Abstract

The object of the invention is a nose pad designed to fit the surface of the wing of a nose by a face (10-1), for a spectacle frame, adaptable on an existing support (20) of pads comprising a cabochon (18), said plate comprising an opposite face (10-2), a longitudinal axis YY 'and a transverse axis XX', characterized in that it comprises a central part (14) with receiving means ( 14-3) projecting from said opposite face (10-2), a post (12) with a body (12-2), a first end (12-1) pivotally mounted in said receiving means (14-3) around a first axis and a second end (12-3) pivotally mounted relative to a second axis. The invention also covers the spectacle frame equipped with a set of two plates according to the invention.

Description

ARTICULATED NOSE PLATE FOR FRAME MOUNT, ADAPTABLE ON AN EXISTING PLATELET BRACKET

The present invention relates to a nose plate for a spectacle frame, adaptable to an existing plate support, regardless of the type of frame made of plastic, metal, or pierced. The invention also covers the spectacle frame equipped with these plates.

The problem of the support of a spectacle frame on the wings of the nose of the wearer is known. Indeed, depending on the morphology, the nose has very different shapes, very narrow noses and very flat noses.

The contact is made by plates mounted on platelet supports, integral with the frame.

By the slight play of the pads relative to the supports, said plates can be oriented somewhat but the position is generally inadequate and the plates are only resting on part of their surface generating marks to the right of the supports and traces for the less unsightly when they are not painful.

A very important progress has been made by the arrangement according to the French patent application FR 3,004,819 which provides support / wafer assemblies with significant degrees of freedom that provide a much better support ergonomics.

Any change in the set requires the change of platelet specific carrier with platelets associated with it even if they can be changed on this specific support.

However, there are many frames with platelet carriers already in place and equipped with free orientation wafers, which is particularly uncomfortable.

These platelet supports comprise a first end forming the fixed part integral with the bridge of the frame or integral with the glasses and a second end forming the reception portion of the plates, in the form of a cabochon.

The wafers have at least one tenon integral with the wafer and come from manufacture with said wafer. This post has a conjugated profile of the cabochon secured to said second end, so that it can proceed to the change of one or both platelets. This perfectly known montage is divided into two categories.

The first category is called "screw".

The cabochon is substantially in the form of a cube with 4 or 5 faces, the sixth face remaining open to receive the tenon of the plate. The tenon comprises a drilling, radial, smooth of a diameter X. A bore passes through two opposite faces of the cabochon, one of the holes being threaded. A screw adapted to screw into the tapping of one of the faces of the cabochon allows mounting, this screw having a diameter x less than X.

This assembly is carried out as follows:

The tenon of the plate is introduced into the cabochon so that its smooth bore is coaxial with the drilling of one of the faces of the cabochon and with the tapping of the other of the faces of said cabochon so that the three elements are coaxial.

The screw is introduced by the first piercing of one of the faces of the cabochon, through the smooth bore of the post and is screwed into the thread of the opposite face of the faces of the cabochon. The tenon is thus maintained in the cabochon and the difference in diameter X-x, causes a game that ensures a certain mobility of the wafer relative to the cabochon, however totally insufficient to cover the considerable differences in nose geometries. It is thus generated a kind of ball joint effect.

In some cases, as indicated above, the cabochon includes only a "cube" with four faces, the assembly remaining strictly identical. This assembly is known in the trade under the term "mini box".

A second category is said to clip.

In this case, the cabochon is a cube with four faces, two of the facing faces being open but, in addition, one of the faces carries a complete median cut in a face, parallel to an edge, of to give elasticity to the profile thus obtained, substantially in C very closed.

In this case, the tenon has protuberances protruding from its surface and the corresponding faces of the "cube", opposite and free of cut, carry depressions of conjugated profile. The assembly can be reversed with depressions on the post and projecting protuberances on the cabochon.

