The present invention relates to a lock cylinder comprising fast fixing means for being able to be engaged and fixed quickly through a wall. Lock cylinders of the type comprising a rotor rotatably mounted in a stator are commonly used. They are for example intended to lock a door of a closet, a piece of furniture, or a computer case or any other shutter closing an opening. Usually, in this type of lock cylinder, the stator has a cylindrical body and a flange forming a shoulder. The cylindrical body is precisely adapted to be installed through the wall of the wing. For this, an orifice is made near a side edge of the wing so as to cross it from one side to the other. When the body is introduced into the orifice through a front face of the wall, the collar bears against the front face of the wall around the orifice. The cylindrical body has a thread on its outer surface so as to receive a screw nut around the body. Thus, when the lock cylinder is engaged in the orifice through the wall, the collar bearing against the front face, and the cylindrical body projecting from a rear face of the wall, the nut is screwed onto the body and is applied around the orifice against the rear face of the wall, so as to lock the cylindrical body through the wall. However, the mounting of this type of cylinder requires a relatively long time due to the screwing of the nut. In order to overcome this problem, it has notably been devised a snap-lock cylinder which is described in the document FR 2802232. This lock cylinder comprises latching means on a body of a stator, adapted to cooperate with a locking means. complementary clipping 30 formed on a nut forming part and which is fitted on the edge of the orifice against the rear face. The snap occurs when the flange is pressed against the front face of the wall. However, the relative position of these latching means must be predetermined during the manufacture of the lock cylinder and depending on the thickness of the wall of the leaf. Since these latching means are not adjustable, it is necessary to provide stators for each wall thickness. A problem which then arises and which the present invention aims to solve is to provide a lock cylinder which can be adapted to walls of any thickness. In order to solve this problem, the present invention provides a lock cylinder comprising a stator to be engaged through a wall and a ring to lock said stator in said wall, said stator having a cylindrical body terminated by a flange. stopping, said body having an outer surface, said outer surface alternately having flat axial areas and axial areas of circular symmetry, said surface having latching portions, said ring having an inner wall and radial portions projecting from said internal wall, said ring being adapted to be engaged freely in translation around said cylindrical body to engage said radial portions in said attachment portions so as to lock said ring in a fixed position on said cylindrical body at a distance from said collar and way to grip said wall between said flange and said ring, according to the invention, said outer surface in said axial areas of circular symmetry is threaded to form said fastening portions, while said inner wall in said radial portions is threaded and, on the one hand said crown is adapted to be driven in translation on said cylindrical body, when said radial projecting portions coincide with said flattened zones 25, to adjust the relative position of said ring and said collar, and secondly, the threaded radial portions are adapted to engage the axial threaded areas when said ring is rotated about said cylindrical body to lock said ring in a fixed position on said cylindrical body and clamp said wall. Thus, a characteristic of the invention lies in the mode of cooperation of the ring and of said cylindrical body which makes it possible to adjust the position of the ring at a given distance from the collar as a function of the thickness of the wall and then, when the crown is supported on the rear face, while the collar is against the front face, to lock the crown in a fixed position on said cylindrical body at said given distance. In this way, such a lock cylinder is adaptable on leaves of different thicknesses.
