Abstract

The device consists of a box (1) with cover (2) and opening (3) into which the end of the cue with the tip is introduced. The interior compartment (7) has conical section shape with sliding side jaws (14) restrained in place by springs (19). The shape of the jaws causes compaction of the tip when the cue is pushed into the device. Rotation of the queue causes abrasive contact between the sides of the tip and the frictional end sections of the jaws.

Description

The present invention relates to two devices of identical design,

  independent, with complementary functions. They are intended to renovate the "processes" (preformed leather rings) attached to the end of the pool cues. The technique used aims to

  keep the said process its initial shape during use.

  Figure 1 is a perspective view of one of the two devices, where it emerges: the housing (1), the cover (2) and the orifice (3). The part of the billiard cue represented is called: Arrow (4),

  it is provided at its end with the process (5) and the ferrule (6).

  Importance of the process (5). A pool cue, whatever its qualities cannot be permanently efficient, unless it has a non-deformable process (5). But it does not exist. The method (5) is therefore a very important element, in particular its shape. It allows to attack the ball with precision in order to send it in the desired direction. It also avoids the tail pit. However, said method being subjected to repetitive shocks

  gradually, it deforms and thus loses its effectiveness.

  The consequence of this distortion is that it is no longer possible to play with the same precision.

  Hence the interest of the present invention which is to give the player the technical means, allowing him each time he deems it useful, to renovate the process (5), ie to give it back its initial shape and its compactness. Currently, the state of the art provides no solution in this area. 1 - Process (5) The process is a preformed leather washer with a range of use of the order of 130 degrees, enhanced with a cylindrical part of approximately 4 millimeters. It is fixed to the end of the boom (4) by gluing. Diameters go in ascending order but the gap between two

  diameters is usually 1 millimeter.

  There are also processes made with materials other than leather, but they do not resist

not to distortions.

  Fig. 1 - Presentation of the devices The devices are independent but identical in design. However each has its own

  function. The perspective view shows the appearance of one of the two devices.

  The functions of each device are as follows: - The first allows the process (5) to return to its original shape - the second allows the process (5) to regain its compactness and its smoothing finish.   - either it is without special treatment.

  With regard to their use, the devices described above must be identified in relation to their function. This identification must be done at the level of the cover (2). It might be

  considered covers of different colors, or graphic means.

  Regarding the appearance of the devices, there are two versions to remember:

  - The first is the one mentioned above, the devices are independent.

  - The second, the devices are superimposed and therefore take the form of a monoblock.

  Materials used: the devices will be made of molded plastic. This targets the housing (1), the cover (2) and the guides (12). However they could also be made of wood but in this case the guides (12) would be added.

  As for the cover (2), it has two particularities:

  The mechanism includes: movable jaws (14), longitudinal guides (18) and springs

reminders (19).

  - movable jaws (14) The perspective view recalls the shape and the design details - The internal reference shape of the concave parts is that of a process in new condition whose diameter corresponds to that of the process to be treated.   Materials used for the design of:

  How the device works: - The arrow (4) being provided with its process (5) is introduced into the compartment (7) through the orifice (3).   Furthermore, it should be noted that the installation and removal of the mechanism is only done by

  manual intervention, ie without tools or accessories.

  The devices listed above are according to the invention, particularly intended for renovating the

  processes (preformed leather rings) attached to the end of the pool cues, without exception.

Claims (5)

- CLAIMS   1) The technical means making it possible to renovate the processes (preformed leather washers) fixed at the end of the billiard cues, concerns "two devices". The first ensures the shaping while the second ensures the finishing. They are of identical design, although independent.   "The first device" allows the process (5) to be returned to its original shape during use,   being characterized.in that it comprises a box (1) of frustoconical shape, provided with a cover (2).   It has an orifice (3) through which the arrow (4) is introduced, in order to be pushed towards the interior of the compartment (7) while imparting to it a rotational movement. However, the displacement of the arrow (4) also causes the displacement of the movable jaws (14), which are   secured to the longitudinal guides (18) and return springs (19).   2) The apparatus according to claim 1 characterized in that the compartment (7) has a frustoconical shape, the angle of which facing the large base is of the order of 10 degrees. This conicity of the walls of said compartment allows the movable jaws (14) to gradually tighten on the process (5), when they move under the impulse of the arrow (4)   parallel to the walls of the compartment (7).   3) The apparatus according to claim 2 characterized in that the movable jaws (14) have grooves (17) of longitudinal shape and superimposed. It is these grooves which, associated with the longitudinal guides (18), allow the movable jaws (14) to move parallel to the walls of the compartment (7). In addition the fact that these grooves (17) are   superimposed, the movable jaws (14) become interchangeable.   4) The apparatus according to claim 2 characterized in that the shape of the concave parts of the movable jaws (14), corresponds to a process in new condition, having the same diameter as that of the process (5) to be treated. This arrangement allows the movable jaws (14) provided with abrasive (15) to return to the process (5) exactly its initial shape, after the said movable jaws have come into contact, following their displacement caused by the arrow (4). It should be noted that only the device which performs the shaping has its movable jaws (14) provided with abrasive (15)) The device according to claim 3 characterized in that the mounting of the longitudinal guides (18) on the housing (1) keeps the movable jaws (14) and the return springs (19) in their respective positions. In addition, the fact that these longitudinal guides (18) are simply embedded in the grooves (13), facilitates their disassembly, which has the advantage of quickly accessing the movable jaws (14) for their replacement or cleaning.   6) The apparatus according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that   that the housing (1) has a cover (2), which is housed in the slides (8) incorporated   to the said housing. Furthermore, it is provided with a locking system, produced by means of clips (9).   These clips are engaged on the axis (10) fixed on the housing (1). It also has lateral bosses (11) which are provided to facilitate its handling. 7) The devices according to claim 1 characterized in that they can be made in the form of a single piece. In this case, the two devices are in one superimposed position.
