Abstract

The device has an applicator (80) received in the housing (41) and resting on base of the housing. A closing unit of the housing moves with respect to the body between open and closed positions for permitting and preventing access to the applicator, respectively. The closing unit has an end part (59) for pushing the applicator partially out of the housing, when the closing unit passes from the closed to the open position. Independent claims are also included for the following: (a) a packing and applying set having an applying device (b) a make-up process.

  The present invention relates to devices for applying a product, in particular a cosmetic product, comprising a body defining a housing and an applicator arranged to be received in the housing in the absence of use.

  US Patent 5,836,319 describes a compact which comprises a body and a drawer 5 movable relative to the body, intended to contain an applicator constituted by a puff.

  This drawer has at its bottom a mirror on which the applicator rests. Such a device has the particular disadvantage that the applicator is likely to leave powder on the mirror. In addition, the drawer can be completely separated from the body of the compact, which can hinder the use of the latter in certain circumstances.

  European patent application EP 1 277 418 discloses a packaging and distribution device comprising a sieve through which the product is removed. The applicator is housed, in one example, above the sieve and is thus stored in an airtight environment, which can prevent it from drying between two applications.

  British device 1,212,209 discloses a device comprising several compartments articulated with respect to each other, but which is not intended to accommodate an applicator.

  US Patent 6,540,083 describes a device which, like that which is the subject of the aforementioned British patent, does not have an applicator.

  US Patent 6,378,533 relates to a compact comprising a pivoting drawer in which is housed an applicator. A mirror is carried by a cover closing a housing containing the product.

  The invention aims to propose a new device which in particular is practical to use, compact, reliable in operation, and relatively simple and inexpensive to manufacture.

  According to one of its aspects, the invention thus relates to a device for applying a product, comprising: - a body defining a housing having a bottom, - an applicator arranged to be received in the housing and rest at least partially on the bottom thereof, a member for closing the housing, movable relative to the body between an open position allowing access to the applicator and a closed position preventing access to the applicator, this closure member comprising a part arranged to push the applicator at least partially out of the housing, when the closure member passes from the closed position to the open position. The applicator is pushed out of the housing by said part of the closing member, which moves in the housing when the closing member passes from the closed position to the open position.

  The invention as defined above facilitates the gripping of the applicator when the closure member is in the open position.

  According to another aspect of the invention, it relates to a device for applying a product, comprising: - a body defining a housing, - an applicator arranged to be received in the housing, - a movable mirror relative to the body, arranged to return to the housing, this mirror having a reflecting face directed on the side opposite to the applicator when the mirror has returned to the housing.

  Thus, the reflecting face of the mirror does not come into contact with the applicator and is therefore not liable to be soiled by the applicator.

  The mirror can be carried by a closing member of the housing containing the applicator.

  It is also possible to reduce the risk of product being sprayed onto the mirror because the latter can be retracted into a housing which is not intended to receive the product, unlike devices in which the mirror is fixed on a inner side of a compact closure cover, facing the product reserve.

  The closure member is advantageously articulated on the body, which makes it captive.

  The mirror can be fixed on the closing member, the reflecting face of the mirror being directed upwards when the device is in the position of use. The closure member may include a recess, for example having a cylindrical shape of revolution, in which the mirror is fixed.

  In an exemplary embodiment, the closure member has a side wall which is arranged so as to define a portion of the external surface of the device, when the closure member is in the closed position. This side wall extends only over only part of the circumference of the closure member, providing a passage that the applicator can at least partially cross when the closure member is moved from its open position to its closed position. .

  The part of the closure member which serves to push the applicator out of the housing when the closure member is moved from the closed position to the open position is for example constituted by one end of the abovementioned side wall, this end can be located for example substantially opposite, relative to a geometric axis around which the closure member can pivot, of a bearing surface for the user, allowing the latter to move the closing member from the closed position to the open position. This bearing surface can for example be defined by at least one recess of the side wall.

  The closure member advantageously comprises at least one relief arranged to snap onto the body when the closure member is in its closed position.

  This relief can for example be constituted by a boss of the side wall.

