"Dispositif pour l'entretien du procédé d'une queue de billard".
La présente invention concerne les queues de billard et est relative plus particulièrement au procédé placé à l'extrémité de la flèche, au-delà de la virole.
Au jeu de billard le procédé représente la partie la plus importante de l'équipement et, pour empêcher de faire une fausse-queue, le procédé doit par ses côtés coïncider parfaitement avec la virole.
On peut remédier au fait que le procédé ne coïncide pas parfaitement avec la virole et déborde de celle-ci en utilisant un papier d'émeri et en sablant les rebords saillants mais on obtient difficilement de cette façon un même bon résultat sur toute la périphérie.
On connaît pour remédier à cet inconvénient un dispositif en forme d'élément de tube creux, dont le diamètre interne va en diminuant vers une extrémité. L'introduction avec rotation du bout de la flèche avec la virole et le procédé dans cet élément de tube va écraser par friction les rebords saillants du procédé par rapport à la virole mais avec le risque très courant d'arracher ou de décoller le procédé de la virole.
C'est pourquoi il a paru avantageux suivant l'invention de créer un dispositif qui permet d'entretenir le procédé sans l'arracher et sans abîmer la virole, tout en pouvant s'adapter aux différentes flèches.
Un dispositif réalisé suivant l'invention est caractérisé en ce qu'il consiste en une cage à rouleaux,. dont le diamètre interne va en diminuant à partir d'un orifice d'entrée, auquel sont tangentes les extrémités correspondantes des rouleaux.
Suivant une réalisation de l'invention les rouleaux sont cylindriques et leurs axes sont inclinés par rapport à l'axe de la cage.
Suivant l'invention encore les surfaces d'appui des extrémités des rouleaux présentent par rapport à l'horizontale à l'entrée de la cage un angle de substantiellement 2[deg.] et à l'opposé un angle de substantiellement 3[deg.].
Pour mieux faire comprendre l'invention celle-ci est décrite maintenant sur la base du dessin annexé, à titre d'exemple uniquement, montrant en :
Figure 1 une demi-vue et une demi-coupe en élévation d'un dispositif conforme à l'invention pour l'entretien d'un procédé de queue de billard ; Figure 2 une vue par dessous du dispositif de la figure 1, et Figure 3 le dispositif des figures 1 et 2 encastré dans un bloc à garnitures.
Comme on le voit au dessin un dispositif réalisé suivant l'invention présente la forme d'une cage à rouleaux avec deux plaques supports 1, 2 et une série de rouleaux 3, ici au nombre de quatre mais le nombre de rouleaux peut être choisi de manière à réaliser au mieux le résultat recherché.
La plaque support 1 présente un orifice central 4, dont le diamètre est choisi pour permettre l'insertion dans la cage de n'importe quel diamètre de virole ou d'extrémité de flèche.
Les rouleaux 3 sont représentés cylindriques et leurs axes sont obliques par rapport à l'axe de la cage, c'est-à-dire qu'ils se rapprochent entr'eux vers le sommet ou vers la plaque support 2, qui peut avantageusement présenter également un orifice de moindre diamètre 5.
L'obliquité des rouleaux est obtenue par l'inclinaison de leurs surfaces de support, qui présentent par rapport à l'horizontale au bas, c'est-à-dire vers l'entrée de

d'environ 3[deg.]. Les rouleaux sont disposés de manière à être tangents aux orifices 4 et 5.
Après avoir inséré l'extrémité de la flèche avec le procédé et la virole dans la cage à rouleaux, il suffit de faire tourner ladite flèche d'un quart de tour pour que, par simple rotation du procédé sur les rouleaux, celui-ci s'écrase jusqu'à coïncider parfaitement avec la virole.
Suivant l'invention il a paru avantageux d'encastrer un tel dispositif dans un bloc approprié 6 de forme substantiellement cubique avec un ou des orifices correspondant respectivement aux orifices 4, 5 de la cage à rouleaux. Sur une des faces externes de ce bloc est fixée une surface en mousse 7, qui servira à enlever la transpiration des mains sur la flèche, et une surface de sablage telle qu'une plaque d'émeri 8 pour lisser la flèche.
On a décrit ci-dessus le dispositif suivant l'invention sur la base du dessin annexé mais, bien entendu, on pourrait apporter à ce dispositif sans sortir du domaine de l'invention l'une ou l'autre modification constructive et, par exemple, remplacer les rouleaux cylindriques obliques par des rouleaux coniques.

We can remedy the fact that the process does not perfectly coincide with the shell and overflows from it by using emery paper and sanding the projecting edges, but it is difficult to obtain the same good result all over the periphery in this way.
A device in the form of a hollow tube element is known to remedy this drawback, the internal diameter of which decreases towards one end. The introduction with rotation of the end of the arrow with the ferrule and the process in this tube element will crush by friction the projecting edges of the process compared to the ferrule but with the very common risk of tearing off or taking off the process of the ferrule.
This is why it seemed advantageous according to the invention to create a device which makes it possible to maintain the process without tearing it off and without damaging the shell, while being able to adapt to the different arrows.
A device produced according to the invention is characterized in that it consists of a roller cage ,. the internal diameter of which decreases from an inlet, to which the corresponding ends of the rollers are tangent.
According to an embodiment of the invention, the rollers are cylindrical and their axes are inclined relative to the axis of the cage.
According to the invention also the bearing surfaces of the ends of the rollers have, with respect to the horizontal at the entrance to the cage, an angle of substantially 2 [deg.] And, on the other hand, an angle of substantially 3 [deg. ].
To better understand the invention, it is now described on the basis of the appended drawing, by way of example only, showing in:
Figure 1 a half view and a half section in elevation of a device according to the invention for the maintenance of a pool cue process; Figure 2 a view from below of the device of Figure 1, and Figure 3 the device of Figures 1 and 2 embedded in a packing block.
As can be seen in the drawing, a device produced according to the invention has the form of a roller cage with two support plates 1, 2 and a series of rollers 3, here four in number but the number of rollers can be chosen from so as to best achieve the desired result.
The support plate 1 has a central orifice 4, the diameter of which is chosen to allow the insertion into the cage of any diameter of ferrule or arrow end.
The rollers 3 are shown to be cylindrical and their axes are oblique to the axis of the cage, that is to say that they approach each other towards the top or towards the support plate 2, which may advantageously have also a hole of smaller diameter 5.
The obliquity of the rollers is obtained by the inclination of their support surfaces, which have with respect to the horizontal at the bottom, that is to say towards the entry of

about 3 [deg.]. The rollers are arranged so as to be tangent to the orifices 4 and 5.
After having inserted the end of the arrow with the process and the ferrule into the roller cage, it suffices to rotate said arrow by a quarter of a turn so that, by simple rotation of the process on the rollers, it '' crushes until it coincides perfectly with the ferrule.
According to the invention it seemed advantageous to embed such a device in a suitable block 6 of substantially cubic shape with one or orifices corresponding respectively to the orifices 4, 5 of the roller cage. On one of the external faces of this block is fixed a foam surface 7, which will be used to remove perspiration from the hands on the arrow, and a sanding surface such as an emery board 8 to smooth the arrow.
The device according to the invention has been described above on the basis of the appended drawing but, of course, one could make one or other constructive modification to this device without departing from the scope of the invention and, for example , replace the oblique cylindrical rollers with tapered rollers.
