Abstract
Description
II
The present invention relates to a device which can be used in particular in surgery to allow the flow of a liquid to a reception cone by passage of this liquid through an orifice produced in the wall of a guide tube.
The flow of this liquid is currently carried out directly from a syringe connected to a cannula, the latter being able to be independent or secured to the cone for receiving the liquid. These "open" flow methods do not avoid the risk of liquid splashing out of the cone, knowing that this liquid is alcoholic and that the receiving cone rests on a sensitive surface (cornea of one eye) and limited to a certain diameter.
The device according to the invention overcomes this drawback by providing a "closed" system for delivering this liquid, the alcoholic liquid having to be deposited only on the surface of the reception cone and above all not outside of it. . The device according to the invention in fact comprises, according to a first characteristic, two tubes inserted one into the other. The first tube (A) has an internal position with respect to the second tube (B). It has at its 1/3 average a perforated surface with an orifice. The second tube (B), flared in a tank at one of its ends 20 (upper), acts as a container with respect to the first tube. This flared part of the tube (B) is filled with liquid. The external faces of tube A and internal of tube B are in close contact with each other. The displacement of one tube relative to the other allows the orifice of tube A to be brought into direct contact with the flared part of tube B which contains the liquid. This bringing into contact causes the liquid contained in the flared part of the tube B to pass directly into the tube A. The liquid will then flow along the internal face of the tube A to the receiving cone by passage of the liquid through the orifice of the tube A, this flow being able to be interrupted at any time by doing the reverse movement movement of the tube (A), the internal face of the tube (B) then obstructing the orifice located on the tube (A) According to particular embodiments: - the lower end of the tube B can be the reception cone.
). - The upper end of tube A can be open, or closed permanently or alternately, flared (occluding the end of tube B) or not. - the lower end of tube A can be a circular blade (drill bit) - the lateral orifice of tube A can have a variable shape (for example circular, oval, triangular, rectangular, ...).
). - the design of the lateral opening of the tube A can allow a variable flow rate of the liquid (for example triangular with lower base, lozenge ...). - the size of the lateral orifice of the tube A can be variable micrometric, millimeter, ...).
- The number of orifices made on the lateral face of the tube A can be variable, single or multiple.
- The external face of the lateral orifice of the tube A can be bevelled to facilitate the passage of the liquid through it.
- the location of the lateral orifice of tube A can be located on a variable height of tube A (on the same circumferential or spiral stage), and can be located at any height of tube A. - displacement of the two tubes A and B between them can be done for example by simple sliding, or by any screwing process, or by any other means.
- the height of the entire device can be variable.
- the diameter of each of the tubes can be variable.
- the flared part of tube B can be located between the two ends of tube B and take a rounded or oval shape.
- a handle can be connected to tube B. The attached drawings illustrate the invention: FIG. 1 represents the device of the invention including FIG. representing it the tube (A) and FIG. lb representing the tube (B). FIG. 2 represents a variant of the device of the invention.
FIG. 3 represents in section the device of the invention according to a method of screwing between the tubes A and B, including FIG. 3a showing a section through the entire device and Fig.3b showing a horizontal section passing through the screw ring (7).
With reference to these drawings, the device comprises two sliding tubes 10 one inside the other: an internal tube (A) situated in an external tube (B). The tube A has at its middle third (1) a surface pierced with an orifice (2). The external face (3) of the tube A is tightly applied to the internal face (4) of the tube B. The tube B is flared at its upper part like a reservoir (5) which will be filled with liquid. The tube A can also be flared at its upper part (13) occluding the flared upper end (5) of the tube B. The reservoir (5) may have at its upper edge a small rim (9) inclined inwards of the tube (B) to avoid any overflow of liquid. A handle (12) can be connected to the tube (B). The position of the orifice (2) in the tube A is such that when the user slides up the tube A in the tube B, he puts this orifice (2) in direct contact with the flared part (5) from tube B, causing the liquid to flow from the flared part (5) of tube B towards the internal face (6) of tube A, up to the lower end of tube B (11). Conversely, the flow of liquid in the tube A can be stopped at will simply by sliding the tube A downwards in the tube B, the internal face (4) of the tube B then obstructing the orifice (2) of the tube A. By way of nonlimiting example, the diameter of the internal tube A will be 8 mm and its height 2 cm.
The device according to the invention is particularly intended to allow the protected flow in a closed system, of alcoholic liquid from a reservoir towards the inside of a tube, to be deposited in a reception cone resting on an ocular surface (cornea), surface strictly limited to that of the receiving cone.
