Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a packing panel of the type comprising at least one pictogram zone, said panel comprising a translucent soft skin forming the outer surface of the panel of the invention. packing and a support layer disposed against the translucent skin, said layer comprising an opening disposed at least facing the pictogram area. The invention also relates to a motor vehicle comprising such a trim panel. It is known to provide trim panels of the aforementioned type for displaying pictograms directly on the skin of these panels, said pictograms indicating certain functions or certain states of the vehicle. Such panels are used in particular to achieve the lining of the dashboard of the motor vehicle, disposed under the windshield of the vehicle. In such a lining panel, a light source, for example of the light-emitting diode type, is provided at a distance from the skin and projects light towards the skin in order to illuminate the pictogram zone. However, this way of illuminating the pictogram area causes a high energy consumption, the light power necessary for correct display of the pictogram is important. Thus, a light-emitting diode must be used for 200 mm2 of visible display surface. For a pictogram comprising several segments, such as an odometer, it takes as many diodes as digit to display, which increases the power consumption and increases the heat dissipation. In addition, the diode being disposed away from the pictogram area, the light can be changed during its journey to said area. The light is for example diffused in a material disposed between the skin and the light source or other, which can make the pictogram blurred or insufficiently illuminated. One of the aims of the invention is to overcome these disadvantages by providing a trim panel for the correct display of pictograms with reduced energy consumption, while allowing to obtain a contrasting image and clear pictogram. To this end, the invention relates to a packing panel of the aforementioned type, wherein a light-emitting layer is disposed in the opening and is applied against the translucent skin to illuminate the pictogram area, a fastener being placed in the opening and attached to the support layer to hold the light-emitting layer in the opening. The light emitting layer is disposed directly against the skin, which prevents light loss between the light source and the outer surface of the skin. In addition, the trim panel is particularly simple to achieve and economical. According to other features of the trim panel: the fastening element is removable and comprises snap-fastening means on the support layer; the support layer is rigid; the light-emitting layer is a matrix organic light-emitting diode screen or a segment organic light-emitting diode screen or an electroluminescent sheet or an optical fiber network; the support layer comprises at least one receiving lug of the complementary fixing means of the fixing element; the fixing element comprises an opening therethrough for the passage of means for feeding the light-emitting layer; a transparent adhesive layer is disposed between the light-emitting layer and the inner face of the skin; and - the lining panel comprises a mask comprising apertures permitting light and zones preventing the passage of light, said apertures defining the shape of the pictogram, said mask being disposed between the light emitting layer and the pictogram area. The invention also relates to a motor vehicle comprising a trim panel as described above, said trim panel being applied against a portion of the passenger compartment of said vehicle.
Other aspects and advantages of the invention will appear on reading the description which follows, given by way of example and with reference to the appended drawing which is a diagrammatic representation in section of a packing panel according to the invention. , showing in detail the arrangement of the pictogram area. In the description, external means what is visible from the passenger compartment of the motor vehicle and internally what is not visible. The terms upper and lower are defined with respect to a direction starting from the wall of the passenger compartment and going towards the interior of the passenger compartment.
Referring to the figure, there is described a lining panel 1 comprising a flexible skin 2 translucent, that is to say allowing light to pass, and a support layer 4 under and against the translucent skin 2. The skin 2 form the outer face 8, visible from the passenger compartment of the motor vehicle, the panel 1. The support layer 4 is for example a rigid insert made of polypropylene (PP), acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS), wood fiber or other . The skin 2 is fixed to the support layer 4, for example by heat-sealing or by gluing. The insert being rigid, the lining panel has a hard feel on its outer surface 8. The translucent skin assembly 2 / support layer 4 may be shaped as desired to fit the lining of a motor vehicle. The outer surface 8 formed by the skin 2 is for example substantially flat or has protruding or recessed areas, for example to indicate the presence of vehicle function control buttons under the skin assembly 2 / support layer 4. The lining panel 1 comprises at least one zone 10 forming a pictogram for displaying backlit information on the outer face 8 of the translucent skin 2. This zone 10 is arranged facing an opening 12 made in the layer of support 4, the opening receiving a light emitting layer 14 applied against the inner surface of the skin 2. The light emitting layer 14 is therefore applied directly against the skin 2, facing the pictogram zone 10. This emitting layer light 14 is, for example, a matrix organic light-emitting diode (OLED) screen or a segmental organic light-emitting diode screen or an electroluminesheet scente or a network of optical fibers. The fact of using a light emitting layer 14 covering substantially the entire pictogram zone 10 makes it possible to provide only one light source for the entire zone 10. In addition, since the layer 14 is applied directly against the skin, there is no loss of light between the layer 14 and the pictogram zone 10, which makes it possible to reduce the light power necessary for a good illumination of the zone 10 and thus to reduce the energy consumption and the dissipation heat. The light-emitting layer 14 is for example glued against the skin 2 by means of a transparent layer of glue 16, that is to say not diffusing the light inside the layer 16. The light coming from the emitter layer 14 therefore passes through the adhesive layer 16 without being modified. Such a glue is called optical glue. The emitter layer 14 is powered by power supply means formed for example by a layer of conductors 18 for the electrical connection of the emitter layer 14 on a current source provided in the motor vehicle. To define the shape of the pictogram, there is provided a mask disposed in the path of light between the emitting layer 14 and the pictogram zone 10, comprising openings allowing light to pass and zones blocking the passage of light. This mask may be an independent element or be printed on one of the elements of the trim panel, for example on the light emitting layer 14 or on the inner face of the skin 2. A fastening element 20 is placed in the opening 12 behind the emitter layer 14, that is to say on the other side of the layer 14 with respect to the skin 2.
The fastening element 20 closes the opening 12 and forms a removable support for the maintenance of the emitter layer 14. For this purpose, the fastening element 20 comprises fastening means 22 by snapping onto the support layer 4. The support layer 4 includes fastening tabs 24 extending near the opening 12 and protruding from the backing layer 4 rearwardly thereof. The lugs 24 each comprise a window 26 for receiving a lug 28 provided on a corresponding fastening lug 30 of the fastening element 20. The tabs 30 have a certain elasticity in order to allow the insertion and withdrawal of the lugs 28. corresponding windows 26. Thus, the fastening element 24 can be fixed and easily removed from the support layer 4, which allows a simple access to the emitter layer 14 if it requires maintenance or must be replaced. The fastening element 24 includes an opening 32 therethrough to allow the passage of the conductor web 18 of the emitter layer 14 to the rest of the motor vehicle. As indicated above, the trim panel 1 of the invention provides a contrasted and clearly defined image of the pictogram area 10 while limiting energy consumption and heat dissipation. In addition, because of the small thickness of the light emitting layer 14, for example between 0.1 and 2 mm, the trim panel 1 is compact. The limited number of elements making up this panel makes it easy to produce and inexpensive to produce. In addition, the lining panel 1 has an identical hard feel over its entire outer surface 8, due to the presence of the optical adhesive 16 and the rigidity of the fastening element 20. This element 20 can effectively protect the light-emitting layer 14 against shocks and impacts, for example when mounting the trim panel 1. When the light-emitting layer 14 is extinguished, the pictogram area 10 is invisible and is not distinguishable from the rest of the surface external 8 of the skin 2, which improves the aesthetic appearance of the trim panel 1.