  In a particular embodiment, the closure member has an interior partition arranged to reduce the possibility of displacement of the applicator in the housing when the closure member is in the closed position. This internal partition may for example have a shape substantially matching that of a portion of the contour of the applicator when the closure member is in the closed position, in particular a shape substantially in an arc in a plane perpendicular to the axis. geometric rotation of the closure member.

  In a particular embodiment, the side wall of the closure member is connected to an upper wall, which can support the aforementioned mirror if necessary, this upper wall possibly extending generally perpendicular to the geometric axis of rotation of the 'closing member when the latter is articulated on the body of the device. The side wall and the top wall can be made in one piece by plastic molding, in particular with bosses intended to serve as a pivot for the closure member when the latter is hingedly attached to the body of the device. .

  The closure member may have no lower wall facing the upper wall, so that the applicator can rest on the bottom of the housing.

  The body of the application device may include, for example in the upper part, a relief allowing its assembly on a device for packaging a product, this being for example a cosmetic product, in particular a foundation or a make-up, to form a set of packaging and application.

  The application device can in particular be attached to a part of the packaging device 5 which defines the bottom of a housing containing the product, the latter being contained directly in the housing or being contained in a cup disposed in the housing.

  The application device may comprise, in addition to the relief intended for attachment to the packaging device, at least one anti-rotation relief intended to prevent rotation of the application device relative to the packaging device.

  The applicator can be constituted by a puff for example, which can include a foam, possibly flocked.

  The packaging device may include a closure cover 15 of a housing containing the product, this cover being able for example to be arranged for screwing or for pivoting by means of a hinge.

  The invention also relates to a packaging and application assembly comprising an application device as defined above and a packaging device to which the application device is fixed, in particular in a removable manner.

  The invention also relates to a make-up method comprising the steps consisting in selecting a conditioning device from a plurality of conditioning devices and in assembling it with an application device as defined above. The user can for example select a product having a particular color and associate with this product the application device, which can be reused later with another product.

  The invention will be better understood on reading the detailed description which follows, of nonlimiting examples thereof, and on examining the appended drawing, in which: - Figure 1 shows schematically, in perspective, an example of a packaging and application assembly produced in accordance with the invention, - Figure 2 shows, in schematic axial section, the whole of Figure - Figure 3 shows the whole of Figure 1 after removing the closing cover and opening the housing containing the applicator, FIG. 4 is an exploded view of all of FIGS. 1 to 3, - FIG. 5 represents the packaging device in isolation, - FIG. 6 represents the device in isolation application, - Figures 7 to 9 are schematic and partial sections along VII- VII of Figure 2, illustrating the kinematics of movement of the applicator during the passage of the closure member from the position fe rmée in the open position, and - Figures 10 and 11 are views similar to Figure 2, illustrating alternative embodiments.

  The packaging and application assembly 10 shown in FIGS. 1 to 4 comprises a packaging device 11 and an application device 12 which are assembled to one another, this assembly being able, for example, as it is the case in the example considered, to be removable.

  The conditioning device 11 is shown in isolation in FIG. 5 while the application device 12 is shown in FIG. 6.

  The packaging device 11 comprises a base 20, a cover 21 20 arranged to be screwed onto the base 20, and a screen 23 carried by a ring 24 which can move relative to the base 20 along an axis Y. This ring 24 defines with a wall 25 of the base 20 extending transversely to the axis Y, a housing 26 which may contain a product P to be applied, this housing 26 being closed above by the screen 23. The ring 24 can move downwards as and as the product is taken from the housing 26. A mobile screen device fairly similar to that shown in FIG. 5 is described in European patent application EP 1 277 418 A1 by the applicant, to which reference may be made for more details, if applicable.

  The base 20 comprises, in the lower part and at its periphery, an outer skirt 27 provided on a radially inner face with a groove 28 whose role will be explained below.

  The base 20 also includes an inner skirt 30, concentric with the outer skirt 27, which is connected above the transverse wall 25 and on the radially inner surface of which at least one boss 31 is produced, the role of which will also be explained below. In the example considered, the bosses 31 are four in number, being angularly distributed around the axis Y. The application device 12 comprises a body 40 defining a housing 41 5 intended to receive an applicator 80 and a member for closure 50 articulated on the body 40 about a geometric axis of rotation X which, in the example considered, is parallel to the axis Y of the packaging device 11, once the packaging devices 11 and application 12 completed.

