Description

The present invention relates to manufacturing facilities for a product comprising a line for treating this product through several successive stations and more particularly the treatment stations of the bodywork of a vehicle such as paint or the application of putty . BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION A vehicle body is generally moved along a process line by means of a conveyor. In some workstations, the crate (or its support) is separated from the conveyor by stationary means at least in a horizontal plane belonging to the processing station and ensuring the positioning of the crate in the repository of the station so as to to be recognized by the generally robotic tools that provide this treatment. After the completion of this treatment, the box is taken over by the conveyor (lowering the positioning means or raising means carried by the conveyor if it is on the ground) to extract it from the station and drive it. at the next station. In other cases, the conveyor constitutes the permanent support of the box to be treated in each successive station it crosses; this is particularly the case for painting stations. This type of installation has a rigidity that does not lend itself to the performance of related and successive tasks whose cycle times are different. In addition, the accuracy required for the means of transport is important enough to have a strong impact on the cost of manufacturing and maintenance of the installation. The object of the present invention is to provide another conveying system to increase the flexibility of the product processing line and to reduce the cost thereof. OBJECT OF THE INVENTION The subject of the present invention is an apparatus for conveying an object along a line of its processing in a plurality of successive positions of the line, comprising means for transferring the object of the invention. serving at least one of the stations, characterized in that it comprises, for at least one of the stations of the line, at least one handling robot of the object from the entrance of the station to a support stationary calibrated in the spatial reference of the station and, from this support jus-at least the output of the station, the robot being movably mounted on a rectilinear guide support parallel to the longitudinal direction of the station. One of the advantages of this installation lies in the decoupling of the transfer means for transporting the object from one station to another of the line from the handling means serving, firstly to put in position specify the object in the workstation's repository and, on the other hand, if necessary transport the object from one support to the other in the same position or in a set of successive positions of the line. This decoupling makes it possible to process the manufacture and installation of the transfer means with a lower accuracy requirement than that required for the apparatus used for handling the object inside the treatment station. This is all the more advantageous as this precise handling takes place inside a volume which is much less important than that concerned by the transfer of the object all along the line, volume and therefore strokes of the medium. handling that are fully compatible with the performance of a robot. Since the cost of power robotics has fallen significantly, the economic balance of a conveyor system according to the invention is very positive.

In the case of a motor vehicle body, the transfer means is a ground carrier supporting the body through a calibrated transfer frame, the treatment station is a putty application station. by stationary robots in the station, the fixed support calibrated in the station has means for receiving and centering the vehicle body located at a level allowing the passage of the transfer frame at the bottom of the station and the robots handling equipment are mobile along their longitudinal guide.

In the case where the treatment station has more than one calibrated support succeeding one another in the direction of movement of the vehicle body, the transfer of a support to the other being provided by the handling robots internal to the station. The invention also applies to the case where several processing stations are consecutive and the handling robots are common to all these stations. The number of handling robots will be adapted so that their occupation time is maximum. While the box is being processed in the station, the transfer means can be used for other functions or tasks, in masked time such as handling between stations or sets of stations distant from each other. Other features and advantages of the invention will emerge from the description given below of an exemplary embodiment of the invention. BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS Reference will be made to the accompanying drawing which comprises a single figure illustrating, by a cross-sectional schematic section, a processing station of a line equipped with the conveyor system of the invention. DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION Referring to this figure, the treatment station shown has a fixed structure 1, surmounted by a chamber 2 for ventilating the interior space of the station. A transfer conveyor 3 is installed in the lower part of the station 4, on the ground of the latter. This transfer conveyor moves in the direction of arrow F and passes through the station in its longitudinal direction. It comprises a top support 4, called sled or frame, on which the V body of the vehicle rests in its movements from one station to another line. The structure of the station makes it possible to support working ro-bots such as 5a and 5b in the upper part and 6a and 6b in the lower part, which robots are, for example, robot applicators putty or other caulking material or insulation on the V-box of the vehicle. The infrastructure of this station also comprises lateral guide rails 7a and 7b on each of which can move a handling robot 8, 9. The movement and movements of these robots are provided synchronously so as to move the vehicle body V parallel to itself from the entrance of the station where it rests on the sled 4 towards a static support 10 precisely located in the reference frame of the working robots 5 and 6 (spatial reference of the station) then from this static support 10 to sled 4 (the one shown or another) at the output of the treatment station. The robots 8 and 9 can also move the vehicle body V of a support 10 to another support such as 10 but not shown, which is located downstream of that represented in the direction F of circulation of the body on the treatment line. The invention is not limited to the description which has just been given. It applies to any assembly, assembly or processing industry of machines or various vehicles in which the manufacturing process requires a product treatment line through several successive stations.
