Abstract

The invention relates to a motor vehicle tool storage assembly comprising: a tool kit (20) comprising at least two plies (24, 42) applied opposite one another, defining at least one pocket ; holding members (62, 64, 66, 68) for holding said tool kit (20) against a portion of the inner wall (10) of a substantially vertical motor vehicle, so that said at least one pocket extends substantially vertically. Said holding members (62, 64, 66, 68) hold one of said folds (24) of said tool kit (20) extended against said inner wall portion (10).

Description

Motor vehicle tool storage assembly

The present invention relates to a tool assembly for storing motor vehicles.

Motor vehicles today require little maintenance by their driver. However, a minimum of tools must be kept inside the vehicle, if only those necessary to replace a punctured wheel. Also, most motor vehicles have a tool kit including a jack and this tool kit is housed in the trunk of the vehicle. In order to avoid it being moved in motion inside the boot when the vehicle is in the driving situation, the tool kit is usually housed inside the wheel, under the floor of the boot of the motor vehicle. . Also, in the event of damage and when the tools are necessary, it is necessary to unload the boot, access the wheel and the tool kit and then open the latter in order to be able to release the desired tool or tools. In broad daylight and in ideal climatic conditions, this operation is already delicate and it is even more so, at night and in bad weather.

Also, it has been imagined to attach the tool kit in one of the corners of the trunk, and in particular in one of the corners located behind the lights. It is then easier to access the tools in the tool kit. However, extracting a tool from the tool kit is still difficult.

Also, a problem which arises and which aims to solve the present invention is to provide a tool storage assembly which allows both to install the tools in a part of a motor vehicle which is not troublesome for access the vehicle’s free spaces, which also allows you to quickly extract the required tools.

To this end, the present invention provides a motor vehicle tool storage assembly comprising: a tool kit comprising at least two plies applied one next to the other by defining at least one pocket; holding members for holding said tool kit against a substantially vertical portion of the internal wall of a motor vehicle, so that said pocket extends substantially vertically. Said holding members hold one of said folds of said extended tool kit against said inner wall portion. A fold here is a layer of thin material. Also, the internal wall portion of a motor vehicle is preferably the lateral internal wall of the rear boot of the vehicle.

Thus, a characteristic of the invention lies in the use of holding members making it possible to hold said one of said folds of the tool kit attached to the inner wall portion. The other of said folds applied opposite said one of said folds and which is integral therewith, then defines at least one pocket for receiving tools. In this way, it is easy to access said at least one pocket which extends along the internal wall portion of a motor vehicle, without having to extract the tool kit. The latter can remain against the internal wall portion of the vehicle.

According to a particularly advantageous embodiment of the invention, said two plies are produced in an elastically deformable fabric. In this way, said at least one of said two plies is applied perfectly against the inner wall portion whatever its shape. Preferably, the tool kit is held against a convex portion of the internal wall of the motor vehicle. In addition, thanks to the elastically deformable fabric, it overcomes the noise caused by the vibrations of the motor vehicle. Indeed, the elastic fabric plays a role of shock absorber against the inertial masses that are the tools contained in the pocket. It will be observed that the two plies of elastically deformable canvas can easily be sewn together in order to be able to produce said pocket.

Also, said at least one of said folds has an upper edge and two opposite side edges, and in a particularly advantageous manner, said holding members cooperate with said upper edge. In other words, the tool kit is held against the internal wall portion of the vehicle by means of the upper edge of the fold which is engaged in the holding members. These are integral with the internal wall portion of the vehicle as will be explained below.

In addition, said tool kit comprises a third fold mounted hinged on the edge of said one of said folds so that it can be folded against said pocket and be connected to the other of said edges. Thanks to this third fold, which is for example made in said elastically deformable canvas, it is possible to cover said at least one pocket when the latter contains tools. In this way, it is avoided that these are extracted from said at least one pocket under the effect of the vibrations of the vehicle or of its movements.

Preferably, said retaining members comprise at least two hooks able to be secured to said wall portion in two zones spaced apart substantially horizontally from one another. Thanks to the hooks, the upper edge of said at least one of said folds is extended substantially horizontally against the internal wall portion of the motor vehicle. In this way, said at least one of said plies extends by gravity against the inner wall portion. As will be explained in more detail in the following description, said at least one of said folds is rectangular in shape and its four corners are then held in a fixed position against the inner wall portion. This allows better attachment of the tool kit against the inner wall.

