprises a first face 51a oriented towards the second part 52 and a second face 51b intended to be secured to the plate 2 and comprising a housing 51c in which the damping stop 6 is housed, as illustrated in FIG. 6.

As visible in particular in Figures 5 and 7, the housing 51c comprises at least one through recess (71, 72, 73, 74) opening onto the first face 51a of the first part 51 and therefore opening onto the second part of the hinge piece 52.

According to the invention, the damping stop comprises at least one stop tab 61, illustrated in particular in FIG. 5, opening onto the first face 51a of the first part as illustrated in FIG. 7. The at least one tab of stop 61 is configured to cooperate with the second part 52 in order to dampen the rotation of the first part 51 in the storage position. In addition, this stop tab 61 is shaped to be inserted at least partially into a recess 71 provided in the housing 51c of the first part 51 and opening onto the first face 51a of the first part 51, as visible in FIGS. 6 and 7 .

As illustrated in Figure 5, the damping stop 6 further comprises two extensions 62 symmetrical with respect to a median longitudinal axis of the damping stop. These extensions 62 lead to the first face 51a of the first part 51 and are configured to create friction on the pivot axis 53 so that whatever the position in which the first part 51 is located relative to the second part 52 , the first part 51 is held in position, even in the intermediate position as illustrated in FIGS. 12 and 13.

Furthermore, these extensions 62 are shaped to be housed at least partially in each in a recess 72 provided in the housing 51c of the first part 51. An extreme portion of the extensions opens onto the first face 51a of the first part 51 , as illustrated in figure 7.

As illustrated in Figure 5, the damping stop 6 further comprises at least one lug 63 partially opening onto the first face 5la of the first part 51 and configured to make up for the play between the first part 51 and the second part 52 of the articulation part 5 and to keep the first part 51 under stress on the second part 52 when the first part is in the position of use. Advantageously, the at least one lug 63 is a transverse strip, only the ends of which open onto the first face 51a of the first part 51, in through recesses 73, as illustrated in FIG. 7.

As illustrated in Figure 5, the damping stop 6 comprises at least two studs 64 opening onto the first face 51a of the first part 51, configured to dampen the engagement and disengagement of the locking of the position of the part of articulation.

Advantageously, the studs 64 are housed in through recesses 74 opening onto the first face 5la of the first part 51 and coming into abutment in recesses 84 of the movable lock 8 in order to dampen the translation of the movable lock 8 when this the latter is in abutment to lock the position of the articulation piece 5 and when the latter is in abutment to unlock the position of the articulation piece 5, as illustrated in FIG. 7.

According to the invention, the articulation part 5 comprises a first handle 54 formed on the first part 51 of the articulation part 5. This handle allows the lifting of the table 1 and facilitates its transport, as illustrated in Figures 2, 4 to 15.

According to the invention, the articulation piece 5 comprises at least one accessory holder 55 extending in a protruding manner relative to the first part. The accessory holder 55 is advantageously positioned on the first part 51 of the articulation piece 5. Preferably, the articulation piece 5 comprises two accessory holders 55 symmetrical with respect to a median longitudinal axis of the first part 51 of the hinge part 5.

According to a characteristic of the invention, the articulation piece 5 comprises at least one movable lock 8 in translation partially housed in the first part 51 of the articulation piece 5, the movable lock 8 being configured to block the articulation piece 5 in the storage position and / or in the use position, as illustrated in FIG. 5. According to the invention, the latch 8 comprises a handle 81 shaped to be housed substantially in the handle 54 of the piece of articulation 5, as illustrated in FIGS. 5, 8 to 15.

In the example illustrated in FIG. 5, the second part 52 further comprises at least one bevelled portion 52b in the form of a slope configured for approaching the latch 8 in the first part 51 of the articulation part 5 and in particular the approaching of the end portions 82 of the latch 8, illustrated in FIG. 5.

Figures 8 to 15 illustrate the main positions of the hinge part 5. In particular, in Figures 8 and 9, the first part 51 is in the locked position of use: the latch 8 blocking the position of use . In FIGS. 10 and 11, the first part 51 is still in the use position but unlocked, the handle 81 of the latch 8 is actuated while requesting a spring 83 allowing the release of the end portions 82 of the latch 8. In FIGS. 12 and 13 the first part 51 is in an intermediate position between the use position and the storage position. In Figures 14 and 15, the first part 51 is in the storage position in which the first part 51 is substantially perpendicular to the second part 52.
