Abstract

The brake has a caliper (10) including an actuation unit moving a brake pad relative to the caliper and moving the caliper relative to a cover (11) between rest and braking positions. The brake pad and another brake pad are not in contact with a disk in the rest position. The brake pads are placed against the disk in the braking position to apply a friction force between the pads and the disk. A measurement device measures displacement of a pin guide (30) of the caliper, which is inserted in a cavity (33) of the cover. An indicator indicates state of wear of the pads from the measurement.