According to an advantageous characteristic of the invention, said inner wall of said ring has two projecting radial portions diametrically opposite one another. Thus, the axial forces exerted on the ring by means of the projecting radial portions, which are engaged in the axial threaded areas of the outer surface, are distributed lo symmetrically. In this way, the crown takes in vice, with the collar, the wall stably. In addition, according to a particular embodiment of the invention, said outer surface has two diametrically opposite axial diametric axial zones, in which said radial portions protruding from the crown respectively engage respectively. As will be explained below, such a characteristic makes it possible to provide a thread length sufficiently large to ensure a reasonable tightening of the wall between the flange and the crown. This feature makes the stator integral and the wall rigidly. According to a particularly advantageous embodiment of the invention, said ring is a standard hex nut. In this way, the crown can be rotated by force using a standard or flat-key, for example, so as to clamp the wall between the flange and the crown. According to another particular embodiment of the invention, said flat axial zones are substantially parallel and they are radially separated from one another by a given distance d, while said projecting radial portions are separated. from each other by a distance d1 substantially greater than said given distance d. In this way, when the crown is presented to be engaged around the cylindrical body, in a relative angular position where the projecting radial portions coincide with the flattened axial zones of the outer surface, the crown can then be driven freely in translation on the cylindrical body. With this feature, the crown can be easily introduced around said body and especially quickly without having to screw the entire length of the cylindrical body. In addition, said circular symmetry zones advantageously have, along a cross-section of said stator, the same radius of curvature R greater than d / 2. According to another advantageous characteristic of the invention, said areas of circular symmetry, in a cross section of the cylindrical body, each form an arc whose length is greater than rrR / 2. Thus, the lo circular areas of symmetry extend, in width and therefore along a cross section of the cylindrical body, over more than a quarter of the circumference of said body. In this way, the clamping stroke of the ring around the cylindrical body is sufficient to ensure the fixing of the lock cylinder through the wall, even though the latter would be slightly compressible, which would require a larger clamping stroke . Preferably, said flattened axial zones have a width substantially greater than R / 2, which corresponds, in a straight section of the cylinder to an arc portion itself corresponding to an angle of rr / 6. Such a width of flat axial zones makes it possible to adjust the ring around the cylinder in order to drive it in translation, with a satisfactory angular offset tolerance which thus allows a quick adjustment. According to another advantageous characteristic of the invention, the stator is made of a metallic material, for example brass. Thus, the stator can be molded in one piece. In this way, a rigid lock cylinder 25 is obtained at an advantageous cost. Other features and advantages of the invention will appear on reading the following description of a particular embodiment of the invention, given by way of indication but not limitation, with reference to the accompanying drawings, in which: - Figure 1 is a schematic perspective view of a part of the lock cylinder, according to the invention; - Figure 2 is a schematic cross-sectional view of the part shown in Figure 1; - Figure 3 is a schematic elevational view of a complementary part; and - Figure 4 is a schematic perspective view of a lock cylinder installed through a wall. Figures 1 and 2 show a stator 12 of axis of symmetry A, inside 13 which can be installed a rotor not shown. The stator 12 has ribs 15 alternating with grooves 11, for locking and unlocking the rotating rotor by means of pistons or straws not shown. The stator 12 has a cylindrical body 18 terminated by a stop flange 16. The stop flange 16 forms a shoulder 17. The cylindrical body 18 has an outer surface 19, which has two diametrically opposed flat axial zones 20 one of the other, and two axial zones of circular symmetry 22, also diametrically opposite one another. The two axial zones of circular symmetry 22 and of common axis of symmetry A have, in a cross-section, a radius R. The flat axial zones 20 have a substantially flat surface 26 and are substantially parallel to each other. other. In addition, they are diametrically separated from one another by a given distance d, for example between 8 and 20 mm. The surface 26 of the axial zones of circular symmetry 22 has fastening portions 24 threaded by means of a threading tool, a die. The cylindrical body 18, considering the axial zones of circular symmetry 22, has a diameter of between 10 and 25 mm, for example 15 mm. In addition, the axial zones of circular symmetry 22, along a straight section of the stator 12, form an arc whose length is between 6Rr / 12 and 10Rr / 12, for example 8Rrr / 12. Consequently, the flat axial zones 20 has a width substantially between 17 R / 12 and R / 2 and according to said example, equal to R. In other words, the circular symmetry zones 22 represent at least the majority of the circumference of the outer surface 26, which allows, as will be explained below, to ensure a stable fixation of the lock cylinder 10 through the wall 32.
Moreover, the lock cylinder 10 is preferably made of a metallic material such as brass. This feature not only makes it possible to manufacture an inexpensive lock, but also to secure the lock cylinder securely through a wall.
