Abstract

The vehicle has a roll bar (1) that is mobile between an active position and an inactive position, where the roll bar can be displaced manually. The roll bar is constantly maintained in the active position and is placed in the inactive position during displacement of a rooftop. The roll bar in the active position is located at the level of zone of backrests of rear seats and overlaps the rooftop in its stored position inside a boot (5). The roll bar is tilted towards front for passing the roll bar from the active position to the inactive position.

Description

TOIT MOBILE AVEC ARCEAU L'invention se rapporte à un véhicule à toitMOBILE ROOF WITH ARCE The invention relates to a roofed vehicle

For conventional vehicles, the roof structure directly constitutes a roll bar protecting the passengers during a reversal of the vehicle.

For vehicles called cabriolet that do not have a roof, it is necessary to provide a roll bar. Especially for aesthetic reasons, we use a rollbar that deploys when an impact is detected. For convertible convertible vehicles such as vehicles whose roof is movable from a position such that the roof covers the passenger compartment to a stored position, it is also possible to use arches that deploy during an impact because the presence of a fixed hoop may hinder the movement of the roof to change positions. These mechanisms of deployment of the hoop and shock detection are reliable but have a high cost. The objective is therefore to propose an interesting solution that is simple in construction and, moreover, provides additional security. For this purpose, the invention relates to a vehicle with a movable roof comprising a rollbar movable between an active position and an inactive position, this vehicle being characterized in that the rollbar is constantly maintained in the active position and that is placed in the inactive position when moving the roof. The invention will be better understood from the following description given by way of non-limiting example with reference to the drawing which shows schematically FIG. 1 An example of a vehicle equipped with the invention in side view FIG. rear of the vehicle with the roof in place FIG 3 a rear view of the vehicle the roof being stored 25 FIG 4 a side view of the vehicle the roof being arranged FIG 5 a top view of FIG. 4. Referring to the drawings, FIG. a vehicle with a movable roof comprising a safety bar 1 movable between an active position and an inactive position. In the example shown, this hoop 1 is movable about an axis 2 transverse to the conventional direction of movement of the vehicle. In Figure 1 or 4 or 5, the inactive position is shown in dotted line.

Advantageously, the hoop 1 is constantly maintained in the active position and it is placed in the inactive position during the displacement of the roof. It provides additional safety even when the mobile roof covers the passenger compartment. S Its inactive position prevents its presence from interfering with the movement kinematics of the roof. There is shown a single-body or two-body type vehicle whose roof comprises a front portion 3 and a rear portion 4. On this type of vehicle the rear portion 4 carries the front portion and the rear portion retracts vertically.

To be more effective, the safety bar 1, in the active position, is located in the area of the rear seat backrests and therefore the fictitious separation between the boot 5 and the passenger compartment 6. In this active position, the hoop is slightly inclined towards the rear and is positioned under the rear roof element, the movable roof covering the passenger compartment but when the movable roof is in the stored position in the trunk, the hoop 1, in its active position , rides the movable roof in this position stored in the trunk. As can be seen in Figure 2, the arch marries the internal cross section of the rear roof when the movable roof covers the passenger compartment. It will be understood that the rear roof can not descend unless it tilts the bow forward towards its inactive position. Due to the roof width reduction towards the top, the rear roof assembly 4 plus front roof 3 can be positioned under the safety arch 1 when in the active position (FIG. 3). There is shown a rear roof 4 comprising both an upper wall 4A but also secured to this upper wall, lateral elements 4B such as side windows but these side windows could be housed in pockets provided in the bodywork or be swivel mounted at their upper edge. In one embodiment, the hoop comprises several active positions so that the horizontal branch can be at different levels so when the roof 30 covers the passenger compartment, the horizontal branch of the hoop can be located more towards the rear to clear the cabin and therefore less high while when the roof is stored, the hoop is in a more vertical position so that the horizontal branch is higher and provides better security. In Figure 4, there is shown the protection line 7 determined by the crossbar 8 of the windshield and the top of the hoop 1. The arch is hinged on bearings 9 carried by a structural part of the vehicle. Locking means in rotation make it possible to immobilize the rollbar in the required position. These means have not been shown but it is possible to use conventional manual or motorized means located in the vicinity of the articulation bearings.

For reasons of simplicity, the movement of the hoop will be done manually. Motorized control may also be considered. Preferably, a position sensor of the rollbar (not shown) will allow or not the maneuvering of the roof. Indeed it is only when the hoop is in its inactive position that the movement of the roof is allowed.

In the single-body or two-body configuration shown, the rear window retracts into a rear door before lowering the rear roof element.
