Procédé pour fournir une information d'avertissement de vitesse (160) pour un appareil de navigation (110), comprenant les étapes suivantes consistant à : - enregistrer au moins une information de limitation de vitesse (138a) concernant un segment de trajet sélectionné I, * la première information de limitation de vitesse (138a) étant fournie par un premier canal de transmission de données (130) à une unité de combinaison de données (120), et * enregistrer au moins une seconde information de limitation de vitesse (138b) concernant le segment de trajet sélectionné dans un second canal de transmission de données, * le premier canal de transmission de données (130) étant physiquement indépendant du second canal de transmission de données (140), et - combiner la première information de limitation de vitesse (138a) à la seconde information de limitation de vitesse (138b).