According to a particularly advantageous embodiment of the invention, said hooks are mounted on studs welded to said inner wall portion. Welding studs are well known and they are usually used in the automotive industry. They make it possible to avoid drilling and tapping a housing in the wall and, moreover, to be easily secured to thin walls. The stud can be threaded or asperities can be made on its surface to form retaining means. Thus, the hooks can be easily mounted on these studs by screwing or by force drive.

Also, each of said hooks preferably comprises a suspension member adapted to come to project from said wall portion and a stop spout pivotally mounted on said suspension member. Thus, the suspension member is preferably a tubular member which can then be forcibly mounted on the stud by coming to cover it. The suspension member then has a free end equipped with a stopper which is movable between a horizontal position extending in the extension of the tubular member and a vertical position where it extends substantially perpendicular to the tubular member for locking said at least one of said plies as will be explained below.

In addition, said at least one of said plies comprises at least two metal eyelets spaced apart from one another capable of cooperating with said retaining members. The metal eyelets are advantageously mounted in the upper border of the fold indicated above. The metal eyelets are intended to receive the hooks and more particularly the suspension members.

In addition, the other of said folds defines with said one of said folds four successive parallel pockets.

Other particularities and advantages of the invention will emerge on reading the description given below of particular embodiments of the invention, given as an indication but not limiting, with reference to the appended drawings in which:

Figure 1 illustrates in perspective an inner wall portion 10 of the right part of a trunk 12 of a motor vehicle located above the right rear wheel arch. The trunk 12 has a floor 14 in which is a spare wheel housing 16. Thus, a storage assembly 18 according to the invention and comprising a tool kit 20 and holding members 22, is installed in the right side of trunk 12.

Firstly detail with reference to Figure 5, the tool kit 20 according to a first alternative embodiment. Thus, the tool kit 20 comprises a first rectangular fold 24 having an upper edge 26 opposite to a lower edge 25 and two opposite side edges 28, 30. This first rectangular fold 24 is made of an elastically deformable fabric. We choose for example a relatively thick canvas with a basis weight for example between 500 g per square meter and 1000 g per square meter. Its elasticity is advantageously due to the structure of the meshes of its weave, woven or knitted. Elastic threads can also be inserted into the armor to give elasticity. Preferably, the canvas is coated so as to be made waterproof.

Also, the first rectangular fold 24 has four corners, two upper corners 32, 34, two lower corners 36, 38 in each of which is installed a metal eyelet 40.

The tool kit 20 has a second fold 42 applied opposite a lower part 44 of the first rectangular fold 24. In this case, the lower part 44 corresponds to the lower two-thirds of the first rectangular fold 24. Also, the second fold 42 is sewn along five equidistant lines parallel to the longest side of the first rectangular fold 24, while the second fold 42 forms corrugations so as to provide here four successive pockets 46, 48, 50, 52. Advantageously, opposite the upper border 26, the two folds 24, 42 are sewn into the lower border 25, together to close the pockets 46, 48, 50 and 52. Consequently, the pockets 46, 48, 50 and 52 are open towards the upper edge 26, and tools can be inserted therein through the pocket openings, and in particular a jack.

In addition, a third ply 54 is mounted articulated on one of the side edges 28, in order to be able to cover the four pockets 46, 48, 50 and 52. The third ply 54 can be sewn along the side edge on the 28 of the first fold 24 or else form a single piece with the first fold 24.

Also, the third fold 54 is equipped here with a magnetic clasp 56 which then comes to be applied against the inner wall portion 10, when the third fold 54 is folded against the pockets 46, 48, 50 and 52, and there is retained by magnetic forces.

According to a second alternative embodiment shown in Figure 6, in which the elements identical to those shown in Figure 5 and playing the same role have the same reference assigned a prime sign: "'", the third fold 54' is equipped with a female part 58 with a snap-fastening 56 ′, while the edge 30 ′ of the first rectangular fold 24 is equipped with a male part 60. The male part 60 being intended to be engaged inside the female part 58 when the third fold 54 'is folded against the pockets 46', 48 ', 50' and 52 '.

Reference will again be made to FIG. 1 at first, and it will be observed that the first rectangular fold 24 is suspended from two upper hooks 62, 64 integral with the internal wall portion 10 and spaced from one another according to a horizontal direction. The hooks 62, 64 retain the first rectangular fold 24 by the metal eyelets 40 of the two upper corners 32, 34 in which they are threaded. It will be observed that the inner wall portion 10 has two lower hooks 66, 68 corresponding respectively to the upper hooks 62, 64 which are then threaded respectively into the two eyelets 40 of the two lower corners 38, 36 of the first fold 24. It will be observed that the hooks, both upper 62, 64 and lower, 66, 68 are identical.

