Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a side face of a rail vehicle body intended to form a rail vehicle body structure, of the type comprising a longitudinal wall intended to extend between two longitudinal longitudinal members, respectively lower and upper.
The invention also relates to a rail vehicle body structure comprising such a side face. A rail vehicle body structure generally comprises a frame, two lateral faces connected to the frame, a flag comprising two flag flaps each connected to a lateral face, and transverse body ends attached to the end portions of the lateral faces. For rail vehicles comprising a plurality of windows and doors, as for example include the cases of passenger trains, metro or tram, such a side face comprises two longitudinal longitudinal members forming the lower edge and the upper edge of the face between which extends a plurality of transverse uprights, that is to say extending in a substantially vertical direction. The amounts are spaced from each other so as to define between them transverse openings. When a transverse opening is to be a window of the railway vehicle, the amounts defining this opening are connected to one another by at least one longitudinal panel extending from the lower edge of the partition and closing the lower part of the opening up to a certain height. The side face therefore comprises a plurality of longitudinal panels used to define the windows of the railway vehicle between the doors of the vehicle. The number of components used to make the railway vehicle is therefore very important. In addition the attachment of these components, welding, riveting, bolting or other, requires many assembly operations. The time and cost of mounting the vehicle are important. In addition, the large number of components and fasteners add a significant mass to the rail vehicle, which affects the performance of the rail vehicle and increases its energy consumption.
One of the aims of the invention is to overcome these disadvantages by providing a railway vehicle face intended to form a rail vehicle body structure requiring few components and limiting the fastening means.
To this end, the invention relates to a railway vehicle face of the aforementioned type, wherein the wall comprises an inner panel and an outer panel, said panels extending one opposite the other over the entire length of the side members longitudinal and being fixed to each other. Thus, the inner and outer panels form between them a box intended to extend over the entire length of the railway vehicle and whose structure allows the removal of the amounts extending from one spar to the other. According to other characteristics of the rail vehicle partition: the inner panel and the outer panel are substantially parallel to each other and are separated from one another by a space; each panel comprises a plurality of longitudinal tubular sections fixed one on the other to form the panel; the inner panel and the outer panel are fixed to each other along at least one of their longitudinal edges; the inner panel and the outer panel are fixed to each other along their two longitudinal edges; - The inner and outer panels each comprise at least one transverse opening, the transverse opening of the inner panel being disposed facing the transverse opening of the outer panel so as to form an opening through the wall; the inner panel and the outer panel are fixed to each other along at least one of the longitudinal edges of the through opening; the edges of the opening are covered by reinforcing elements; the wall comprises a plurality of transverse openings, some extending over a portion of the height of the wall and at least one extending over the entire height of the wall. The invention also relates to a rail vehicle body structure comprising at least two lateral faces as described above, the inner panel of each face being disposed inside said structure and the outer panel of each face being turned towards outside said structure. According to another characteristic of the body structure, the inner panel is a lining element of the railway vehicle or is at least partly covered by a paint or a decorative element. Other aspects and advantages of the invention will appear on reading the description which follows, given by way of example and with reference to the appended drawings, in which: FIG. 1 is a schematic perspective view of a railway vehicle face according to the invention; FIG. 2 is a diagrammatic representation in perspective and in section of the lower edge of the face of FIG. 1, - FIG. 3 is a diagrammatic representation in perspective and in section of the upper edge of the face of FIG. 1, - FIG. 4 is a schematic cross-sectional representation of the face of FIG. 1. In the description, the term longitudinal is defined according to the length of the face, that is to say the direction in which extends a railway vehicle. The term transverse is defined in a substantially vertical direction and substantially perpendicular to the longitudinal direction. The invention applies more particularly to railway vehicles of the type comprising several windows and several doors, as include the passenger train, subway or tramway bodies. However, it is understood that it can be applied to any type of railway vehicle. With reference to FIG. 1, there is described a lateral face 1 of a railway vehicle comprising a longitudinal wall 2 extending between two longitudinal longitudinal members, respectively lower 4 and upper 6. The wall 2 comprises an inner panel 8 and an outer panel 10 extending one facing the other over the entire length of the longitudinal members 4 and 6. The inner and outer panels 8 and 8 have substantially the same shape and extend substantially parallel to each other and are separated one from the other. the other by a space 12, as shown in Figs. 2 to 4. The panels 8 and 10 may also be called skins because of their small thickness. Each panel is for example formed of a plurality of metal tubular sections 14 extending longitudinally and fixed on each other in the transverse direction, for example by welding. Such profiles are particularly lightweight and allow to easily achieve the panels, according to the shape and dimensions desired. One of the panels or two panels comprises along their lower longitudinal edge 16 and upper 18 a tab 20 extending towards the other panel above and below the space 12. This tab 20 is welded to the other panel so as to fix the panels between them along their longitudinal edges 16 and 18. The fixing panels by welding is very simple and requires little operation and little time. Once the panels 8 and 10 have been assembled, transverse openings 22 and 24 are made in the panels so as to form openings passing through the wall 2. The openings 22 extend for example over part of the height of the wall. wall 2 so as to define the windows of the railway vehicle and the openings 24 extend substantially over the entire height of the wall 2 so as to define the doors of the railway vehicle. These openings are made according to the wishes of the manufacturer, their number and their dimensions can be chosen according to the type of railway vehicle manufactured, which offers a wide range of possibilities in the design of the railway vehicle. The inner 8 and outer 10 panels are further secured to each other by welding along at least one longitudinal edge 26 of each opening 22 and 24.
Fixing is done by welding tabs protruding from one panel to the other, as for fixing the lower edges 16 and 18 upper panels 8 and 10. In order to strengthen the wall 2 to the right of the openings 22 and 24, the edges thereof are covered by reinforcing elements 28 welded and joining the inner panel 8 to the outer panel 10.
Once the wall 2 is made, it is attached to the lower spar 4 and the upper spar 6 which is for example formed by the flag flap of the railway vehicle.
The lateral face 1 makes it possible to produce a railway vehicle body structure comprising two lateral faces 1 as described above, fixed to one another by body end portions. The inner panel 8 of each partition is disposed within the structure and the outer panel 10 is facing outward. The space 12 between the inner 8 and outer 10 panels can be used for example as a reserve for the assembly of wiring and piping for the rail vehicle body structure. This space 12 is also used to achieve the thermal and acoustic insulation of the interior of the body structure. The inner panel 8 is continuous, it can be used as a packing element of the railway vehicle or be covered at least in part by a paint or a decorative element. This panel 8 thus avoids adding an additional trim panel to improve the aesthetics of the railway vehicle. In terms of mechanical strength the side face 1 has a greater inertia improving its flexural strength. The acoustic transparency and the thermal behavior of a body structure made by partitions 1 as described above are improved. The box structure of the inner and outer panels eliminates the plurality of amounts that were provided in the previous body structures. Thus, the number of parts to be assembled is significantly reduced compared to vehicles of the prior art and fixing operations are few, which saves manufacturing time. Manufacturing costs are also reduced.
Finally, the side face 1 makes it possible to achieve a significant reduction in the mass of a rail vehicle body structure, which improves the performance and reduces the energy consumption of the railway vehicle.