The lock cylinder 10 is intended to lock for example a cupboard door, furniture, or computer case. To do this, the unrepresented rotor which then projects from one end 36 of the cylindrical body 18, is provided with a threshing cam actuated by a keyed control. Referring now to Figure 3 showing a ring 14. The crown 4 has an inner wall 28 which has two projecting radial portions 30 diametrically opposed to each other. The internal wall is threaded at the two projecting radial portions 30, by means of a tapping tool, or tap, corresponding to the aforementioned threading tool 15, so as to screw said ring on said cylindrical body, as we will explain below. The protruding radial portions 30 are diametrically separated from each other by a distance d1 substantially greater than the given distance d. This distance d1 is between 9 and 21 mm, for example 16 mm and above all, it is close to a value equivalent to twice the radius R. The ring 14 has a radius R1 substantially greater than the radius R. In addition, the ring 14 has an outer wall 29 hexagonal so as to form a hexagonal nut. In this way, the ring 14 is adapted to be screwed by force around the cylindrical body 18 by means of a suitable key. The method of mounting the lock cylinder 10 in accordance with the invention and through a wall 32 will now be described with reference to FIG. 4. An orifice 34 is firstly made through a wall which has a geometry almost identical to the section of the cylindrical body 18. That is to say that the inner edge of the orifice, has two opposite portions of substantially circular symmetry 30 to receive the two circular zones of symmetry 22 of the outer surface 19, and, offset by 90 °, two substantially rectilinear portions opposite to receive the two axial zones 20 of the same external surface 19. Then, the cylindrical body 18 is introduced into the orifice 34 made in the wall 32, by a front face 33, until the flange 16, hidden in this Figure 3 by the wall 32, abuts against the periphery of the orifice 34. Given the geometries of the cylindrical body 18 and the orifice 34, the body cylindrical is locked in rotation in the orifice 34.
Once the cylindrical body 18 has been inserted, the crown 14 is threaded onto the body 18 via its end 36. For this, the ring 14 is presented opposite the end 36 and is angularly positioned relative to the cylindrical body 18 of the in such a way that the protruding radial portions 30 are fitted in the extension of the flattened axial zones 20. Then, the ring 14 is driven in translation onto the cylindrical body 18 which passes therethrough, and the projecting radial portions 30 of the ring 14 are consequently driven along the flattened axial zones 20, while the circular symmetry zones 22 of the outer surface 19 allow the free sliding of the ring as they pass through the ring 14 facing the inner wall 28 outside the projecting radial portions 30. Thus, the ring 14 is engaged freely, easily and especially rapidly in translation around the cylindrical body 18. After the crown 14, e it is pressed against a rear face 35 of the wall 32, the crown 14 is then rotated around the cylindrical body 18. The diametrically opposite, diametrically opposed radial portions 30 then come into engagement with one another respectively. in the threaded fastening portions 24 of the two axial zones of opposite circular symmetry 22. As the rotation of the ring 14, a few tens of degrees, for example, it is driven in translation towards the flange 16 so as to grip the wall 32 between said flange 16 and said ring 14. Moreover, the threaded threads of the threaded radial portions 30 and respectively of the threaded fastener portions 24 allow the wall 32 to be clamped and the crown 14 and the cylindrical body 18 to be locked with precisely a minimum rotation of the Crown 14 not exceeding 90 °. Indeed, a rotation equivalent to 180 ° would be to readjust the radial portions 30 in the flat axial zones 20 and to allow again, the translational movement of the ring 14 on the cylindrical body 18.
In addition, thanks to the geometry of the orifice 34, and that of the cylindrical body 18, the latter is locked in rotation. In this way, when the ring 14 is rotated, there is no need to maintain the cylindrical body 18 to lock it in rotation.
Thus, the ring 14 is locked in a fixed position on the cylindrical body 18 by tightening the wall 32. The invention thus makes it possible to adjust the position of the ring 14 on the body 18 of the lock cylinder 10 with respect to the collar 16. Therefore, the lock cylinder according to the invention is not only adaptable to walls of any thickness, but also, the mounting is made much faster and therefore less expensive.
