Description
The present invention relates to a secure method of automatically closing a trunk of a motor vehicle. The invention is essentially intended to reassure a motor vehicle user, during an automatic closing operation of the trunk of his vehicle, especially when said trunk is hatch type. The field of the invention is, in a general manner, the so-called devices for comfort of use of motor vehicles, intended to facilitate for a user different interventions that he performs on his vehicle. Among these devices, there are known for example central locking devices of the doors and the trunk, electric closing devices of the windows, but also different devices for automatic closing of doors, for example doors or trunk. In the case of the doors of certain vehicles, there are sliding doors whose closure is controlled by a pressure of the user on a particular button, present for example on a device type identifier, also likely to serve as a start key of the vehicle, or directly on the vehicle. In the case of chests, there is also the possibility of pressing a button, most often located at the most accessible end of the trunk when it is in the open position, to cause the immediate closure of said trunk. For example, in the case of tailgate type boxes, some vehicles have at the free end of the tailgate, often on the right side thereof, a button dedicated to the automatic closing of the tailgate: a pressure by a under the tailgate, this dedicated button triggers the immediate closing of the tailgate. A problem quickly appeared with such devices for which the closing operation is triggered immediately: the user is still under the tailgate when the closing operation begins. He may be frightened by the triggering of the movement, and has, in any case, only a short time to get out of the trajectory of the tailgate when it closes. Some devices provide shock sensors that stop the movement of the trunk when it comes into contact with an obstacle. But such devices are not satisfactory in terms of user comfort In order to answer this problem, it has been proposed in the state of the art to use sensors that make it possible to detect the presence of elements, and including individuals, in a so-called detection zone, defined by the following principle: if the tailgate was closed while an element is placed in the detection zone, a shock between the tailgate and the element considered would occur. For this purpose, different types of sensors can be used; in particular, it is possible to use ultrasonic sensors which are arranged at the rear bumper of the vehicle, and which are usually used to perform a parking aid function. Such sensors make it possible to obtain precise information on the distance between an element present behind the vehicle and the rear of the vehicle, and thus to determine whether it is present in said detection zone. Other sensors can also be used. In particular, camera-based systems and image processing algorithms can be used to detect the presence of such an element and estimate the distance to which it is located. In the state of the art, an example of which is schematically represented in FIG. 1, the detection zone, associated with a vehicle 105, has always been limited to a zone in which the presence of an element would bring about an entry into contact. with the tailgate if it closed. In practice, the detection zone thus corresponds to the projection 100 on the ground of the tailgate 101 when it is in an open position, substantially horizontal. As soon as a user 106 is out of this zone, and activates the automatic closing of the tailgate, for example by means of a remote control 102, the automatic closure 103 of the tailgate can be engaged. However, in the case where the user is just at the limit of the detection zone, as is the case in the example shown, he feels, at the moment of setting in movement of the tailgate that closes while moving around an axis of rotation 107, a feeling of apprehension, the rim of the tailgate passing at a distance 104 equal to only a few millimeters of his body. This unpleasant feeling is detrimental to the use of the automatic closing function, which may even be abandoned by the user for the reasons just explained.
The object of the invention proposes a solution to the problems just mentioned. In the invention, it is proposed to ensure that the user of the vehicle is no longer embarrassed, particularly by a sense of apprehension, when an automatic closing operation of the tailgate of his vehicle is performed. For this purpose, it is proposed to define a wider security zone than those defined in the embodiments of the state of the art: in the invention, a so-called safety contour is defined which increases the conventionally defined detection zone. Thus, in the invention, the automatic closing of the tailgate is not engaged either when the user is out of the detection zone as defined above, but out of a safety zone corresponding to the detection zone increased by the contour of the tailgate. security. The user will no longer feel the feeling of risk of shock with the tailgate closing movement.
