Description

TECHNICAL FIELD This presentation relates to the field of medical devices, and more particularly an orthosis which can be used for a human hip. In particular, this presentation deals with orthotics including a heat treatment function.

TECHNOLOGICAL BACKGROUND An orthosis is called an orthopedic appliance intended to support a deficient locomotor function, typically by being fixed against the affected part. For example, medical belts known as lumbar or abdominal belts are known, intended to perform compression on the lumbar or abdominal area, respectively, to support the joints in these areas and relieve pain.

When used to support the hip, such belts prove to be insufficient, however. Indeed, in certain circumstances, it is noted that the edema spreads. There is therefore a need for a new type of device for the hip, in particular a hip orthosis.

GENERAL PRESENTATION [0004] For this purpose, the present description relates to a hip orthosis, comprising an abdominal or lumbar belt and a heat treatment pocket attached to said belt, the pocket projecting from the belt so as to cover an adjacent area of the body. to the area covered by the belt.

[0005] Such an orthosis is suitable for a hip but can be used to treat other regions of the body, in particular close regions such as the abdomen or the lumbar region.

As indicated above, an abdominal or lumbar belt is an orthopedic belt, generally made of reinforced elastic fabric, able to be worn by a human individual so as to support, maintain or immobilize the abdominal area or lumbar, respectively. Thereafter, we will speak more simply of belt to designate the abdominal or lumbar belt.

A heat treatment pocket, commonly called a heat pocket or cold pocket, or more simply a pocket thereafter, is a medical device formed of a pocket containing a thermal substance capable of heating or cooling a portion of the body, respectively. Such a heat treatment bag can be used in the treatment of edema, pain or bleeding.

Thanks to the fact that the pocket is hooked to the belt and protrudes from the belt, the orthosis described above makes it possible to carry out differential selective treatment in an area adjacent to the area covered by the belt, which has the purpose of effect of limiting, if not preventing, the spread of edema.

In addition, the use of an abdominal or lumbar belt ensures regular and controlled compression of the area to be treated, unlike other types of media.

The heat treatment pocket can be hung inside or outside the belt, the interior designating the face of the belt intended to be pressed against the body of the individual wearing the orthosis.

In some embodiments, the pocket is detachably attached to the belt. It is thus possible to remove the bag and hang it up as desired, for example to regenerate the thermal substance after use of the bag and before subsequent use. Thus, according to one example, the orthosis can be delivered with at least two pockets, one of the pockets being attached to the belt while the other (s) are in the regeneration phase.

In some embodiments, the orthosis includes means for adjusting the position of the pocket relative to the belt. It is thus possible to move the pocket to position it as best as possible according to the morphology of the individual and the position of the adjacent area to be heat treated.

In certain embodiments, the pocket has a proximal part superimposed on the belt and a distal part protruding from the belt, the distal part being wider, parallel to the belt, than the proximal part. When the distal part protrudes towards the bottom of the belt, in the normal wearing position, the fact that the distal part is wider than the proximal part makes it possible to insert a part of the pocket into the crotch of the individual.

Thus, in certain embodiments, the pocket is configured to completely surround a part of the thigh. For example, the distal part of the pocket can completely surround a part of the thigh, that is to say make the complete turn of at least one part of the thigh. It follows a delivery of hot or cold on all of said part of the thigh, outside the thigh but also inside, which improves the treatment.

In some embodiments, the means for hooking the pocket to the belt comprise a retaining element provided with hooks. The attachment means can therefore be implemented quickly and easily. In addition, such means allow a removable attachment. The hooks can be provided directly on the belt, directly on the pocket, or even on an intermediate element. The hooks can cooperate with other hooks or loops provided opposite, on the other parts to be hung.

In some embodiments, the means for hooking the pocket to the belt comprise a strip provided with hooks on its two faces.

In some embodiments, the orthosis includes a fastening strip on the part of the pocket protruding from the belt. For example, the fixing band can be provided on the aforementioned distal part. The fixing band can, according to one example, be intended to go around the thigh to keep the pocket wrapped around the thigh. The fastening strip may be designed to be tightened so as to press the pocket against the adjacent area, for example the thigh. The compression obtained maximizes the effect of the heat treatment.

In some embodiments, the fixing strip is elastic. Depending on how tight it is, the fastening strip thus makes it possible to exert controlled pressure on the part of the pocket protruding from the belt.

