Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a method of producing a panel, of wood, especially for the manufacture of furniture and more particularly of kitchen and bathroom furniture. The invention also covers the panel obtained by implementing said method.
The panels currently used for the manufacture of furniture and more particularly of kitchen or bathroom furniture are made of solid wood or wood panel covered with a wood veneer or a veneer of synthetic material. The panels made of solid wood have several disadvantages.
The solid wood is in thickness of several centimeters, cut and machined in the mass. If the goal is noble to have a monolithic piece cut from a piece of wood, the fact remains that this piece of wood works. Indeed, since wood is a natural fibrous material, it remains sensitive to variations in temperature and hygrometry, leading to dimensional variations.
In addition, the fibers do not all work homogeneously and depending on the flow also and therefore depending on the orientation of the fibers, they distend or contract differently depending on the variations of these temperature and hygrometry parameters. . These differential evolutions cause deformations of the panel thus formed. This panel hangs, is warped.
This dimensional instability makes the use of delicate solid wood in furniture making. In addition, it must also be recognized that the cost parameter is also a deterrent, because to obtain flawless flows, it is necessary to select high-priced lumber. Generally the species are also relatively rare or at least noble, which also contributes to high prices in the end. To overcome these problems, the prior art has proposed to produce composite panels. These panels comprise a core with several elementary panels, crossed if necessary and fixed together, generally by gluing. These panels themselves are either solid material, or material reconstituted from particles or wood unrolled (multi ply). This heart is the panel which then receives on its outer faces and therefore apparent is a thin wood veneer of a few tenths of a millimeter or a plating of synthetic material known as laminate for example. The advantage is to have a virtually indeformable panel or if weakly deformable that it causes neither aesthetic nor functional problem. Indeed, the crossed layers of solid wood provide compensation of deformations in all directions and in the case of assembled particle boards, the problem is even more limited since there is an absence of fibers and presence of a binder which more can be water repellent. Similarly for multi-ply panels, the deformations are negligible.
For solid wood, it is interesting to note that the thicknesses being smaller, it is possible to have panels at more reasonable prices. In addition, as an external veneer is provided, the essence of the woods does not require any use of noble woods. The result is a panel perfectly adapted mechanically and perfect in appearance but can only be suitable for a clean style. There is a demand for panels having an older appearance, more raw but without sacrificing the mechanical parameters necessary for the realization of panels intended to enter the composition of kitchen furniture or bathroom. This style is that of wooden planks joined and juxtaposed with joints between these planks.
The present invention provides a method of producing such a panel and the panel obtained. The invention is now described in detail according to a particular embodiment, not limiting, with reference to the appended figures which represent: FIG. 1: a perspective view of a panel made according to the method of the invention, FIG. 2 : a top view of the panel of Figure 1, - Figure 3, a detail view of the panel obtained. The method according to the present invention consists in producing a panel core 10 preferably with the aid of at least two elementary panels 12 and 12, as shown in the various figures. Each of these elementary panels is made of solid wood or agglomerated particles, these particles may be chips, fibers or wood grains embedded in an adhesive polymer matrix. Each of these elementary panels has a thickness adapted according to the desired final thickness. Advantageously but not necessary, the thicknesses of the panels are identical. These panels are themselves assembled together, for example by gluing, the adhesive layer being referenced 14. The representation of each of the layers 25 is dimensionally exaggerated for the sake of clarity of the representation. The panel core 10 thus produced is dimensionally stable and remains perfectly even in the event of temperature or humidity variations.
It should be noted that depending on the nature of the materials, a single layer is also dimensionally stable without warping or bending. The face 16 before, at least, is intended to receive a facing 18. This facing 18 consists of blades 20, of a small thickness but nevertheless significant, of the order of 3 to 6 mm to give a sequence of idea. It is therefore not a plating but blades. These blades are intended to be reported at least on the front face 16, for example by gluing. Nevertheless, the method according to the invention provides a flow rate of the raw blades 20, a drying of these blades to lead to a natural deformation of the edges of these blades, a juxtaposition of these blades with deformed edges during bonding on the face of the heart panel to receive them leaving the game 22 variable between these blades. During drying, the raw blades 20 are also deformed in the plane, but this is of no consequence since these blades are then glued and press-fitted, so that they are not only secured to the panel core but They form a uniform and continuous surface, except for the variable clearances between the blades 20. The rough sawing also provides an aesthetic effect on the surface, related to the sawdust, which makes it possible to highlight the method according to the present invention. The other side receives either raw blades 20 similarly to that of the front face 16 or a thin veneer 24, as in the representation of FIGS. 1 to 3. In fact, the inner face of the panel according to the invention and intended for the production of kitchen or bathroom furniture does not necessarily require to receive such blades. In this case, a thin wooden veneer 24 of the order of a few tenths of a millimeter is sufficient and is glued in a known manner.
At the periphery of the panel obtained by the method according to the present invention, it is intended to place wooden edges 26. These edges are made of the same wood as that which constitutes the raw blades, of width adapted to the thickness of the finished panel with the necessary chamfers.
The finished panel can receive any useful accessory for its final purpose namely a handle, fasteners, hinges, slides. The finished panel also receives any finishing treatment such as a lime-coated finish or patina, this mode of work leading to highlight the sawdust of the panels without masking the clearances between the blades 20, rough sawn. Note that the finished panel is dimensionally stable, functional and mechanically stable while leading to a desired aesthetic effect and that could not be obtained without the implementation of the method according to the present invention. The wood constituting the raw saw blades can be chosen in any species because its mechanical properties are compensated and they are in no way essential for the realization of the panel. The essential applications are kitchen and bathroom furniture and accessories but are also used for decoration plans, table panels, interior design without this list being exhaustive.