  The body 40 has a lower wall 42 whose upper face 43 defines the bottom of the housing 41, the applicator 80 resting in the storage position by its lower face entirely on this face 43, in the example considered.

  The body 40 also includes an upper wall 44 which is parallel to the lower wall 42 and which is connected to the latter by a side wall 45 extending in the example illustrated around the axis Y over an angular sector slightly less than 15 180, as can be seen in particular in FIGS. 8 and 9.

  A tubular skirt 46 is connected below the upper wall 44. This skirt 46 is provided at its periphery with a bead 47 arranged to snap into the groove 28 of the packaging device 11, to hold the packaging devices 11 and d 'application 12 assembled.

  A second tubular skirt 48, concentric with the first 46 and disposed inside the latter, also connects below the upper wall 44. This skirt 48 is arranged to engage in the internal skirt 30 of the packaging device 11 and includes notches 49 into which the bosses 31 can engage, so that the application device 12 is prevented from rotating 25 relative to the packaging device 11.

  The upper 44 and lower 42 walls have recesses 51 and 52 of axis X, in which can engage respective bosses 53 and 54 carried by an axis 67 of the closing member 50, so as to ensure articulation of the closing member 50 relative to the body 40.

  The closure member 50 has an upper wall 56 which extends perpendicular to the axis X and to which the top of a side wall 57 is connected, which defines, when the closure member 50 is in the closed position as can see in Figure 1, a portion of the overall exterior surface 10.

  The upper 56 and lateral 57 walls are produced in the example considered in one piece by plastic molding, with the axis 67 and the bosses 53 and 54.

  The side wall 57 extends substantially in an arc as can be seen in Figures 8 and 9, with a first end portion 59 and a second end portion 61. The latter has a recess 62 and a recess 63 which allow the user to move the closure member between the closed and open positions.

  The second end portion 61 is terminated by a tongue 64 provided with a tooth 65 arranged to snap onto a corresponding relief 66 produced on the inner face of the side wall 45 of the body 40, when the closure member 50 is in the closed position, as can be seen on examining Figure 9.

  The upper wall 56 comprises a housing 69 which opens on its upper face and which receives a mirror 70 whose reflecting face 71 is directed upwards, that is to say on the side opposite to the applicator 80. The mirror 70 is positioned just under the upper wall 44 of the body 40, when the closing member 50 is in the closed position.

  The closing member 50 also comprises an internal partition 73 produced, in the example considered, in one piece with the upper wall 56.

  The internal partition 73 has a general shape in an arc of a circle, concentric with the side wall 57, being arranged to come to bear on the applicator 80 when the closing member 50 is in the closed position, as can be seen on the FIG. 7, so as to immobilize the applicator 80 in the housing 41.

  The closure member 50 is devoid of a bottom wall, so that the applicator 80 can rest directly on the bottom wall 42 of the body 40. A passage 76 is defined between the end portions 59 and 61 of the wall lateral 57.

  The assembly 10 can be used in the following manner.

  It is assumed that the closing member 50 is in the closed position, as illustrated in Figures 1 and 7 in particular.

  The user unscrews the cover 21, which frees access to the product P contained in the housing 26.

  It then pivots the closing member 50 towards its open position, by moving it according to arrow F in FIGS. 7 and 8. During the pivoting, the closing member 50 comes to bear by the edge of the second part of end 59 against the applicator 80 and the latter is pushed towards the opening of the housing according to arrow S, as seen in FIG. 9, the applicator 80 sliding on the bottom 43.

  When the closing member 50 reaches the open position, the applicator 80 projects slightly from the bottom wall 42, as can be seen in FIG. 3, which facilitates its gripping by the user. The reflecting face 71 of the mirror 70 is released and the user can use it to follow the application of the product P by means of the applicator 80.

  After use, the user can replace the applicator 80 in the housing 41 and close it by rotating the closing member 50 in the opposite direction to the arrow F. During storage, the reflecting face 71 of the mirror 70 is isolated from the applicator 80 by the upper wall 56 and is therefore not likely to get dirty.

  In addition, the applicator 80 is stored in the example illustrated in a non-sealed manner in the housing 41, the closing of the latter not being hermetic. Thus, the applicator 80 can dry if it has inadvertently received a spray of liquid during makeup. This reduces the risk of bacterial growth.

