BRÈVE DESCRIPTION DE L'INVENTION En vue de la réalisation de ce but, on propose selon l'invention un lit d'enfant comportant un élément support de matelas entouré par des panneaux latéraux, dans lequel au moins l'un des panneaux latéraux est monté pour pivoter autour d'un axe de pivotement s'étendant en partie haute du lit. Ainsi lors du pivotement du panneau la partie basse du lit est totalement dégagée de sorte qu'il est possible d'introduire l'enfant latéralement dans le lit à une faible hauteur par rapport au sol et donc de le soulever seulement sur une faible hauteur. En outre lors d'un mouvement de pivotement on profite de la longueur du bras de levier pour soulever le poids du panneau pivotant et les frottements lors d'un pivotement sont considérablement inférieurs aux frottements lors d'un mouvement de coulissement de sorte que globalement l'effort de manipulation du lit d'enfant selon l'invention est très inférieur à l'effort qui était nécessaire avec les lits de l'art antérieur.