The profiles of protuberances protruding and depressions may be of different diameters and geometries so as to leave a game like, in the case of screw mounting. Note that the game remains more limited than with screw mounting, because the cooperation of the protruding and depression pads ensures the mechanical maintenance of the pellet on the cabochon.

The nose pads secured by this mounting to the mount can be removed at any time to be replaced by pads according to the present invention, without the need for a screwdriver, by simple unclipping.

These assemblies are not satisfactory because the pellets have degrees of freedom of very reduced amplitude, there is a patella effect due to the games but the discomfort of these montages remains and the adaptation to the different configurations and morphologies of nose remains very limited.

The wafers according to the present invention make it possible to obtain a degree of tilting which is much greater than that obtained with the wafers of the prior art, as much for the angle of the face as for the hunting angle, and aims at remedying the disadvantages of the prior art by substituting the platelets according to the present invention for existing platelets, avoiding any modification of the platelet carrier.

It is therefore understood that the number of frames in circulation with this type of cabochon platelet support is extremely important and retrofitting is perfectly possible, in addition to an application on new frames, without any modification.

The wafer according to the present invention is now described in detail according to a particular embodiment, not limiting, with reference to the accompanying drawings, drawings in which the different figures represent:

The first embodiment according to the present invention is now described indifferently with reference to FIGS. 1 to 4.

The wafer according to the present invention comprises a bearing surface 10 and a pin 12.

The bearing surface comprises a face 10-1 intended to come against the wing of the nose of the wearer of a spectacle frame equipped with said plate. The opposite face 10-2 is intended to receive the post 12. The plate is of substantially oval shape with a longitudinal axis YY 'and a transverse axis XX'.

This bearing surface 10 is spatulated in the lower part, Y 'side, to better marry the surface of the wing of a nose, this in a known manner.

This plate comprises for reasons of molding and different natures of material, a central portion 14 attached in a slot 16 formed in the wafer. The manufacture is carried out in one step by bi-material injection. The whole could be monolithic and monomatiere.

This central portion 14 comprises a first face 14-1, adapted to be immobilized in the light 16.

This central portion 14 carries on its second face 14-2 receiving means 14-3 of a first end 12-1 of the tenon. These receiving means 14-3 comprise a housing 14-4 of cylindrical shape, the longitudinal axis is oriented along the axis YY '. The housing 14-4 is open on the part opposite said stud. Lips 14-5 border said housing to release an opening of width l-F. The length of the housing is L and the diameter of said housing is greater than I.

These lips 14-5 are provided on each of the longitudinal edges with a recess 14-6 of width A.

This central portion 14 is monolithic.

The light 16 comprises a peripheral counterbore 16-1 intended to receive the first face 14-1 while the receiving means 14-3 and more particularly the housing 14-4, of smaller dimensions, project through said light 16, on the second side 10-2 of the pellet.

The tenon 12 comprises a first end 12-1, as indicated above, said end having a cylindrical shape of diameter I and length L - a, so that said pin can be introduced into the housing 14-4 of the receiving means 14-3. The longitudinal axis of this cylindrical end 12-1 of the post 12 is oriented along the longitudinal axis YY '.

The body 12-2 of the tenon forms a tee with the first end 12-1 of cylindrical shape, the body being centered with respect to said first end 12-1 of cylindrical shape.

The body 12-2 of the stud is preferably rectangular section. The length of this rectangular section is of dimension along the axis XX 'less than A, so as to pass in the recess 14-6.

The second end 12-3 of the tenon comprises a 12-4 cylindrical head of diameter d and height h.

The body 12-2 of the stud joins the cylindrical head 12-4 off-axis, the extension of the stud body 12-2 passing through a rope of a section of said cylinder.

This offset is provided for an offset upward ie to X, particularly in Figure 1.

The cylindrical head 12-4 is, itself, provided with a bore 12-5, central, formed along an axis WW 'parallel to the axis XX', but offset.

