Abstract
Description
The realization of a driving learning vehicle involves, especially when it is a truck-type vehicle, to adapt the dual-pedal system to an existing vehicle. This adaptation involves the establishment of a pedal on the side of the passenger seat, on which the monitor is intended to take place, and to provide a transmission system between the pedal located on the side of the driver and the one located on the side of the monitor. There are two types of dual control systems, one of which includes a transmission rods between the two cranks, and a second comprises a transmission by pulleys and cables between the same cranks. These rods, pulleys and cables must be placed in the appropriate places for a good replication of the controls at the monitor. They must also cross the "tunnel", that is to say the housing housing of the powertrain of the vehicle, located between the driver's seat and the passenger seat. The first type of system includes a more or less standard set of rods and rods. It has the drawbacks of being bulky and especially not adaptable as is to different types of vehicles. As a result, it is necessary to modify this standard system to adapt it to each type of vehicle. This adaptation work must also be done when an existing type of vehicle is being upgraded. In addition, relatively long delays are necessary to achieve the adaptation and / or implementation of the systems. The second type of system is more adaptable than the first type, given the latitude it allows in the positioning of the pulleys and therefore in the passage of cables. However, it has the drawbacks of involving the realization of a fairly large number of holes and being poorly integrated into the passenger compartment, appearing as an added element, unattractive. In addition, this system involves frequent replacement of wear parts, including cables. The present invention aims to remedy all of these disadvantages. The system it concerns comprises, in a manner known per se, a second pedal, intended to be used by a monitor, and transmission means for replicating the commands of the pedal pedals of the driver on the second pedal.
According to the invention, the transmission means comprise at least one group of three elongated elements, in which at least two elements are tubular and are engaged coaxially with each other and on the third element, with the possibility of pivoting independently of each other. one element in relation to the other two; the group or groups of elements form a transmission extending from the crankset located on the driver's side to said second crankset; the three pedal pedals located on the driver's side are connected respectively to the three elements, and each of the three elements is connected, at said second pedal, directly or via another group of three elements, to a pedal of this second pedal.
Given the arrangement of three elements coaxially with each other, the system has a small footprint, does not involve the realization of a large number of holes, is adaptable as is, depending on whether it includes one or more groups of tubes, to a large number of vehicle types, and integrates well with the vehicle interior, both from a functional and an aesthetic point of view. The element located inside the other two may be tubular structure, like the other two elements, or may be solid structure. This element can be carried by bearings and serve as a pivot axis for the pedal or pedals connected thereto, as well as for the other two elements engaged on it. The transmission means may comprise a single group of elongate elements, extending continuously from one pedal to the other. The system is then more particularly intended for a vehicle having a "tunnel" not too high, whose height is such that the elongated elements can extend continuously from one pedal to the other. In this case, preferably, the ends of the three elements are, at a pedal, shifted in the axial direction, and each pedal of this pedal is connected to a corresponding element; at the level of the other pedal, the pedal of the same type as that connected to the first element in the first pedal is connected to this first element, the pedal of the same type as the one connected to the second element in the first pedal is connected to a pipe section engaged pivotally on the first element and secured in rotation to the second element, and the pedal of the same type as that connected to the third element in the first pedal is connected to another pipe section pivotally engaged on the first section of tube and secured in rotation to the third element. When the vehicle to be equipped comprises a "tunnel" which does not allow the elongated elements to extend continuously from one crankset to the other, the system according to the invention advantageously comprises two groups of elongate elements, each comprising three elements, each element of a group being rotatably connected to a corresponding element of the other group by appropriate means of transmission of rotation, including for example rods and ball joints. Advantageously, in this case, the ends of the three elements of a first group are, at the level of the corresponding pedal, shifted in the axial direction and each of the pedals of this pedal is connected to a corresponding element; the opposite ends of these three elements of the first group are also axially offset at said rotational transmission means, as are the adjacent ends of the elements of the second group; the inner element in this first group is connected to the outer element in the second group, the intermediate element of the first group is connected to the intermediate element of the second group and the outer element in the first group is connected to the inner element in the second group; the ends of the three elements of the second group are, at the level of the other pedal, also shifted in the axial direction and each of the pedals of the other pedal is connected to a corresponding element. This structure makes it possible to avoid the use of pipe sections to be connected to the corresponding elongate elements of the system, as is the case in the embodiment described above. The structure of the system is simplified. Advantageously, one or more of the elements comprises abutments for the longitudinal wedging of one or more other elements with respect to this element; for the same purpose, the system may comprise springs for positioning elements relative to each other, and in particular to position a pedal in the center of the arranged space, according to the first embodiment, between the one elongate elements and the corresponding tube section. The system may also include bearings with mounting plates, allowing its mounting in the passenger compartment of the vehicle to be equipped.
The invention will be better understood, and other features and advantages thereof will become apparent, with reference to the attached schematic drawing, showing, by way of non-limiting examples, two possible embodiments of the system it relates. Figure 1 is a schematic view, very simplified, of the system according to a first embodiment, in longitudinal section of elongate elements that includes this system; Figure 2 is a view of this system in section along line II-II of Figure 1; Figure 3 is a view similar to Figure 1 of the system according to a second embodiment, and Figure 4 is a view of an alternative embodiment. Figure 1 shows a dual pedal control system 1 for a training vehicle, in particular a truck. The system 1 comprises a second crankset 2, intended to be used by a monitor taking place on the passenger seat of the vehicle, and transmission means 3 for replicating the commands of the pedal pedals 4 of the driver on the second crankset 2. In the embodiment shown in Figures 1 and 2, the transmission means 3 comprises three elongate elements 10, 11, 12, namely a solid inner member 10, carried by bearings 15 integral with the vehicle, an intermediate tubular element 11 and an outer tubular element 12. These elements 10, 11, 12 are engaged coaxially with one another and can pivot independently of each other. They extend continuously from the crankset 4 to the crankset 2.