  Of course, the invention is not limited to the example which has just been described.

  The packaging device 11 and / or the application device 12 can for example be produced otherwise.

  In the example of FIG. 10, the packaging device has been produced with a cover 21 which is connected to the base 20 by an articulation 90, this articulation 25 being constituted for example by a film hinge.

  In the example of FIG. 11, the product P is contained in a cup 91 and the access to the product is made without the intermediary of a sieve.

  Throughout the description, including the claims, the expression "comprising a" should be understood as being synonymous with "comprising at least one", unless otherwise specified.

Claims (20)

  1. Device (12) for applying a product, comprising: - a body (40) defining a housing (41) having a bottom (43), - an applicator (80), arranged to be received in the housing (41) and rest at least partially on the bottom thereof, and - a member (50) for closing the housing, movable relative to the body (40) between an open position allowing access to the applicator and a closed position preventing access to the applicator, this closure member comprising a portion (59) arranged to push the applicator at least partially out of the housing, when the closure member moves from the closed position to the open position .   2. Device according to claim 1, characterized in that it comprises a mirror (70) movable relative to the body (40), arranged to enter the housing (41), this mirror having a reflective face (71) directed on the side opposite the applicator when the mirror has returned to the housing.   3. Device according to claim 1, characterized in that the closing member (50) is articulated on the body.   4. Device according to the preceding claim, characterized in that the mirror (70) is fixed to the closure member (50).   5. Device according to claim 1, characterized in that the closure member comprises a side wall (51) which is arranged so as to define a portion of the external surface of the device (12), when the closure member is in the closed position.   6. Device according to claim 5, characterized in that the part (59) of the closure member which serves to push the applicator (80) out of the housing when the closure member is moved from the closed position in the open position is formed by one end of the side wall (57).   7. Device according to the preceding claim, characterized in that the end is located opposite, relative to a geometric axis (X) around which the closure member can pivot, of a bearing surface for the user, allowing the latter to move the closure member (50) from the closed position to the open position.   8. Device according to claim 1, characterized in that the closure member comprises at least one relief (65) arranged to snap onto the body when the closure member is in its closed position.   9. Device according to claim 1, characterized in that the closure member comprises an internal partition (73) arranged to reduce the possibility of displacement of the applicator in the housing when the closure member is in the closed position .   10. Device according to claim 9, characterized in that the internal partition (73) has a shape substantially matching that of a portion of the contour of the applicator when the closure member is in the closed position, in particular a shape substantially in an arc in a plane perpendicular to the geometric axis (X) of rotation of the closure member.   11. Device according to claim 5, characterized in that the side wall is connected to an upper wall (56), which supports a mirror (70), this upper wall (56) extending generally perpendicular to a geometric axis. (X) rotation of the closure member when the latter is articulated on the body of the device.   12. Device according to claim 11, characterized in that the side wall (57) and the upper wall (56) are made in one piece by molding plastic material, in particular with bosses (53, 54) intended to serve as a pivot for the closure member (50) when the latter is hingedly attached to the body of the device.   13. Device according to claim 11, characterized in that the closure member does not have a bottom wall facing the top wall, so that the applicator (80) can rest on the bottom (43) housing.   14. Device according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the body (40) of the application device comprises, in particular in the upper part, a relief (47) allowing its assembly on a device (11) for packaging of a product.   15. Device according to claim 14, characterized in that it is fixed on a part (20) of the packaging device (11) which defines the bottom of a housing (26) containing the product. 11 ::   16. Device according to claim 14, characterized in that it comprises, in addition to the relief intended for attachment to the packaging device, at least one anti-rotation relief intended to prevent rotation of the application device relative to the packaging device.   17. Device according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the applicator (80) consists of a puff.   18. Device according to claim 14, characterized in that the packaging device (11) comprises a cover for closing a housing containing the product.   19. Packaging and application assembly (10) comprising an application device (12) as defined in any one of the preceding claims and a packaging device (11) on which the application device is fixed, especially removably.   20. Make-up method comprising the steps of selecting a packaging device (11) from a plurality of packaging devices and assembling it with an application device (12) as defined in any one of claims 1 to 18.
