The present invention relates to strengthening the soul of a billiard cue to prevent buckling of the boom. It happens that in time, a billiard-shaped arrow deforms by buckling, often linked to the wood used for its original design. This has the immediate consequence of making the arrow unusable for the player. Only the intervention of a specialist can make a repair often complex. Reinforcement of the billiard cue consists of inserting a metal tube of appropriate diameter in the center and on the longitudinal axis of the arrow and the shaft of the cue. The billiard cue, according to Figure 2, is generally made of two parts, called: "The arrow" (1), front part and "The barrel" (2), rear part, these two parts are assembled by screwing for get the cue, ready to use. The overall shape of a billiard cue is tapered, the end of the boom is provided with a leather pad called "The Process" (3), the other end of the bolster ends with a rubber tip, called "Talon" (4). The two component parts of the cue, in accordance with FIG. 2 and FIG. 3, are of substantially the same length, are assembled by an axial screwing system, the boom side is provided with a male part which represents the screw (9), while the barrel portion is provided with a threaded bushing which represents the female part (10) of the assembly. The accompanying drawings illustrate the invention by way of non-limiting example: FIG. 1: an overall plan. - Figure 2: a plan of disassembly of the "Arrow" and the "shaft". - Figure 3: a longitudinal sectional plan of the "Arrow" and "shaft", assembled. The actual realization of the invention will be carried out in three distinct steps: a) The reinforcement, according to FIG. 3, consists of two metal tubes (5) and (6) assembled by screwing. They are of different diameters to adapt to the diameters of the boom and barrel. The end of the "Process" end tube terminates in a lower diameter tube, (7) fitted and glued into the distal end of the boom reinforcement tube. This necessity is related to the fact that the section of the arrow is smaller when approaching the "Process". This tube goes to the contact of the "Process" obstructed by a metal plug (8). The proximal end of the reinforcing tube of the arrow, is provided with a bronze piece constituting the screw (9). This piece is force-fitted, glued and pinned (11) to prevent any rotation in the reinforcing tube during screwing or unscrewing the two parts of the cue. The distal and proximal ends of the barrel reinforcing tube are equipped with a bronze piece (10), in accordance with FIG. 3, constituted by a threaded socket, forcibly retracted, glued and pinned (11). This avoids any rotation of this piece $ 40 in the reinforcing tube when screwing or unscrewing the two parts of the cue or the barrel with its extension, if the tail is provided. An extension attached to the proximal end of the barrel, is generally used for the needs of the player, such as the specific game called "game with three bands". b) The wood part (12) consists of two symmetrical parts along the longitudinal axis for each element of the cue. In the case of the arrow, we use a piece of wood of parallelepiped shape of oversized length and base, containing the volume of the arrow to be made. This piece of wood is treated to the "Jointer" and the "Planer", to be brought almost to the final ribs of the boom, knowing that the last operation is performed on the woodturning lathe to obtain the desired conicity. Then, this piece of wood is cut by its middle and in its length with the bandsaw. Each sawing surface is refreshed at the jointer, in order to maintain the continuity of the ribs of the wood used after further reassembly.
Each of these two pieces of wood is treated with the "Toupie" to dig the exact imprint of the different diameters and lengths corresponding to the reinforcing tube of the arrow, thus constituting two symmetrical half-shells. The impression surfaces in the wood as well as the reinforcing tube with its screwdriver tip, are coated with glue, type "two-component resin". The reinforcing tube is placed in one of the half-shells, then covered by the other half-shell previously coated with the same glue. The two parts assembled will be tightened with clamps and placed in an oven for a minimum of 24 hours. The realization of the "Fût" part is performed according to the same procedure, taking into account the larger diameters of the barrel and its reinforcement tube relative to those of the arrow.
The final phase consists of machining the barrel and the arrow of the billiard cue, thus reconstituted, to give them the necessary conicity. For example, the boom and the shaft are each 0.70m in length, the diameter at the method of the arrow is between 11 and 12mm and 22mm cited assembly. For the barrel, the diameter side assembly is identical, 22mm and ends between 30 and 34mm in diameter at the heel. The ends of the arrow, according to Figure 2 are machined to each receive a shell (13) of reinforcement. The barrel is machined assembly side to also receive a reinforcing shell (13), the other end receives only the Talon (4).
