Abstract

The motor vehicle windscreen wiper has an arm (2) mounted on drive for pivoting action. The arm has a releasable fixing at its front end to an extension rod (10) having a fixed connection to the wiper blade (20). The releasable fixing can have a female connector at the end of arm and having a movement stop.

  WINDSCREEN WIPER ARM AND ASSOCIATED WIPING PIECE

  The present invention relates to a wiper blade arm and

an associated wiping piece.

  It relates more specifically to a wiper blade arm intended to be mounted on a coach for its drive in wiping pivoting and comprising at least one attachment point for a wiping blade. The wiper blade, generally made of elastomer, must be replaced regularly in order to wipe the glass

reliable and secure.

  Currently two types of replacement for this blade are used.

  In some wiper systems, only the blade in question is changed. To do this, the blade comprises a reinforcement piece called the vertebra and the arm comprises a certain number of removable fixing points o this blade is fitted by sliding and the blade comprises

  a front stop ensuring its positioning and locking.

  In this case, the initial wiping quality performance is however lost after a certain time due to the wear of the arm in

  self and fixing the blade is relatively complex and long.

  In other wiper systems, the entire blade, part of the arm forming the frame and blade, is replaced regularly. If this type has the advantage of solving the problems of frame wear and complexity

  fixing, it is however particularly expensive.

  The invention proposes a compromise between these two types of replacement, while ensuring good mechanical operation of the brush, avoiding any play and any vibration, and good wiping quality. In addition, the handling of the spare part by the user is very easy thanks to the invention. To do this, the invention relates to a wiper blade arm intended to be mounted on a coach for its drive in wiping pivoting, characterized in that it comprises at its front end a removable fixing arrangement intended for an arm extension bar comprising at least one irremovable attachment point before a

wiping blade.

  According to a preferred embodiment, said removable fixing arrangement consists of a female interlocking element at said end of the

  arm and provided with a translational locking arrangement.

  The invention also relates to a wiper blade wiping piece intended to be removably mounted on an arm as previously specified, comprising said blade, characterized in that it comprises said strip provided with a fixing arrangement removable complementary to its rear end and a wiping blade supported by said bar by means of at least one immovable fixing point. The wiping piece may comprise: - an articulated front spreader supporting two irremovable fixing points or - a rear arm secured to said bar and supporting a rear fixing point and a central spreader carrying two fixing points or - a first fixing point non-removable fixing near the front end of said bar with a second non-removable fixing point supported by a rear extension

of said bar.

  According to particular embodiments, it comprises a

  articulation near said complementary fixing arrangement.

  According to a preferred embodiment, said complementary removable fixing arrangement consists of an interlocking pin with

translation lock.

  Preferably, the wiping blade comprises a vertebra of

metallic reinforcement.

  The invention is described below in more detail with the aid of figures

  representing only preferred embodiments of the invention.

  Figures 1 to 4 are side views of a wiper blade

  according to the invention according to four embodiments.

  FIG. 1 represents a first embodiment of a broom

wiper.

  A trainer 1 is pivotally wiped by a non-visible motorized drive shaft and to this trainer 1 is pivotally connected an arm 2A. In all of this text, the end of the arm linked to the driver 1 is considered as the rear end and the end of the arm opposite the previous one as the front end. Near its rear end, the arm 2A supports a rear lifter 3A carrying two fixing points

  removable 4A, 5A for a wiping blade 20.

  According to the invention, the arm 2A comprises at its front end a removable fixing arrangement intended for an arm extension bar 10A. Represented in detail in FIG. 5, this fixing arrangement consists of a female interlocking element at the end of the arm 2A in which a tenon 11 A is fitted, disposed at the rear end of the bar 1 0A provided with a snap-in device 1 4A spring type coming

  snap into an internal cavity of this female element.

  Advantageously, this female element is formed by a hollow profiled part of the arm per se. Near this rear end, the bar 10A has a pivoting articulation 12A thanks to which the bar 10A supports a front lifting beam 1 3A supporting two fixing points

  non-removable 1 4A, 1 5A of the blade 20.

  The wiping piece intended to be changed once worn is here constituted of the bar 10A, the front spreader 13A and the blade 20. It is in this sense that the fixing points 14A and 15A are said to be irremovable in this text , that is to say not intended to be disassembled by the user or other person, once the wiper is mounted on the motor vehicle or equivalent. On the other hand, the rear fixing points 4A, 5A are said to be removable because the blade 20 is intended to be easily assembled and disassembled there.

  FIG. 6 represents an alternative embodiment of this same embodiment. The fixing arrangement consists of a female interlocking element at the end of the arm 2A in which a stud 11 A is fitted, disposed at the rear end of the bar 10A 'provided with a latching device 14A of the type spring snapping into an internal cavity of the arm. Near its front end, the bar 10A ', here relatively short, has a pivoting articulation 12A' thanks to which the bar 10A 'supports a front lifting beam 1 3A' supporting two points of

blade attachment 20.

  This first embodiment at four pressure points of the

  blade 20 on the glass is suitable for standard wiping blades.

