La serrure comporte une cavité ouverte au niveau d'une ouverture en forme de L. Cette ouverture en forme de L comporte une première portion, disposée au niveau de la tranche du battant et une seconde portion disposée au niveau d'une face du battant. La première et la seconde portion communiquent pour former une ouverture en forme de L. L'élément formant gâche est introduit dans la cavité à travers la seconde portion de l'ouverture de la cavité.