We will now refer to Figures 3 and 4 illustrating in detail a hook. Figure 4 illustrates in section perpendicular to the inner wall 10, a hook 62. The inner wall portion 10, here covered with a lining 69, includes a stud 70 which has been previously welded against this portion of wall and it s' then extends perpendicularly. The hook 62 then comprises a cylindrical suspension member 72 having an end 74 on which is pivotally mounted about a substantially horizontal axis A and parallel to the wall portion 10, a stopper 76. The stopper 76 has a front end 75 opposite a rear end 77.

The hook 62 is then made integral with the wall portion 10 by forcibly engaging the cylindrical suspension member 72 on the stud 70 which then penetrates inside. Figure 4 thus illustrates the stopper 76 in two positions, a position where it extends substantially in the extension of the cylindrical suspension member 72, the front end 75 is then free, and a position where it s 'extends substantially vertically and, where the front end 75 comes into contact against the lining 69.

Found in perspective in Figure 3, the cylindrical suspension member 72 and the stopper 76 in these two possible positions. It is thus understood that, when the stopper 76 extends in the extension of the cylindrical suspension member 72, the eyelet 40 can then be engaged on the stopper 76 so as to carry the eyelet 40 resting on the cylindrical suspension member 72. Next, the stop spout 76 can be tilted so that its rear end 77 comes to form a stop for the metal eyelet 40, while the end before 75 pinches the fold against the lining 69. In this way, whatever the corner of the first rectangular fold 24, it is made captive of the wall portion 10.

We thus find in Figure 2 the two upper hooks 62, 64 and the two lower hooks 66, 68 corresponding, allowing to maintain the first fold 24 against the inner wall portion 10 of the trunk and hence, to maintain the kit. tool 20 integral with the internal wall 10, as illustrated in FIG. 1.

We understand, see Figure 1, that by removing the third fold 54 of the first fold 24 frees the four pockets receiving tools.

Also, it is possible to completely remove the tool kit 20 by aligning all of the stop spouts 76 and by releasing the first fold 24 from the inner wall portion 10. It is then possible to transport the tool kit 20 to the desired place to extract the tools.

Claims (10)

1. Motor vehicle tool storage assembly comprising: - a tool kit (20) comprising at least two folds (24, 42) applied one opposite the other, defining at least one pocket (46, 48, 50, 52); - holding members (62, 64, 66, 68) for holding said tool kit (20) against an inner wall portion (10) of a substantially vertical motor vehicle, so that said at least one pocket (46, 48, 50, 52) extends substantially vertically; characterized in that said holding members (62, 64, 66, 68) hold one of said pleats (24) of said tool kit (20) extended against said inner wall portion (10). 2. Storage assembly according to claim 1, characterized in that said two folds (24, 42) are made of an elastically deformable fabric. 3. Storage assembly according to claim 1 or 2, characterized in that said at least one of said folds (24) has an upper edge (26) and two opposite side edges (28, 30), and in that said members holding (62, 64) cooperate with said upper edge. 4. Storage assembly according to claim 3, characterized in that said tool kit (20) comprises a third ply (54) mounted articulated on the edge (28) of said one of said plies (24) so that it can be folded against said at least one pocket (46, 48, 50, 52) and be connected to the other of said edges (30). 5. Storage assembly according to any one of claims 1 to 4, characterized in that said holding members (62, 64, 66, 68) comprise at least two hooks capable of being secured to said wall portion (10) in two zones spaced apart substantially horizontally from one another. 6. Storage assembly according to claim 5, characterized in that said hooks (62, 64, 66, 68) are mounted on studs (70) welded to said inner wall portion (10). 7. Storage assembly according to claim 5 or 6, characterized in that each of said hooks (62, 64, 66, 68) comprises a suspension member (72) adapted to come to project from said wall portion ( 10) and a stopper (76) pivotally mounted on said member 5 suspension (72). 8. Storage assembly according to any one of claims 1 to 7, characterized in that said one of said folds (24) comprises at least two metal eyelets (40) spaced from each other capable of cooperating with said members holding (62, 64). ίο 9. Storage assembly according to any one of claims 1 to 8, characterized in that the other of said folds (42) defines with said one of said 15 folds four successive parallel pockets (46, 48, 50, 52).