In some embodiments, the heat treatment pocket has segmented portions in communication with each other. The segmentation makes it possible to distribute the source of hot or cold of the pocket well, but also to facilitate the shaping of the pocket around the body of the individual wearing the orthosis.

In some embodiments, the pocket is positioned, longitudinally, on a part of the belt configured to cover the side of an individual.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF EMBODIMENTS [0022] A hip orthosis according to a first embodiment is described below with reference to FIG. 1.

The orthosis 10, which can be used for the hip of a human individual, comprises an abdominal or lumbar belt 12 (hereinafter "belt 12"). Figure 1 illustrates the case of a lumbar belt shown flat. The belt 12 extends in a longitudinal direction X and wraps around a height direction L _f transverse to the longitudinal direction X and normally substantially coincident with the height direction of a human being.

In this embodiment, the belt 12 comprises a strip 14 provided with transverse reinforcements 16. The strip 14 may be composed of an elastic material, typically an elastic fabric, over at least the majority of its extent, preferably over its entire extent. Thus, the belt 12 can exert a controlled compression on the body of the individual who wears it, thus performing its orthopedic function. The transverse reinforcements 16 in particular prevent the strip 14 from collapsing on itself. For example, the transverse reinforcements 16 may include metal strips, plastic segments or crushed springs.

The strip 14 may include, on its inner face, that is to say the face illustrated in FIG. 1 and intended to be oriented towards the body of the individual, a region provided with attachment means, in this case loops intended to cooperate with a hook retaining element. Loops can be made of nylon thread.

One or more attachment tabs 18, here three, may be provided at a longitudinal end of the belt 12, in order to close the belt 12 on itself to keep it wrapped around the body, especially around the hip , lumbar or abdomen. In this example, the attachment tabs 18 are intended to overlap and cooperate with an outer part of the belt 12, for example by a hook-in-loop type system. To this end, the belt 12 may have loops at least on part of its outer face. However, another closure system, for example straps, could be used. Furthermore, in this embodiment, a portion 20 is provided at the longitudinal end of the belt 12 opposite the fastening tabs 18. The portion 20 may be formed by a non-elastic fabric intended to cover the belly of the individual. This portion 20 is configured to be incised if necessary, for example for the passage of a catheter.

The orthosis 10 according to this embodiment further comprises a strip 22 provided with hooks on its two faces. These hooks can be configured to cooperate with other complementary hooks or loops, so as to hang the strip 22 on a complementary element. In this sense, the strip 22 forms a retaining element.

In this case, the strip 22, provided with hooks, is configured to cooperate with the strip 14, provided with loops, to produce a reversible or removable attachment system. In this example, the outer face of the strip 22 cooperates with the inner face of the strip 14. On the strip 14 and / or on the strip 22, in particular the outer surface of the strip 22, the loops or hooks can be provided on more or less wide areas, where appropriate offering several possible relative positions of the strip 22 relative to the belt 12.

As will be seen later, the strip 22 also allows the attachment of a heat treatment pocket 26 on the belt 12.

Indeed, the orthosis 10 further comprises a heat treatment pocket 26, or pocket 26. This is a cold pocket, but a heat pocket could also be provided. The cold pocket 26 is formed by a tight polyethylene envelope containing a cryogenic substance, for example as described in patent application FR 3 046 794. Other flexible materials can be used for the envelope, such as polychloride vinyl (PVC), polychloroprene (neoprene) or polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE). At least part of the surface of the pocket 26, possibly the entire pocket 26, can be covered with loops, typically nylon, intended to cooperate with the hooks provided on the outer face of the strip 22, to achieve a reversible or removable hanging system. On the pocket 26 and / or on the strip 22, in particular the inner surface of the pocket 26, the loops or hooks can be provided over more or less extensive areas, where appropriate offering several possible relative positions of the strip 22 relative to pocket 26.

When two opposite faces of the pocket 26 are provided with loops or any suitable means of attachment, it is possible to turn the pocket 26 so that it can be used on the left side (L) or on the right side ( R) of the individual, the two sides being configured to hang on the belt 12. For this purpose, a marking 42 can be made on the pocket 26 to identify the side to be used according to the need.

Thus, the loops of the strip 14 and of the pocket 26, as well as the hooks of the strip 22, form means for adjusting the position of the pocket 26 relative to the belt 12. In addition, the pocket 26 can thus be fixed on the belt 12 in a removable manner.

