La présente invention concerne un emballage en particulier adapté pour contenir un fromage à pâte molle dans des conditions d'affinage et de conservation améliorées, l'emballage comportant un socle rigide et un couvercle déformable de type cloche qui est clipé sur un rebord de ce socle. L'invention s'applique de manière générale au conditionnement de tout fromage ou spécialité fromagère tel que, outre les fromages à pâte molle, ceux à pâte fraîche, les fromages de type bleu et ceux à pâte pressée. II est connu par le document EP-A-1 767 458 de conditionner des produits laitiers dans une cloche rigide qui est montée amovible sur un socle plat également rigide, lequel est réalisé en une matière plastique. Le socle est pourvu d'une pluralité d'ergots sous lesquels vient buter une gouttière périphérique discontinue de la cloche, pour le verrouillage de la cloche en position de fermeture sur le socle, le déverrouillage étant réalisé via une traction et une rotation de la cloche sur le socle.
