Abstract

BUILT-IN DEVICE FOR LIGHT FIXTURE

Technical area

The invention relates to products intended to be recessed, such as lighting units and luminaires.

More particularly, the invention relates to a device allowing the embedding of such products in a wall such as a ceiling, a false ceiling, a wall, or a work plan.

State of the art

A mounting device (or accessory) is intended to allow the integration of a luminous device into a wall such as a ceiling which may be rigid, flexible, brittle or deformable, without deterioration either of the wall or of the luminous device.

An ideal device should be:

- rigid enough to support the light fixture;

- simple, quick and tool-free installation;

- removable for maintenance or replacement of the luminous device;

- free of sources of injury for the user; and

- adaptable to different wall thicknesses (ceilings, walls).

The majority of products known from the state of the art use rocker or mouse swivel type fasteners, alone or with metal tabs.

In the case of rocking springs, a plate-shaped part exerts pressure on the inside of the wall. The maintenance of the device being linked to the tension of the spring which can vary with the thickness of the wall. In certain cases, for example a thick and fragile ceiling, the wall undergoes some damage during the installation and especially with the disassembly of the product.

In the case of a mouse swatter type spring, the maintenance of the product in the wall is directly linked to its thickness.

In this case also, risks of deterioration of the wall are present both at installation and at disassembly.

In addition, the assembly and disassembly of such devices is not easy for the operator and depending on the strength and geometry of the wound springs are possible.

The objective of the present invention is to propose a mounting device making it possible to solve at least part of the problems of the devices known from the state of the art described above.

Description of the invention

To this end, the subject of the invention is a mounting device intended to be fixed in an opening formed in a wall of a wall or a ceiling, said wall comprising an internal face and an external face, said device arranged to receive a luminaire, includes:

a base having a collar intended to be pressed against the external face of the wall, and two racks, rising from the collar, arranged one opposite the other and each comprising two parallel toothed parts,

- two fixing lugs each comprising two lateral slides arranged to cooperate with the toothed parts of one of the two racks by a movement of the fixing lug along said toothed parts of the rack, between a withdrawal position in which the lug fixing is located at a free end of the rack distant from the flange, and a fixing position in which the fixing tab is in contact with the internal face of the wall and locked in this position to fix the base in the opening embedding by locking means.

According to the invention, the locking means comprise first teeth belonging to the toothed parts and at least one second tooth belonging to the fixing tab arranged in a slide opposite the first teeth so as to be locked by snap-fastening with one of said first teeth.

Thanks to the presence of the first teeth on the toothed parts and one or more teeth on the fixing latch, locking / unlocking of the accessory can be achieved by simple snap-fastening.

In addition, the presence of several teeth on the toothed portions allows an adjustment of the positioning of the accessory relative to the thickness of the wall. It thus becomes possible to attach the accessory both to thin walls as to thick walls.

According to one embodiment of the invention, the toothed parts are in the form of a rod.

Advantageously, at least one rack is curved according to an involute profile. This reduces the size of the accessory.

Advantageously, the accessory further comprises a cylindrical side wall having a first end secured to the collar, said side wall comprising the racks. The side wall makes it possible to reinforce the solidity of the device.

According to a preferred embodiment, the cylindrical side wall has a rectangular section.

In other exemplary embodiments, the cylindrical side wall may have a non-rectangular section, for example circular.

Advantageously, the side wall has a second end opposite the first end, said second end being at least partially reinforced by a bottom wall. This bottom wall makes it possible to further strengthen the solidity of the device.

Advantageously, the bottom wall is in two portions connecting two opposite edges of the second end of the cylindrical wall of rectangular section, each further connecting two peripheral portions of the other two edges of the second end.

Advantageously, the device further comprises tilting means arranged to allow tilting of the fixing lug from the waiting position to a withdrawal position and vice versa. Thanks to this tilting of the fixing lugs, the passage of the device in the opening of the wall is facilitated.

According to one aspect of the invention, the tilting means may comprise two lugs arranged at the free end of the rack each belonging to one of said toothed parts, and two clips arranged at a lower end of each slide.

According to another aspect of the invention, the tilting means can comprise two lugs arranged at a lower end of each slide and two housings for receiving these lugs arranged at the free end of the rack each belonging to one of said toothed parts.

According to yet another aspect of the invention, the device can further comprise at least a third rack. This makes it possible to strengthen the fixing and the stability of the device.

Advantageously, at least one fixing lug has a portion of contact with the wall comprising claws. The claws make it possible to strengthen the attachment of the accessory to the wall.

FIG. 1 shows an example of a wall 3, for example a ceiling, comprising an opening 2 intended to receive a mounting device 1 according to the invention. FIG. 2 represents the wall 3 seen from the side of its external face 32 with the device 1 in place.

Figures 3 and 4 show the wall of Figure 2 seen from the side of its internal face 32 with the device 1 being put in place.

In the embodiment illustrated by Figures 2 to 4, the embedding device 1 comprises a base 4 having a flange 41 intended to be pressed against the outer face 32 of the wall 3 as shown in Figure 2. The base also comprises two racks 42, rising from the collar 41, arranged one opposite the other and each comprising two toothed parts 421, 422 parallel and symmetrical, for example in the form of rods. In this exemplary embodiment, the racks are curved according to an involute profile.

In addition, the base 4 comprises a cylindrical side wall 11 which includes the racks 42. In the example illustrated, the side wall 11 is of rectangular section. In other embodiments not shown, the side wall 11 may be of non-rectangular section, for example circular.

The wall 11 has a first end 12 secured to the flange 41. It also has a second end 13 opposite the first end 12 and reinforced by a bottom wall 6 to make the device more solid.

