Abstract

The building door lock has a housing with a cross bar, a sleeve and a handle (34) attached to the cross bar. The housing is enclosed in a casing (32) with a fixing (92) positioned in the casing under the handle to be masked by the latter when the lock is mounted on the door. The fixing can be a retaining screw.

  The present invention relates to an applied lock, of the type comprising: - a chest having a first face to be oriented opposite the opening and a second face opposite to the first face and desti5 to be oriented towards the opening, - a mechanism for moving at least one bolt, the mechanism being disposed in the trunk and comprising a follower opening at least in the first side of the trunk, - a driving rod of the follower, - a crutch of maneuver comprising a base for connection to the drive rod and a handle extending laterally on the base, - a box for covering the box, the box comprising at least a first covering wall of the first side of the box, and - means for fixing the housing on the trunk.

  The invention applies in particular to locks to be placed on doors of doors.

  Locks of the aforementioned type are known in which the means for fastening the housing to the box include screws provided at various locations of the first wall of the housing, in particular above the maneuvering stand.

  Such fastening means are particularly visible and detract from the aesthetic appearance of the lock.

  An object of the invention is to solve this problem by providing a lock of the aforementioned type which is aesthetically improved.

  For this purpose, the invention relates to a lock of the aforementioned type, characterized in that the fastening means comprise at least one fixing member intended to be arranged in the first wall of the housing under the lower region of the base plate. the stand to be substantially hidden by the stand when the lock is mounted on the door.

  According to particular embodiments, the lock may comprise one or more of the following characteristics, taken in isolation or in any technically possible combination - the fastener is a screw, - the fastener passes through the first wall to cooperate with an element on the boot, - the insert is a retaining element of the drive rod of the follower, the insert comprises a region projecting towards the first wall of the casing housing, the fastener cooperating with said projecting region. The invention further relates to an assembly comprising an opening and a lock placed in applied on the door, characterized in that the lock 10 is a lock as defined above, and the fixing member is disposed in the first housing wall under the lower region of the base of the stand to be substantially obscured by the stand.

  The invention will be better understood on reading the description which follows, given solely by way of example, and with reference to the appended drawings, in which: FIG. 1 is a diagrammatic front view of a door equipped with a lock according to the invention, - Figure 2 is a schematic, partial, enlarged and exploded view of the lock of Figure 1, - Figure 3 is an enlarged schematic view, partial and in section taken according to the FIG. 4 is a fragmentary diagrammatic and enlarged view of the circled portion IV of FIG. 1; FIG. 5 is an enlarged diagrammatic perspective view of the bolt guide device; FIG. the top of the lock of Figure 1, and - Figure 6 is a schematic bottom view of a stand of a variant of the lock of Figure 1.

  FIG. 1 illustrates an assembly 1 which comprises a door 2, a lock 3 and a striker 4.

  In a conventional manner, the door 2 comprises a fixed frame 6 and a wing 7 hinged to an upright 8 of the frame 6 by hinges 9.

  The lock 3 is a multi-point lock posed on the flap 7 and comprising two vertical dead bolts 10, a horizontal dead bolt 12 and a latch bolt 14. It will be noted that the vertical bolt 10 is not visible on the figure 1.

  The striker 4 is also applied to the frame 6 and comprises a vertical element 16, which extends substantially over the entire height of the upright 18 of the frame 6 opposite the upright 8, and an upper element 20 which extends laterally. central element 16 to the amount 8, that is to say to the left in Figure 1.

  As illustrated by FIGS. 1 and 2, the lock 3 essentially comprises: - a box 22, - a mechanism for moving the bolts 10, 12 and 14, which mechanism is arranged in the box 22 and comprises a rotary nut 24 in which a hole 26 square is provided, - a rod 28 for rotating the follower 26 to move the latch bolt 14, - a member 30 for retaining the rod 28 along the axis A of the hole 26, - a casing 32 for covering the lock 3, and - a stand 34 for actuating the rod 28 to move the latch bolt 14.

  The trunk 22 is a metal trunk which has a first large face 36 opposite to the wing 7 and a second large face 38 facing the wing 7. The trunk 22 is fixed in a conventional manner to the wing 7 for example by means of screws 39, and the second face 38 bears against the flap 7.

  The follower 24 opens into the first face 36 and the second face 38 of the trunk 22.

  The mechanism also comprises a cylinder 40 for receiving a key, for example a European-type cylinder. The cylinder 40 opens into the first face 36 of the box 22.

  The mechanism further comprises two upper outer outlets 42 and 44 and two lower outer outlets 42 and 44.