There is shown in broken line a screw cap 18 of the prior art, integral with a support 20 of a wafer, this support being of known type.

Such a cabochon 18 comprises in known manner at least four faces 18-1 to 18-4, forming a rectangular section, or square, with an open face 18-6. The fifth face 18-5 can be opened or closed. One of the faces, the upper face 18-1 generally receives one end of the support 20 of a wafer, this in known manner, the other end of this support being secured to a frame, not shown.

The open face 18-6 is of dimensions D and H with D> d and H> h. This face 18-6 open is oriented towards the wafer vis-à-vis in a mount.

The 12-4 cylindrical head can therefore be housed in the cabochon and be introduced through the open face 18-6.

The cabochon 18 comprises, also in known manner, a bore 18-7, 18-8 on each of the two opposite side faces 18-2 and 18-4, one of the bores being threaded, these two bores being arranged in a manner axis ZZ 'parallel to the axis XX'.

When the cylindrical head 12-4 is introduced through the open face 18-6, the axis WW 'of the bore 12-5 coincides with the axis ZZ'.

A screw V whose end is threaded, is intended to be introduced along these axes coinciding with the assembly, ZZ 'and WW'.

This screw V is introduced through the bore 18-8 and then through the bore 12-5 to screw its threaded end into the thread of the bore 18-7.

The cylindrical head can thus rotate as shown in Figure 3, at an important angle Θ.

The first end 12-1 of the post 12, of cylindrical shape, of diameter I and of length less than L, is snapped into the housing 14-4 of length L and of diameter greater than I receiving means 14-3. The first end 12-1 of the stud 12 can pivot about an axis YY '.

The lips 14-5 have a certain flexibility allowing introduction with a hard point so that the pin once introduced is mechanically maintained in operation but with the possibility of removal for disassembly for a wafer change for example.

This first end 12-1 of the stud 12 can pivot freely in the housing 14-4.

The body 12-2 of the tenon can pass in the recess 14-6 to allow a large amplitude of pivoting of the wafer relative to the tenon, about the axis YY '.

Thus, the plate is secured to the cabochon 18 by snapping on the pin 12, on the one hand, thus allowing angular pivoting about the axis YY 'and by screw mounting, on the other hand, allowing a pivoting around an axis WW '/ ZZ' parallel to the axis XX '.

The assembly can thus be mechanically adjusted to the near functioning games while allowing two degrees of freedom.

There is a considerable advantage, illustrated in FIGS.

In FIG. 5A, it is noted that, from the front, when the nose is fine, the post is in the nominal position. The cabochon support is generally inclined, from the manufacture of an angle of 10 °. When the nose is flat, Figure 5B, the pads rotate and fit perfectly to the nose by changing the angle of the face to reach up to 90 ° or more if necessary. In addition, the post being deported, it is found that even if each plate pivots downward, the cabochon, so the plate support, so the mount remains at the same level.

Similarly, in the view of the two other views of these FIGS. 5, a thin nose sees the plates with a slight pivot about the axis YY ', the flush angle is reduced, whereas when the nose is flat, the pads can pivot well to come to bear on the wing of the nose, over the entire support surface, avoiding any redness and / or pain.

This comes from the fact that the two degrees of freedom are independent, no effect of patella as in the case of the prior art or excessive games to try a comfort orientation, no longer ensure a maintenance of the cabochon level with respect to the mount and cause a lack of centering glasses, in addition to a support often insufficient because of the degree of freedom limited even with a large game. It is understood that screw mounting, it can be substituted for a clipping assembly that is to say that the cabochon is of the type having a slot so as to confer elastic properties. In this case, the second end is not screwed but clipped, the protruding couples and depression forming a pivot axis ZZ 'like the screws.

In this case, the second end 12-3 of the tenon 12 is full and comes to snap pivotally in the cabochon. In this case, it is sufficient to provide the end of the post profile necessary to cooperate in retention with the cabochon while leaving the pivoting.
