Description
VELOCIPEDE NAUTIQUE PROPULSE PAR UN JET D’EAUNAUTICAL VELOCIPEDE PROPELLED BY A WATER JET
1) DOMAINE TECHNIQUE AUQUEL SE RAPPORTE L’INVENTION1) TECHNICAL FIELD TO WHICH THE INVENTION REFERS
The present invention is in the technical sector of non-motorized water sports and leisure equipment. It is a nautical velocipede propelled by a jet of water. This invention is intended primarily for the use of water sports enthusiasts and cyclists who want to practice their activities in pools, lakes, streams or seaside.
2) DESCRIPTION DE L’ETAT DE LA TECHNIQUE ANTERIEURE2) DESCRIPTION OF THE STATE OF THE PRIOR ART
In the field of nautical cycling, non-static, the prior art is to adapt rigid or inflatable floats to a bicycle to allow its flotation. The bicycle pedals drive directly or indirectly a propulsion system propeller or paddlewheel. The handlebar allows direct or indirect steering the rudder that directs the boat. The publication FR 2 693 427 is a concrete example of this type of embodiment.
It also adapts a mechanical motorization system, comprising a propeller or turbine which is rotated under the action of the pedals, to floating boats to ensure their propulsion. Publication WO 2005/108201 A1 describes the adaptation of such a mechanism to a canoe.
From FR2 782 694 is known a two-wheel cycle that can travel on different surfaces. This device comprises, in particular, fins that open and close allowing the bike to advance in the water, its flotation being provided by floats attached to the frame of the bike.
These inventions have several disadvantages. They are bulky and difficult to transport even if they are removable. In general, they are not stable because in some cases their center of gravity is above the level of the water surface. These boats move thanks to a propulsion provided by the feet on a pedal and move with the help of a handlebar, but they do not allow the user to move in the water as it does with a bike in the air.
The nautical bicycle propelled by a jet of water designed by the author of the present invention and described in the publication WO 2015/181452 A1 is therefore intended to remedy these drawbacks. It is small in size and can be stored and transported easily. By construction, the density relative to the water of the nautical bicycle propelled by a jet of water is slightly less than 1 which ensures its buoyancy. The center of gravity of the water bike is located below the water surface; which ensures its stability. This nautical bike allows the practice of water sports and cycling in an aquatic environment and which, moreover, is capable of hydromassage.
However, this nautical bike powered by a jet of water remains quite bulky for use in a pool. The present invention overcomes this problem by arranging, on the one hand, the elements constituting the nautical bike and, on the other hand, by reducing these elements to result in a nautical velocipede more compact.
3) BREVE DESCRIPTION DE LINVENTION3) BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF LINVENTION
The present invention describes a new architecture of nautical cycling propelled by a jet of water. The structure of the nautical velocipede propelled by a jet of water resembles that of a velocipede with front wheel drive. A user sits on a saddle with his backrest (8) fixed on a ballast (7), he operates a pedal (9) and controls the direction of movement of the boat with a handlebar (5). The driving wheel of the conventional velocipede is replaced by a centrifugal pump (2), a rotor (3) is driven directly by the pedal (9). The water is sucked by water suction holes (10) drilled on both lateral sides of the stator (4) and expelled through a water ejection nozzle (11) located at the rear of the the boat. By counter-reaction, the nautical velocipede is propelled forward.
The ballast (7) is intended to be filled or drained with water to adjust the density relative to the water of the nautical velocipede which allows to adjust the waterline of the boat. By construction, the density relative to the water of the nautical velocipede propelled by a jet of water, when the ballast (7) is empty, is slightly less than 1; which ensures its buoyancy. The center of gravity of the nautical velocipede is located below the surface of water; which ensures its stability. Thus, the nautical velocipede is partially submerged; which allows the user to ride it and drive it easily. In addition, the nautical velocipede propelled by a jet of water allows the user to benefit from the hydromassage obtained by the impact of water on his body on the move.