  The outlets 42 comprise threaded sleeves in which the ends of threaded rods 46 connected to the bolts 10 are screwed. Only the upper rod 46 is visible in FIGS. 1 and 2.

  In the example shown, the outputs 44 are not used. However, they are present for example in the case where the lock 3 comprises additional horizontal deadbolts, for example provided in auxiliary boxes located between the chest 22 described and the vertical deadbolts 10. Three threaded holes 48 are formed in the first face 36 of the chest 22 around the follower 24.

  Similarly, a threaded orifice 50 is formed in the lower face 52 of the box 22.

  The drive rod 28 has a square running section corresponding to the section of the hole 26 of the follower 24.

  The rod 28 comprises a first end section 54 connecting to the stand 34, an intermediate section surrounded by a circular flange 56 extended by projections 58, and a second end section 60 engaged in the hole 26 of the follower 24 .

  The second section 60 is significantly shorter than the first section 54.

  The second portion 60 is completely housed in the follower 24 and does not project out of the trunk 22 on the side of its second large face 38.

  The two projections 58 are substantially shaped disk sectors. The projections 58 and the flange 56 bear axially against the first face 36 from the outside of the box 22. In a variant, the projections 58 can bear on the follower 24.

  The first section 54 of the rod 28 is provided for example with an orifice 62. This orifice 62 is provided on the left face of the first section 54, that is to say the face 64 opposite the bolts. and 14 and therefore the amount 18 of the frame 6.

  The retaining element 30 is a metal plate of substantially triangular shape. It has a substantially circular central bulge 66. This bulge 66 protrudes in the direction away from the leaf 7.

  A central orifice 68 for passage of the first section 54 of the rod 28 is formed in the bulge 66. A threaded orifice 70 is formed under the central orifice 68 in the bulge 66, at a short distance from the orifice 68.

  Three through orifices 72 are formed at the corners of the plate 30 to be placed opposite the threaded orifices 48 of the box 22.

  Screws 74 each pass through an orifice 72 and are screwed into the orifices 48 thus fixing the plate 30 against the first face 36 of the box 22. The projections 58 and the flange 56 of the rod 28 are then clamped between the first face 36 and the plate 30 and bear in a first axial direction against the first face 36 and in a second axial direction against the retaining plate 30.

  The rod 28 is thus locked axially with respect to the follower 24 and the trunk 22 in two opposite directions. It will be noted that the flange 56 and the projections 58 are then housed in the bulge 66.

  The housing 32 comprises a central element 76 and two lower and upper elements 78. The lower element 78 is visible in FIG. 1 and the upper element 78 in FIG.

  The central element 76 comprises a large substantially rectangular wall 80 covering the first face 36 of the box 22. This wall 80 is bordered by a skirt 82 extending towards the flap 7 to mask the edge of the box 22.

  The upper and lower elements 78 have symmetrical shapes with respect to a median horizontal plane. These are profiled pieces of substantially U-shaped cross-section so as to each cover a bolt 10, the rod 46 and the corresponding outlets 42 and 44, as can be seen for the lower member 78 in FIG. in this figure that the upper element 78 has been omitted.

  A cylinder cover 86 is provided in the wall 80 of the housing 32 to cover the cylinder 40.

  An orifice 88 for passage of the first section 54 of the rod 28 is formed in the wall 80 above the protector-cylinder 86.

  A through hole 90, of much smaller dimensions, is provided in the wall below the orifice 88 at a very short distance therefrom.

  A screw 92 passes through this orifice 90 and is screwed into the threaded orifice 70 of the retaining plate 30.

  An orifice 93 is formed in the lower wall of the skirt 82. A screw 94 passes through this orifice 93 and is screwed into the threaded orifice 50 of the box 22.

  Two clearances 96 are formed one in the upper wall of the skirt 82 and the other in the lower wall of the skirt 82 to each receive an element 78 of the housing 32.

  With the screws 92 and 94, the central element 76 of the housing 32 is fixed on the trunk 22. The cylinder 40 is then accessible from the outside of the protector cylinder 86 by a key and the first section 54 of the rod 28 drive follower 24 protrudes through the orifice 88 out of the central element 76 of the housing 32.

  The clearances 96 of the central element 76 of the housing 32 pass through the corresponding outlets 42 and 44 of the mechanism of the lock 3.

  The stand 34 comprises a base 100 of connection to the drive rod 28.

  This base 100 is extended laterally opposite the upright 18 of the frame 6, that is to say to the left in FIGS. 1 and 2, by a handle 102.

  The base 100 conventionally has a square hole 103 for receiving the first section 54 of the rod 28.

  A through orifice 104 is formed in the base 100 to allow a screw 106 to pass therethrough to engage in the orifice 62 of the first section of the rod 28 and thus fix the stand 34 on the rod 28.

