Mattress with baby-hold space

The invention relates to the field of mattresses, in particular infant mattresses.

Mattresses intended for bedding, for example infant mattresses, generally comprise a parallelepiped body having two planar faces.

In such mattresses, during the so-called birth phase, up to approximately 12 months from birth, when an infant is placed on the upper face of the mattress, removable elements, such as cushions or sausages, are arranged on each side to serve as baby wedges to keep the infant lying on his back.

However, such removable elements can move and no longer ensure their function of baby-hold, which can create a risk of suffocation if the infant turns over on the belly.

To solve this problem, there are baby wedges sold separately from the mattress and which can be fixed to it, making it possible to effectively hold a baby in a lying position on the back. However, such baby wedges are only used during the first months of birth and are relatively expensive.

The present invention aims to provide a mattress, comprising a simple and inexpensive solution to also ensure effective support of an infant lying on the back, in particular during the birth phase, without the need to add elements exteriors.

To this end, the invention relates to a mattress comprising a mattress body, for example made of foam, of substantially parallelepiped shape and a covering enveloping the mattress body, it is characterized in that it comprises a first face comprising a recess substantially rectangular forming an infant sleeping area, having a length L, a width W and a depth P, the width W being less than a width of the mattress body.

The presence of the recess on the first face makes it possible to create a difference in thickness between the sleeping area of width W and the rest of the width of the mattress. As the thickness of the sleeping area is lower, a baby lying on its back in this sleeping area remains blocked in this position by the extra thickness which is on both sides of the mattress according to the width of the latter. We therefore obtain a baby wedge easy to use without the need to add any additional element.

Advantageously, the recess is arranged along a longitudinal axis XX ′ passing through a center of the mattress body. This allows to have the recess in the axis of the mattress body.

Advantageously, the width of the recess is centered around the longitudinal axis XX '. This makes it possible to center the recess around the axis XX '.

The width W of the recess is, for example, between 20 cm and 40 cm.

Advantageously, the length of the recess is equal to a length of the mattress. Thus, the recess is heard over the entire length of the mattress.

Advantageously, the mattress further comprises a removable body capable of filling the recess, having substantially a thickness equivalent to the depth P, a width equivalent to the width W and a length equivalent to the length L. This removable body makes it possible to fill the recess when it is not used. For example, this removable body allows you to continue using the same mattress after the birth phase.

Advantageously, the covering comprises at least one flexible face covering the first face of the mattress body. The flexibility allows the fabric to adapt to the shape of the recess.

Advantageously, the flexible face comprises a breathable fabric. This fabric allows air to pass through.

Advantageously, the mattress further comprises at least one removable secondary body disposed between the mattress body and the covering, said secondary body having a length less than half the length of the mattress, a width equal to the width of the mattress and a section longitudinal in the shape of a right triangle. This secondary body makes it possible to raise the mattress body at a chosen location, for example at the place where the baby's head comes to rest, which makes the latter's position more comfortable.

In this example the mattress 1 comprises a mattress body 2 of substantially parallelepiped shape, for example of foam.

The mattress body 2 has a first face 3 comprising a substantially rectangular recess 4 forming an infant sleeping area.

The recess 4 is arranged and centered around a longitudinal axis XX ′ passing through a center of the mattress body 2.

However, the arrangement of the recess 4 may be different in other embodiments not shown.

In this exemplary embodiment, the length L of the recess 4 is equal to a length of the mattress body 2. However, in other exemplary embodiments, not shown, the length of the recess may be less than the length mattress body 2.

As shown in FIG. 1, the mattress further comprises a removable body 5 capable of filling the recess 4, having substantially a thickness E equivalent to the depth P of the recess 4, a width equivalent to the width W and a length equivalent to the length L of the recess 4.

FIG. 2 shows an exemplary embodiment in which the mattress 1 comprises an optional secondary body 10 whose section is in the shape of a triangle. This secondary body 10 makes it possible to raise the mattress body at a chosen location, for example at the place where the baby's head comes to rest.

The mattress 1 also has a covering 13 shown in FIG. 2, enveloping the mattress body 2.

Advantageously, the covering 13 comprises at least one flexible face covering the first face 3 of the mattress body 2. This flexible face advantageously comprises a breathable fabric.