As seen in Figures 3 and 4, the bottom wall 6 comprises two portions 61, 62 connecting two opposite edges 131, 132 of the second end 13 of the cylindrical wall 11 of rectangular section. Each portion 61, 62 further connects two peripheral portions 133, 134, 135, 136 of the other two edges of the second end 13. To allow the claws in the waiting position to remain in a minimum volume, the portions 61 and 62 are here tilted.

The device also comprises two fixing lugs 5 which cooperate with the racks 42 to fix the embedding device 1 to the wall 3 as illustrated in FIG. 5.

FIG. 6A illustrates a first example of fixing lug 5. It comprises two lateral slides 51, 52 intended to cooperate with the toothed parts 421, 422 of a rack 42. It further comprises tilting means arranged to cooperate with tilting means 55 of the rack to allow tilting of the fixing lug from the waiting position I to a pivoting position II or vice versa.

More specifically, in the embodiment of Figures 6A and 6B, the tilting means comprise two lugs 55 arranged at the free end 423 of the rack 42 each belonging to one of the toothed parts 421, 422, and two clips 54 arranged at a lower end 511 of each slide 51, 52.

In the second embodiment illustrated by FIGS. 7A and 7B, the fixing lugs 5 ′ are identical to the fixing lugs 5 except in that the tilting means comprise two lugs 54 ′ arranged at a lower end 511 ′ of each slide 51, 52 and two receiving housings 55 ′ of these lugs 54 ′ arranged at the free end of the rack 42 ′ each belonging to one of said toothed parts 421 ′.

During the introduction of the device 1 into the opening 2 of the wall 3, the fixing lugs 5; 5 'are in the waiting position I towards the interior of the device, this allows easy passage through the opening 2. Subsequently, thanks to the tilting means, the tabs can be tilted towards the pivoting position II.

In the pivoting position II, shown in FIG. 4, the fixing lug 5 is located at a free end 423 of the rack 42 which is located at a distance from the flange 41. From the pivoting position II the lug 5; 5 ′ can then be moved to a fixing position III and guided by simple sliding of the slides 51, 52 following the path imposed by the rack 42; 42 '.

In the fixing position III, as illustrated in FIG. 5, the fixing tab 5 is in contact with the internal face 31 of the wall 3 and locked in this position to fix the base 4 in the opening 2.

The locking means comprise first teeth 424 belonging to the toothed parts 421, 422; 421 'of the rack and at least one second tooth 53 belonging to the fixing lug 5; 5 ′ arranged in a slide 51, 52 opposite the first teeth 424 so as to be locked by snap-fastening with one of said first teeth 424.

Depending on the nature and thickness of the wall, it is then possible to adjust the clamping pressure by pressing on the top of the fixing lug 5; 5 '.

Advantageously, the fixing lug 5; 5 ′ may comprise a contact portion 57 with the wall 3 comprising claws 56. This makes it possible to strengthen the fixing of the fixing lugs 5; 5 'on the wall 3.

Advantageously, the device can comprise at least a third rack and at least a third fixing lug to reinforce the fixing and the stability of the device.

Claims (11)

1. Embedding device (1) intended to be fixed in an opening (2) formed in a wall (3) of a wall or a ceiling, said wall (3) comprising an internal face (31) and a external face (32), said device (1) arranged to receive a luminaire, comprises: - a base (4) having a collar (41) intended to be tackled against the external face (32) of the wall (3), and of them racks ( 42), going back from the collar ( 41), arranged one opposite of the other and each comprising of them parts toothed (421, 422) parallel, - two legs of fixing (5; 5 ': ) each including of them slides (51 , 52 ) lateral arranged to cooperate with the toothed parts (421, 422) of a of the two racks (42) through a displacement of the fixing lug (5; 5 ') along said toothed parts (421, 422) of the rack (42), between a pivoting position (II) in which the fixing lug (5; 5') is located at a free end (423) of the rack (42) distant from the flange (41), and a fixing position (III) in which the fixing lug (5; 5 ') is in touch with the face internal (31) from the wall (3) and locked in this position for to stare the base (4) in 1'ouverture Recessed (2) by of the means of locking, characterized in this that means of lock include first teeth (424) belonging to the toothed parts (421, 422) and at least one second tooth (53) belonging to the fixing lug (5; 5 ') arranged in a slide (51, 52) opposite the first teeth (424) so as to be locked by snap-fastening with one of said first teeth (424). 2. Device (1) according to one of claims 3 or 4, wherein the side wall has a second end (13) opposite the first end, said second end (13) being at least partially reinforced by a bottom wall (6). 6. Device (1) according to claim 5 combined with claim 4, wherein the bottom wall (6) is in two portions (61, 62) connecting two opposite edges (131, 132) of the second end (13 ) of the cylindrical wall (11) of rectangular section, each further connecting two peripheral portions (133, 134, 135, 136) of the two other edges of the second end (13). 7. Device (1) according to any one of claims 1 to 6, further comprising tilting means (54, 55; 54 ', 55') arranged to allow tilting of the fixing lug (5; 5 ' ) from the standby position (I) to a pivoting position (II) and vice versa. 8. Device (1) according to claim 7, wherein the tilting means comprise two lugs (55) arranged at the free end (423) of the rack (42), and two clips (54) arranged at a lower end (511) of each slide (51, 52). 9. Device (1) according to claim 7, in which the tilting means comprise two lugs (54 ') arranged at a lower end (511') of each slide (51, 52) and two receiving housings (55 ') of these lugs (54 ') arranged at the free end of the rack (42') each belonging to one of said toothed parts (421 '). 10.