  As illustrated by FIGS. 2 and 3, the orifice 104 is formed in the lateral region 108 of the base disposed on the same side as the handle 102, that is to say the left lateral region in FIG. .

  Thus, this orifice 104 and the screw 106 are arranged behind the handle 102 as seen in FIGS. 1 to 3.

  The following description will relate more particularly to the vertical bolts 10. The structure of the lock 3 with respect to these bolts 10 and their connection to the mechanism contained in the trunk 22 is substantially symmetrical with respect to a median horizontal plane. Only the structure and the environment of the upper bolt 10 will therefore be described later with reference to FIG.

  The bolt 10, shown in phantom in Figure 5, is an elongated block in a longitudinal direction D vertical.

  As illustrated in Figure 5, it has a circular cross section truncated by a flat surface 108 disposed opposite the flapper 7 and parallel to the latter.

  The bolt 10 is received in a guiding device 110 made of a single folded sheet.

  The device 110 comprises a vertical mounting plate 112 provided with holes 114 for the passage of screws to enable the device 110 to be fixed on the leaf 7.

  Two horizontal guide plates 116 are folded from the platen 112 away from the leaf 7. These two plates 116 are spaced from each other along the direction D so that a first plate 116, or upper plate, is close to the upper edge 118 of the wing 7.

  An aperture 120 of shape corresponding to the cross section of the bolt 10 is formed in each plate 116.

  The bolt 10 is received in these two openings 120 so that the plates 116 vertically guide it slidably along the direction D between a locked position, in which it is engaged in the upper element (FIG. 1) of the latch. 4, and an unlocked position in which the bolt 10 is disengaged from the upper member 20 of the striker 4. Note that for the lower bolt 10, the function of the striker member 4 is filled by the ground wherein a receiving housing of the bolt 10 has been formed.

  The complementary shape of the openings 120 and the bolt 10 locks the bolt 10 in rotation about the longitudinal direction D. The plate 112 is laterally bordered by two wings 122 folded away from the flap 7 and in which receiving orifices 124 screws fixing the upper end of the upper member 78 of the housing 32 are formed. Thus, the upper member 78 can be fixed at its upper end to the guide device 110 and at its lower end to the central element 76 of the housing 32 in which this lower end is nested.

  The wings 122 are extended upwardly by lugs 126 which protrude above the upper guide plate 116. These two tabs 126 are flush with the upper edge 118 of the wing 7.

  The upper end of the upper threaded rod 46 is screwed into the lower end of the bolt 10 so that the mechanism contained in the box 22, can, under the action of a key engaged in the cylinder 40, cause the passage of the bolt 10 from its unlocked position to its locked position and vice versa. Each guiding device 110 provides satisfactory guidance of the corresponding bolt 10 and blocks it in rotation about its sliding direction D, so that the adjustment of the length of the rod 46 between the bolt 10 and the corresponding outlet 42 of the mechanism can be modified during operation of the lock 3.

  In addition, guiding devices 110 made in one piece are inexpensive and their installation is particularly simple and fast.

  In addition, one and the same covering element 78 makes it possible to mask each guiding device 110 and the corresponding rod 46, the fixing of this cladding element 78 being effected directly on the guiding device 10.

  For placing the upper guiding device 110, it is possible for example to proceed as follows.

  After having screwed the upper rod 46 into the upper bolt, this bolt 10 is engaged in the openings 120 of the guiding device 110 and the upper lugs 126 are placed flush with the upper edge 118 of the leaf 7.

  Then, the device 110 is fixed on the leaf 7, through the orifices 114 provided on the plate 1 12 through which screws are passed.

  Finally, the rod 46, the bolt 10 and the guiding device 1 10 25 of the upper cladding element 78 are covered and fixed to the guide device 110 by means of screws received in the orifices 124 of the lateral wings 122. of the device 110. Note that the tabs 126 form positioning elements of the guiding device 110 ensuring that the distance separating the upper guide plate 116 from the edge 118 will ensure proper operation of the lock 3.

  It is possible to proceed in a similar manner to install the lower guide device 110.

  Note that in variants, the guide members 116 and the positioning elements 126 may have different shapes from those described above.

  In addition, the number and position of the positioning elements 126 may be different from those described.

  In the example described with reference to FIGS. 1 to 5, the lock 3 comprises a single stand 34.

  However, the lock 3 can be modified very simply to be able to be equipped simultaneously with two crutches 34.

  For this, simply remove the central element 76 of the housing 32, by unscrewing the screws 92 and 94.

  Then, the retaining plate 30 is disassembled by unscrewing the screws 74 which makes it possible to remove the rod 28 which is simply inserted into the hole 26 of the follower 24.

