Description

The invention relates to a hemostatic device for performing a

  compression on a bleeding wound to stop the bleeding, as well as a bandage kit.

  Hemostatic devices currently manufactured generally include a strip of elastic tissue that is wrapped around the wound.

  The band is stretched during its installation and presses directly on the wound by means of a cushion of absorbent and slightly compressible material, usually fixed at one end of the band.

  The closure of this device is generally provided either by metal claws which are stapled to the fabric itself, or by a system of loops and hooks, normally referred to as the Velcro brand.

  In addition, some devices include a compress bandage attached to the cushion by an adhesive, allowing the absorption of blood.

  Although widely used, such devices have many disadvantages.

  Other aims and advantages of the invention will become apparent from the description which follows, which is given for information only and which is not intended to limit it.

  The invention relates to a haemostatic device, capable of allowing controlled compression on a wound in order to stop the haemorrhage without forming a tourniquet, comprising a band formed, in its longitudinal direction, by a succession of alternating inextensible sections with elastic sections. , a cushion, placed at one end of said band and means for fastening the band in the compression position, characterized in that it comprises an absorbent bandage, capable of being directed towards the wound, and secured at the level of said end of said strip, further constituting a housing for containing and maintaining said cushion.

  According to an advantageous embodiment, the hemostatic device of the present invention has two elastic sections separated by an inextensible section, but many other embodiments may be envisaged.

  In addition, the invention relates to an emergency hemostatic kit comprising, on the one hand, a haemostatic device as mentioned above, and on the other hand, a pair of gloves and / or a laying label.

  As illustrated more particularly in FIGS. 1 and 2, the present invention relates to a haemostatic device for compressing a bleeding wound in order to stop the haemorrhage without forming a tourniquet.

  The device comprises a band 1 constituted, in its longitudinal direction, by a succession of elastic sections 3, 5 alternated with the inextensible sections 4.

  The device further comprises a cushion 10, placed at one end 2 of said band 1, and attachment means 6 of the band 1 in the compression position.

  According to the invention, said device 1 comprises an absorbent dressing 7, capable of being directed towards the wound, and secured at said end 2 of said band 1. Advantageously, this dressing 7 also constitutes a housing for containing and maintain said cushion 10, as shown in Figure 2.

  The peculiarity of this device is that the foam cushion 10 as well as the absorbent dressing 7 form a compact assembly with the band 1 not requiring an adhesive for fixing the dressing 7 or the cushion 10.

  As illustrated in FIGS. 4 and 5, the dressing 7 has several layers, in particular an upper outer layer of a permeable nonwoven 71, a gauze compress layer 72, a cotton layer 73, a second layer of gauze compress 74 and a lower permeable holding outer layer 75.

  According to a particular embodiment of the invention, the dressing 7 is secured at said end 2 of said band 1 by stitching.

  Furthermore, according to an advantageous embodiment, the seam is made in the outer position 8 of the end of the strip 1 and in the internal position 9 of the central side of the strip 1, as illustrated in FIG.

  The advantage of the seam in the internal position 8 of the central side of the band 1 is to make the device more resistant to tension during compression, and therefore safer during use.

  The hemostatic device comprises hooking means 6 which are in the form of a locking system with hooks and loops cooperating with each other, in particular of the type known under the trademark Velcro.

  To achieve the closure, the elastic sections 3 and 5 of the band 1 have, externally, a looped coating to fix the hooks during attachment of the band in the compression position.

  With regard to the dimensions of the hemostatic system 1, and by way of example, it has a total deployed length between 123 cm and 127 cm and a width between 10 cm and 13 cm.

  The foam cushion 10 has a length between 10 m and 13 cm and a width of about 12 cm and the dressing 7 has a length of about 20 cm and a width of about 15 cm.

  Furthermore, according to a particular embodiment, the elastic sections 3 to 5 are made from a stretch fabric lengthwise and inextensible in width and the inextensible sections 4 are made from a thick nonwoven.

  The zones of the web 1 supporting the cushion 2 and the fastening means 6 are substantially also inextensible zones 25 alternating with the elastic zones.

  The presence of a non-elastic portion 4, over a portion of the length of the band 1 of the haemostatic device, avoids excessive tension and thus eliminates the tourniquet effect.

  In addition, the presence of inextensible sections 4 between the elastic sections 3, 5 gives the assembly a certain transverse rigidity that eliminates the diabolo deformation of the band during compression.

  The tourniquet effect can not therefore occur, provided that the band 1 has at least ten centimeters in width.

  The present invention also relates to an emergency hemostatic kit. The emergency kit comprises a device, as described above, and as illustrated in particular in Figure 2, a pair of gloves and / or a label installation.