At the level of the pedal 4, the ends of the three elements 10, 11, 12 are offset in the axial direction, the end of the element 11 being set back from that of the element 10 and the end of the element 12 is set back from that of the element 11. The clutch pedal 40 of this pedal 4 is connected to the element 10, the brake pedal 41 is connected to the element 11 and the accelerator pedal 42 is connected to the element 12. Each pedal 40, 41, 42 is connected to the corresponding element 10, 11, 12 by links 67, ball joints and radial arms 68 attached to the element 10. At the level of the pedal 2, the clutch pedal 20 is connected directly to the element 10; the brake pedal 21 is connected to a section of tube 50 pivotally engaged on the element 10 and rotatably connected to the element 11 by means of a semi-tubular splint 51 fixed to the tube section 50 of a part and the element 11 on the other hand, in particular by welding; the accelerator pedal 22 is connected to another section of tube 52 pivotally engaged on the tube section 50 and rotatably fastened to the element 12 by means of a semi-tubular splint 53 fixed to the tube section 52 of on the one hand and element 12 on the other. The bearing 15 located on the side of the pedal 4 can form an axial stop for the element 11, and this element 11 comprises radial projections 55, in particular in the form of welded washers, forming axial stops for the element 12. This principle of axial stops can be found on the three elements 10, 11, 12. The system may comprise springs (not shown) for positioning the elements relative to each other, and in particular to position the clutch pedal 20 in the center of the space arranged between the element 11 and the section of tube 50.
The system further comprises one or more bearings 60 with mounting plates 61, allowing its mounting in the passenger compartment of the vehicle to be equipped. The system 1 shown in FIGS. 1 and 2 is more particularly intended for a vehicle having a "tunnel" not too high, the height of which is such that the elongate elements 10, 11, 12 can extend continuously from the pedal 2 4. Figure 3 shows an embodiment of the system 1 more particularly for a vehicle having a "tunnel" high does not allow the elongate elements 10, 11, 12 to extend continuously the crankset 4 2. For simplicity, the parts or elements of the preceding embodiment which are identical or similar in this embodiment will be identified by the same reference numerals and will not be described again. In this case, the system 1 comprises two groups 3a, 3b of elongated elements each comprising three elements 10, 11, 12, each element 10, 11, 12, of the group 3a being connected in rotation to a corresponding element 12, 11, 10 of group 3b by appropriate rotation transmission means. In the example shown, these transmission means include pairs of rods 65 and ball joints connected to respective radial arms 66, integral with the elements 10, 11, 12.
The ends of the three elements 10, 11, 12 of the first group 3a are, at the level of the pedal 4, shifted in the axial direction, the end of the element 11 being set back from that of the element 10 and the end of the element 12 being set back from that of the element 11. The clutch pedal 40 of this pedal 4 is connected to the element 10, the brake pedal 41 to the element 11 and the pedal accelerator 42 to the element 12. In the example shown, the pedals 40, 41 and 42 are connected to the corresponding elements 10, 11, 12 by means of connecting rods 67 and ball joints and respective radial arms 68, integral with the elements 10, 11, 12. The opposite ends of these three elements 10, 11, 12 of the first group 3a are also axially offset at the rods 65, with also the end of the element 12 set back from that of the element 11 and that of the element 11 set back from that of the el item 10; in the same way, the adjacent ends of the elements 10, 11, 12 of the second group 3b are offset in the axial direction, with the end of the element 12 set back from that of the element 11 and that of the element 11 away from that of element 10; the element 10 of the first group 3a is connected to the element 12 of the second group 3b, the element 11 of the first group 3a is connected to the element 11 of the second group 3b and the element 12 of the first group 3a is connected to the element 10 of the second group 3b; the ends of the three elements 10, 11, 12 of the second group 3b are, at the level of the pedal 2, also shifted in the axial direction, with the end of the element 12 set back from that of the element 11 and that of the element 11 set back from that of the element 10; the clutch pedal 20 of this pedal 2 is connected directly to the element 12, the brake pedal 21 is connected directly to the element 11 and the accelerator pedal 22 is connected directly to the element 10. This structure of the system 1 according to Figure 3 avoids the use of sections of tube 50, 52 and ribs 51, 53, as is the case in the embodiment described above. As will be apparent from the foregoing, the invention provides a dual pedal control system for a driving training vehicle, particularly for a heavy vehicle, having the decisive advantages of having a small footprint, not to involve the realization of a large number of holes, to be adaptable to a large number of types of vehicle, and to integrate well into the cabin of the vehicle, both from the functional point of view and from the point of view of aesthetic view. It goes without saying that the invention is not limited to the embodiment described above by way of example but that it extends to all embodiments covered by the appended claims. In particular, FIG. 4 shows an alternative structure for connecting a pedal 40 to the element 10, comprising a single link 67 and a clamp 70 for clamping the stem of the pedal 40.
