Abstract

La présente invention concerne un procédé de traitement d'une fibre en carbure de silicium par un procédé de dépôt chimique en phase vapeur réactive, ledit procédé comprenant : - la mise en contact de la fibre avec du BCl3 à une température >/=1100°C en présence d'hydrogène, - l'élimination du silicium sous forme gazeux, en particulier sous forme de SiCl4, de SiCl2 et/ou de SiCl3H gazeux et - la récupération de la fibre recouverte d'une couche de carbure de bore B4C. Elle concerne en outre les fibres revêtues d'une couche de carbure de bore B4C, la préforme fibreuse et le matériau composite les comprenant, et un procédé de fabrication de la préforme fibreuse et d'une pièce en matériau composite.
