The transparent or translucent film is provided with three copolymers layers joined by co-extrusion, where the first and third layers are made of polyethylene, the second layer is made of ethyl vinyl acetate, and the film is made of amines and derivatives of benzophenone. The layers are filled with sunscreen additives.

Description

The present invention relates to a parasol type device that has the particularity of allowing virtually all sunlight to pass while blocking most of the ultraviolet radiation. Almost paradoxically, it is not a parasol in the technical sense. Indeed, the invention does not block the sun to produce shade. The practical use of the invention lies in the fact that its user can be on the beach, enjoy "sunbathing" and feel the heat, without however being subjected to harmful ultraviolet radiation. The invention uses a sheet of film (which replaces the usual fabric of conventional beach umbrellas (umbrellas)) composed of several layers containing substances known to filter or absorb ultraviolet radiation. SERNI1-EN-1CU / PT_TEXTE DEPOSE_RG / GE It is essentially a question of the application of a film, instead of a fabric, on a classic structure of the beach umbrella at the time of the manufacturing phase. A transparent or translucent film capable of absorbing ultraviolet radiation and preventing it from reaching anyone under its protection, allowing the user to enjoy the heat of the sun.

State of the art Films for filtering ultraviolet and other types of radiation are already well known. The inventor has absolutely no knowledge of any type of transparent or translucent film capable of filtering or absorbing radiation, which is used on a conventional umbrella in place of a fabric to allow passage of the sunlight and heat while preventing the passage of harmful radiation.

Of course, this technique admits that there are similar devices using a plastic film. In addition, they have the same characteristic of transparency. These are ordinary parasols. Of course, they have none of the characteristics associated with protection against any type of solar radiation. Brief Description of the Figures Figure 1 shows the transparent film (1) applied to the umbrella structure; SERNI1-FR-1CU / PT_TEXTE DEPOSE_RG / GE Figure 2 shows the structure of a conventional umbrella, with the film (1) already applied; FIG. 3 shows a detailed section of the film (1) comprising three layers consisting of: outer layers (1-a) and (1-c) composed of polyethylene and a central layer (1-b) composed of a copolymer (ethylene vinyl acetate, usually called EVA).

SERNI1-FR-1CU/PT_TEXTE DEPOSE_RG/GEDESCRIPTION OF THE BEST EMBODIMENT OF THE INVENTION The invention begins with a conventional umbrella structure (FIG. 2). However, instead of using a fabric during the manufacturing stage so that its traditional function can be accomplished - providing shade - the cover consists of a transparent or translucent film (1). As can be seen in Figure 1, this film is sewn into sections, as in the case of a conventional fabric for this type of umbrella. Since the object of the invention is to protect a user against the harmful effects of the sun (in the form of ultraviolet radiation) while allowing this person to enjoy the sun and its heat, it is necessary to replace the traditional fabric by a material that is actually able to filter or absorb ultraviolet radiation. There are many products and substances on the market capable of significantly reducing, either by filtration or by absorption, the impact of ultraviolet rays. The solution is to use a film composed of three layers of polymers (Figure 3). This film is obtained through a coextrusion process that combines three different polymer layers to form a single film. The outer layers of the film, (1-a) and (1-c), are polyethylene. This is used to avoid the viscosity of the film. The core layer (1-b) is a copolymer (ethylene vinyl acetate), usually known as EVA, and is used for the elasticity of the film and absorbing infrared radiation. This copolymer is well known and allows a wide variety of applications, the latter being light and easy to shape (with a "memory effect"). Additives are added to all layers of the film, these additives being SHA (sterically hindered amines) which are used as a stabilizer against UV radiation and their absorption, and benzophenone, one of the most widely used sunscreens. Increasing or decreasing the amount of additives will determine the increase or decrease in UV protection (the well-known "protective factors" of sunscreens). This solution makes possible the use (and not only in the range) of parasol type devices 30 having different degrees or types of protection, this SERNI1-FR-1CU / PT_TEXTE DEPOSE_RG / GE which makes possible, for example, the choice of A device having a protection factor X or Y. Because of the use of the three layers in the film (1), the film will have the following characteristics, in summary: - a transparency (or translucency) which allows the passage of sunlight and its heat; flexibility (which facilitates sewing and placement on the umbrella structure); - Protection against ultraviolet radiation, this protection may be more or less intense. SERNI1-FR-1CU / PT_TEXT DEPOSE_RG / GE