  This rod 28 can then be replaced by a rod 28 whose second section 60 is of greater length than that of the rod 28 shown. Thus, this longer portion 60 can project out of the trunk 22 on the side of its second face 38 and through the flap 7 to be connected to a second stand 34 not shown.

  After having inserted the second section 60 of this new rod 28 into the follower 24, the retaining plate 30 and the central element 76 of the casing 32 and then the stand 34 located on the side of the casing 32 are again fixed.

  The second stand can then be connected to the section 60 of the drive rod 28.

  This change of rod 28 can be done simply and quickly.

  Indeed, the flange 56, the projections 58, the retaining plate 30 and the screws 74 form releasable means 128 for axially locking the rod 28 which, since they are accessible from the outside of the box 22, can be released. 30 without requiring its opening.

  Note that to allow the configuration changes described above, sets comprising two rods 28 corresponding to each of one of the configurations can be marketed.

  It will also be observed that in certain variants, the retaining element 30 may have a shape different from that described above and the projections 56 and 58 may have different shapes from those described previously.

  In addition, it should be noted that the releasable means 128 for axially locking the follower 28 may be used independently of the guiding devices mentioned above.

  Due to the positions of the port 104 and the screw 106 for fixing the stand 34 to the drive rod 28 of the follower 24, the screw 106 is masked at least in part by the base 100 and the handle 102 at the eyes of a person standing in front of the wing 7, which significantly improves the aesthetic appearance of the lock 3.

  In addition, the stand 34 described with reference to FIGS. 1 to 5 may be used in a lefthand lock 3, as described in these figures, but also in a righthand lock. Thus, the unit production cost of such a stand 34 can be reduced.

  Figure 6 illustrates a variant in which the orifice 104 and therefore the screw 106 are arranged in the lower region 130 of the base 100. The screw 106 can be completely masked by the base 100 in the eyes of a person.

  However, such a positioning has the disadvantage of requiring crutches 34 specific for locks 3 left hand and right hand.

  It should be noted that this principle can be applied to other types of locks than surface-mounted locks, for example mortise locks. This principle can also be used independently of the aspects presented above on the guiding devices 110 and the releasable locking means 128.

  It will also be observed that the particular position of the fixing screw 92 of the housing 32 under the stand 34 and in particular under its base 100 also makes it possible to improve the aesthetic appearance of the lock 3. Indeed, this screw 92 is substantially obscured by the crutch 34 in the eyes of a person standing in front of the wing 7.

  Similarly, the screw 94 is hidden by the central element 76 of the chest in the eyes of a person. he

  This fourth aspect can also be used independently of the other aspects mentioned above.

  In particular, the screw 92 can be screwed into an element other than a retaining element 30 allowing a change of rod 28 for driving the follower 24.

  Finally, it will be observed that the principles described above can be applied to locks equipping doors other than door leaves.

  1. Lock (3) to be applied on an opening (7), of the type comprising: - a box (22) having a first face (36) intended to be oriented opposite the opening (7) and a second face (38) opposite to the first face and intended to be oriented towards the opening (7), - a mechanism for moving at least one bolt (10, 12, 14), the mechanism being arranged in the trunk and comprising a follower (24) opening at least in the first face of the trunk (22), 10 - a rod (28) for driving the follower, - a maneuvering leg (34) comprising a base (100) of connection at the drive rod (28) and a handle (102) extending laterally the base, - a casing box (32), the casing (32) comprising at least a first cover wall (80) the first face (36) of the trunk (22), and - means (92, 94) for fixing the housing to the trunk, characterized in that the fixing means comprise at least one fixing member (92) intended to be arranged in the first wall (80) of the housing under the lower region (130) of the base (100) of the stand to be substantially obscured by the stand (34) when the lock (3) is mounted on the opening (7).   2. Lock according to claim 1, characterized in that the fastener is a screw (92).   3. Lock according to claim 1 or 2, characterized in that the fastener passes through the first wall to cooperate with a member (30) attached to the trunk (22).   4. Lock according to claim 3, characterized in that the insert is a member (30) for retaining the rod (28) driving the follower. 30 5. Lock according to claim 3 or 4, characterized in that the insert (30) comprises a region (66) projecting towards the first wall (80) of the casing (32) dressing, the fixing member (92) cooperating with said projecting region (66).   6. An assembly comprising an opening (7) and a lock (3) applied to the opening (7), characterized in that the lock is a lock according to one of the preceding claims, and in that the member fastening is disposed in the first wall (80) of the housing (32) under the lower region (130) of the base (100) of the stand to be substantially obscured by the stand.