The invention therefore essentially relates to a method of automatically closing a vehicle door, said door being a hatchback type, characterized in that it comprises the various steps of: -defining a safety zone corresponding to a projection on the ground the shape of the hatchback, increased by a safety contour; - determine whether an element likely to hinder the closing of the tailgate is present in the safety zone; if no element is detected in the safety zone, close the tailgate. In addition to the main features that have just been mentioned in the preceding paragraph, the method according to the invention may have one or more additional characteristics among the following: - considering that the projection of the tailgate on the ground has a central edge corresponding to the projection from the horizontal edge of the tailgate in the closed position, a first lateral edge and a second lateral edge respectively corresponding to the projection of a first vertical edge and a second vertical edge of the tailgate in the closed position, then the safety contour is wider at the level of the central edge only at the level of the lateral edges; the safety contour at the central edge has a constant thickness; the safety contour at the first lateral edge and at the level of the second lateral edge has a thickness which varies more and more as a function of the distance of the vehicle; more particularly, the safety contour at the first lateral edge and at the second lateral edge has a thickness that varies increasingly depending on the distance of the hinge of the vehicle, hinge materializing the axis of rotation of the tailgate when it closes. the variation in thickness as a function of the distance of the vehicle is linear; the safety contour has a maximum thickness of between 25 centimeters and 35 centimeters, in particular 30 centimeters; - The step of determining whether an element likely to hinder the closing of the tailgate is present in the safety zone involves at least one sensor used in a parking assistance function. All the additional features of the method according to the invention, insofar as they are not mutually exclusive, are combined according to all the possibilities of association to lead to different examples of implementation of the invention. The present invention also relates to a motor vehicle adapted to implement the method according to the invention of automatic closing securing a vehicle trunk.
The invention and its various applications will be better understood by reading the following description and examining the figures that accompany it. These are presented only as an indication and in no way limitative of the invention. The figures show: in FIG. 1, already described, a schematic representation of a user triggering the automatic closing of the tailgate of his vehicle; - In Figure 2, a safety zone involved in an exemplary implementation of the method according to the invention. In Figure 2, there is shown schematically in a view from above the vehicle 105. At the rear of the vehicle is shown, contained in a perimeter shown in dotted lines, a detection zone 200 applied in the state of the art. In the invention, a new safety zone 201 is defined, which corresponds to the detection zone 200 to which a safety contour 202 has been added. The safety contour is taken into consideration by the various sensors of the vehicle capable of intervene to evaluate a distance between an element and the rear of the vehicle 105, and to control according to this distance the automatic closing of the tailgate. As long as an element is detected in the newly defined safety zone 201, the automatic closing of the tailgate is not started.
In the example considered, the new safety zone has a generally trapezoidal shape: the projection of the tailgate on the ground has a central edge 203 corresponding to the projection of the tailgate edge which is generally horizontal when the latter is in the closed position, a first lateral edge 204 and a second lateral edge 205 respectively corresponding to the projection of a first edge and a second edge of the tailgate which are generally vertical when the latter is in the closed position. The safety contour 202 surrounds the entire safety zone 200. Thus, no matter where the user of the vehicle is, the feeling of apprehension felt during the automatic closing of the tailgate will have disappeared. the user necessarily being further from the tailgate than in the exemplary embodiments of the state of the art. In the example shown, it has been proposed to adapt the shape of the safety contour 202 to the feeling of apprehension that the user could feel as a function of his position with respect to the tailgate when it closes: indeed, the feeling of apprehension depends in particular on the speed of the tailgate point closest to the user during his closing movement. The speed of the point considered, because the tailgate performs a rotational movement about the axis of rotation 107, depends directly on the distance from said point of the axis of rotation: thus, the closer the user is to the axis of rotation, plus the safety contour may have a small thickness. Such a statement is reflected in the shape of the safety contour as shown in Figure 2: it has a greater thickness at the central edge than at the side edges; moreover, at the level of the first lateral edge and at the level of the second lateral edge, the safety contour has a thickness which varies increasingly and linearly as a function of the distance of the vehicle. In another embodiment, it is proposed to add to the security zone 200 a safety contour 202 of constant thickness, for example between 25 and 35 centimeters.
To meet the needs of appeasement of the user, a maximum thickness of the safety contour of the order of thirty centimeters appears sufficient.
