Abstract

The invention relates to a plastic handling pallet

  comprising feet protruding under a tray of substantially rectangular shape.

  Handling pallets are traditionally made of wood, but there are also known handling pallets of plastic, generally obtained by injection molding. By way of examples of plastic handling pallets may be mentioned the known embodiments of the French patent documents FR-2070367, FR2172412, FR-2259023 and also by the documents WO-96/24529, US-5341748, DE- 2306869, DE-2720364, EP-231792, EP452726 and finally AT-307980.

  All the products that can be found on a pallet in the industry and in the distribution, for example bottles, can be packaged and secured to the pallet by means of a stretch or heat-shrinkable packaging film. The packaging of the loading of a pallet with a film is economical and has the advantages of maintaining the load firmly and stably, to protect the load from shocks and scratches, and to guarantee the inviolability of the load. The stretchable film has excellent elastic properties and is tightly wound by applying a certain tension force around the load in the manner of a cocoon. The shrink film is in the form of a cover that caps the load and that is heated to about 110 C so that it shrinks to heat, comes to marry the shape of the load by pressing on it and freezes on cooling.

  When the packaging film partially wraps the edges of the pallet with loading, the film does not firmly grip the pallet because it has no grip on the edges of the pallet. When the packaging film completely envelops the edges of the pallet passing slightly under the pallet, the pallet and the load are perfectly secured, but the spaces provided for receiving the fork arms of the handling equipment are then obstructed.

  The object of the invention is to overcome these disadvantages.

  For this purpose, the subject of the invention is a plastic handling pallet comprising feet arranged under a substantially rectangular shaped tray, characterized in that each foot comprises a recess which extends towards the inside of the foot and which opens to the outside of the pallet. With this arrangement, a packaging film can, by inserting into the recesses, support and grip below the tray over the entire periphery of the tray to maintain the load against the pallet tray.

  According to particular embodiments of the invention, the pallet comprises three parallel feet which extend longitudinally under the plate between two opposite edges of the plate, or three parallel rows of three feet.

  According to yet another embodiment of the invention, the pallet has a plate and feet openwork structure like "honeycomb". According to another particular embodiment of the invention, each foot is hollow and has a tubular structure which opens into the recess of the foot.

  An example of a particular embodiment of the pallet according to the invention is described in more detail below and illustrated by the drawings. This description is given as an indicative and non-limiting example of the invention.

  FIG. 1 shows a pallet 1 according to the present invention comprising a plate 2 and three feet 3, or spacers protruding under the plate 2. The plate 2 is substantially rectangular with two opposite lateral edges 4 and two opposite longitudinal edges 5. The three feet 3, arranged under the plate 2, extend parallel and longitudinally between the two opposite side edges 4 of the plate 2. The two outer legs 3 are offset inwardly of the plate 2 relative to the longitudinal edges 5 so that a cover of heat-shrinkable film can grip the plate 2 under the longitudinal edges 5.

  FIG. 2 clearly shows that each foot 3 extends under the entire length of the plate 2 between the opposite lateral edges 4 of the plate 2.

  Each foot 3 extends at its two ends substantially in the extension of the side edges 4 of the plate 2. A recess 6 or a notch is formed on each side of the feet 3, just below the plate 2.   The arrangement of the recessed feet according to the invention does not affect the strength of the pallet. Of course, it is possible that the outer legs 3 extend substantially in the extension of the longitudinal edges 5 of the plate 2, each further having a recess such as 6 over their entire length below the longitudinal edges 5 of the plate.

  Such a plastic pallet 1 can be manufactured by an injection molding process.

  In Figure 3, there is shown another embodiment of a pallet 1 'according to the invention. This pallet 1 'comprises a substantially rectangular plate 2' with lateral edges 4 'and longitudinal 5', feet 3 'and a sole 7'. Such pallet 1 'comprises nine feet 3 or pads, partially visible only in Figure 3, arranged in three parallel rows of three feet. The pallet 1 'differs from the pallet 1 only in the fact that it comprises a sole 7' and that each foot 3 of the pallet 1 corresponds to a row of three feet 3 'in the pallet 1'.   The lower rim of the pallet plate according to the invention is thus cleared over a few centimeters, over the entire periphery of the plate, which allows a shrink-wrapped film cover to firmly grip the plate of the pallet.

  The invention is applicable to various types of plastic handling pallets: single-use pallets or reusable pallets, pallets stackable or not, pallets with single feet or pads, or pallets with soles, etc. these pallets can be naturally of any size , in particular of standardized dimensions.