5) DESCRIPTION DETAILLEE DE L’INVENTION5) DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
The structure of the nautical velocipede propelled by a jet of water resembles that of a classic velocipede with front wheel drive. With reference to the figures, the nautical velocipede propelled by a jet of water according to the present invention comprises: - A frame (1) which makes it possible to assemble the various elements constituting the boat in a compact way, in order to reduce the space requirement of the boat. It has the shape of a sinusoid. - A centrifugal pump (2) which propels the nautical velocipede. It is separated from the lower front side of the frame (1). It is fixed on the lower part of a steering shaft (6). The centrifugal pump (2) consists of a rotor (3) and a stator (4). The rotor (3) consists of a disc fixed on a pedal (9), on each side of the disc are fixed vanes (14). The stator (4) corresponds to the rotor housing (3). Water suction ports (10) are drilled on both lateral sides of the stator (4). A water ejection nozzle (11) is placed on the rear part of the stator (4). The jet of water produced by the centrifugal pump (2) is expelled through the water ejection nozzle (11), by feedback the nautical velocipede is propelled forwards. On the lower part of the stator (4) is installed a keel (13) which allows to have the center of gravity as low as possible with respect to the surface of the water to ensure the stability of the nautical velocipede and maintain it in a vertical position. The centrifugal pump (2) can also be used as a drift to direct the movement of the nautical velocipede if it is operated by the handlebars. Indeed, the rotation of the centrifugal pump (2) to the left or to the right causes the movement of the velocipede in the same direction. - A pedal (9) which allows the user to operate the propulsion of the nautical velocipede using the legs. The pedal (9) is the mechanism that recovers the muscular effort provided by a user and transmits it directly to the rotor (3) of the centrifugal pump (2). The pedal (9) is fixed on the rotor, and its axis of rotation is fixed by a pivot connection on the lower end of the steering shaft (6). - A water ejection nozzle (11) which directs the water jet to the outlet of the centrifugal pump (2). It is actuated by a rotary handle (12) allowing its orientation in the vertical plane depending on the desired immersion. The jet of water can be directed upwards to allow the nautical velocipede to dive when the ballast (7) is filled with water, or down to reduce the immersion depth of the nautical velocipede when the ballast (7) is empty. The water ejection nozzle (11) can also be used as a drift to direct the movement of the nautical velocipede; its rotation in the horizontal plane can be operated by the handlebars. Rotating the water ejection nozzle (11) to the left or to the right causes the velocipede to move in the same direction. - A handlebar (5) which allows the user to steer the boat by actuating either the rotation of the centrifugal pump (2), or the rotation of the water ejection nozzle (11). The handlebar (5) is separated from the front upper part of the frame (1). It is fixed on a steering shaft (6) which passes through the front end of the frame (1) and down to the axis of rotation of the rotor (3). The rotation of the handlebar (5) to the left or to the right causes either the rotation of the centrifugal pump (2) or the rotation of the water ejection nozzle (11); which makes it possible to control the direction of movement of the nautical velocipede propelled by a jet of water. - A steering shaft (6) which transfers the movement of the handlebar (5) to the centrifugal pump (2). The steering shaft (6) is fixed on the front part of the frame (1) by a pivot connection. The handlebar (5) is fixed on the upper end of the steering shaft (6) and its lower end is fixed on the axis of rotation of the rotor (3). - A ballast (7) which ensures the floating of the nautical velocipede. The ballast (7) is fixed on the upper rear part of the frame (1). The ballast (7) is intended to be filled or drained with water to adjust the density relative to the water of the nautical velocipede, which allows to control the depth of its immersion in the water. By construction, the density relative to the water of the nautical velocipede propelled by a jet of water, when the ballast (7) is empty, is slightly less than 1; which ensures its buoyancy. When the ballast (7) is filled with water, the density relative to the water of the nautical velocipede is equal to 1; which allows to dive with the nautical velocipede. The center of gravity of the nautical velocipede is located below the surface of water; which ensures its stability. The ballast (7) also serves as a support for fixing the saddle with its backrest (8) - A saddle with its backrest (8) which serves as a fulcrum for the user. It is fixed on the upper part of the ballast (7). The seat with its back (8) allows the user to exert a significant force on the pedal (9). This force opposes the support of the user on the saddle with its backrest (8).
The frame (1), the ballast (7) and the saddle with its backrest (8) can be assembled together in a single block to produce a compact nautical velocipede as shown in Figure 6.
The centrifugal pump (11) can be fixed integrally to the block formed by the frame (1), the ballast (7) and the saddle with its backrest (8). In this case, the handlebar causes the rotation of the water ejection nozzle in the horizontal plane to control the direction of movement of the boat.