As shown in Figure 1, the pocket 26 comprises a proximal portion 28 superimposed on the belt 12 and a distal portion 30, protruding from the belt 12 in the transverse direction Z. Thus, more generally, the pocket 26 exceeds of the belt 12 so as to cover an area of the body adjacent to the area covered by the belt 12. In this case, the pocket 26 protrudes from the belt 12 downward, which allows, when the individual wears the orthosis 10 so that the belt supports his hip, that the pocket 26 at least partially covers the thigh of the individual. In fact, the pocket 26 is moreover positioned, longitudinally, that is to say in the longitudinal direction X, on a part of the belt 12 configured to cover the side of an individual. The orthosis 10 may include a fastening strip 32 on the part of the pocket 26 protruding from the belt 12, here the distal part 30. The fastening strip 32 is configured to keep the pocket 26 wrapped around the thigh . By tightening more or less the fastening strip 32, the level of compression of the pocket 26 on the thigh can be adjusted. The fixing strip 32 can be elastic. As illustrated in FIG. 1, the fixing strip comprises in this embodiment an end fixed to the pocket 26 and a free end, in this case provided with hooks. The hooks are configured to cooperate with corresponding loops provided on the rest of the fixing strip 32 and / or on the pocket 26 itself.

To facilitate the winding of the pocket 26 around the thigh, the distal part 28 may be wider, parallel to the belt 12, that is to say in the longitudinal direction X, than the proximal part 26. In this case, the pocket 26 has a trapezoidal portion, the longitudinal dimension of which increases from the proximal part 28 towards the distal part 30. Thus, the distal part 30 has a projection 36, projecting longitudinally relative to the proximal part 28. The advanced 36 is configured to engage in the crotch of an individual. Thus, the pocket 26 can be configured to completely surround a part of the thigh. It is understood that what completely surrounds the thigh part is not only the fixing band 32, but the useful portion of the pocket 26, namely the aforementioned envelope which comprises the heat treatment substance.

The fixing strip 32 can be fixed on the projection 36 of the pocket 26, by a system of hooks in loops or the like.

As indicated above, the heat treatment pocket 26 may have segmented portions 38 in communication with each other. The segmented portions 38 can be delimited, according to an example, by edges 40 here produced by locally welding the two opposite faces of the pocket 26. The edges 40 form a baffle whose different segmented portions 38 communicate with each other inside the pocket 26. These segmented portions allow better homogeneity of the temperature supplied by the pocket 26. In addition, the edges 40 extend in the transverse direction Z, which facilitates the winding of the pocket 26 in the longitudinal direction X .

Figure 2 shows an orthosis according to a second embodiment. In this figure, the elements corresponding or identical to those of the first embodiment will receive the same reference sign and will not be described again.

The orthosis 10 according to the second embodiment differs from that of the first embodiment in that the strip 22 only has hooks on one side. In this embodiment, in order to hook the pocket 26 onto the belt 12, it is for example possible to position the pocket 26 on the belt 12 at the desired location, then hang the strip 22 straddling the belt 12 and the pocket 26, the same face (in this case the outer face) of the strip 22 engaging both the loops of the strip 14 and the loops of the pocket 26. Thus, instead of being provided between the pocket 26 and the belt 12 as in the first embodiment, the band 22 is provided inside the pocket 26 and the belt 12, the pocket 26 then being disposed between the band 22 and the belt 12.

Other fixing variants are possible. For example, the pocket 26 could be hung on the belt 12 outside the belt 12, and not inside as presented above.

Furthermore, the strip 22 could be replaced by a hook portion fixed in a possibly non-reversible manner on the belt 12 or on the pocket 26, for example sewn or glued.

The aforementioned loops of the pocket 26 can be formed directly on the envelope containing the heat treatment substance, or on a cover, in particular textile, in which said envelope is inserted. The characteristics already described transpose mutatis mutandis.

According to other variants, the hooks and loops of the various aforementioned elements can be interchanged or modified according to all technically realistic combinations. More generally, other hooking and fixing means can be provided, for all or part of the hooks and fastenings mentioned above, for example straps, straps, snaps, zippers, etc.

Although the present description refers to specific exemplary embodiments, modifications can be made to these examples without departing from the general scope of the invention as defined by the claims. In particular, individual features of the various illustrated / mentioned embodiments can be combined in additional embodiments.