  FIG. 2 represents a second embodiment of a broom

wiper.

  A driver 1 is pivotally wiped by a non-visible motorized drive shaft and to this driver 1 is pivotally connected an arm 2B by its rear end. Near its front end, the arm 2B supports two arms, the first forming an arm extension bar 10 B carrying a front fixing point 11 B and rear intermediate arm 3B carrying a rear fixing point 4B and pivotally articulated on the arm 2B and the second central lifter 5B flexible articulated in pivoting on the preceding arm 1 0B, 3B and carrying two points

  removable fixing 6B, 7B for a wiping blade 20.

  According to the invention, the arm 2B comprises at its front end a removable fixing arrangement intended for the arm extension bar 1OB. This arrangement is preferably of the same type as that of the first embodiment described above and preferably is similar to the arrangement shown in FIG. 6. Near its front end,

  the bar 1 OB has a non-removable fixing point 1 l B of the blade 20.

  The wiping part intended to be changed once worn is here constituted of the bar 10B with its part 3B and carrying the lifter 5B

as well as the blade 20.

  FIG. 3 represents a third embodiment of a broom

wiper.

  A driver 1 is driven in a wiping pivot by a motorized drive shaft that is not visible and to this driver 1 is connected to

pivoting an arm 2C.

  According to the invention, the arm 2C has at its front end a removable fixing arrangement intended for an arm extension bar 10C. This arrangement is preferably of the same type as that of the first embodiment described above. Near this rear end, the bar 1 OC has a rear intermediate arm 11 C carrying at its end a non-removable fixing point 14C and near its front end the bar 10C supports a front lifting beam 12C supporting

  two non-removable fixing points 13C, 14C of the blade 20.

  The wiping part intended to be changed once worn is here constituted by the bar 10C, the intermediate arm 11 C, the front spreader

12C and blade 20.

  FIG. 4 represents a fourth embodiment of a broom

wiper.

  A driver 1 is pivotally wiped by a non-visible motorized drive shaft and to this driver 1 is pivotally connected a 2D arm. Near its rear end, the 2D arm supports a 3D rear intermediate arm carrying a fixing point

  removable 4D for a wiping blade 20.

  According to the invention, the 2D arm has at its front end a removable fixing arrangement intended for an arm extension bar 10D. Represented in detail in FIG. 7, this fixing arrangement consists of a female interlocking element at the end of the 2D arm in which a tenon 11 D is fitted, disposed at the rear end of the bar 1 OD provided with a snap-in device 14D of the spring type which snaps into an internal cavity of the arm. The bar 1 OD is here relatively short and close to its front end, it has a pivoting articulation 12D thanks to which the bar 1OD supports a front spreader 13D supporting two attachment points 14D, 15D of the blade 20. Advantageously, the point 14D front end mounting can be

a simple slide.

  consisting of the 1 OD bar, the front spreader 13D and the blade 20.

  This fourth embodiment with two points of direct pressure of the blade 20 on the glass, the slide 14D creating an additional fulcrum thanks to the aerodynamic pressure, is suitable for blades

  type of wiping called "flat blade" with load distribution vertebra.

  In all of the above, the dimensions of the various elements, namely arms, bar, spreaders, can be chosen and adapted to

  allow the desired aerodynamic support of the wiper blade on the window.

  Figures 8 to 9 show an embodiment of the points of

  non-removable fixing cooperating with a wiper blade with vertebra.

  The blade 20A here consists of a blade of extruded elastomer material comprising a wiping lip 21 A and a head 22A in which is housed on each side a metal vertebra 23A of section

substantially rectangular.

  Such a blade 20A is inserted into a fixing flange 30A forming an irremovable fixing point, by elastic deformation. The protrusions of the vertebrae 23A fit into corresponding grooves arranged in the flange 30A. In order to achieve the locking in longitudinal translation, the vertebrae 23A each have a notch

  lateral 24A to the right of the fixings in which the flange 30A is fitted.

  Figures 11 to 13 show three other alternative embodiments of such non-removable fixing points and wiper blades according to the invention. The blade 20B, 20C, 20D consists of a blade of extruded elastomer material comprising a wiping lip 21 B, 21 C, 21 D and a head 22B, 22C, 22D engaged in a vertebra made of extruded thermoplastic material 23B, 23C , 23D. According to the invention, in order to strengthen the blade and allow mounting with a limited number of fixing points, the blade is also reinforced by an additional vertebra 24B, 24C, 24 D

  metal of substantially rectangular section.

  According to the embodiment shown in Figure 11, this

  second vertebra 24B is housed in the blade head 22B.

  According to the embodiment shown in Figure 12, this

  second vertebra 24C is housed in the first vertebra 23C.

  According to the embodiment shown in Figure 13, this

  second vertebra 24D is housed in in the first vertebra 23D.

  These types of blades are inserted by sliding in flanges B, 30C, 30D made up of sections of shaped hollow profile

  complementary to the shape of the blade head 22B, 22C, 22D.

  Advantageously, this shape is trapezoidal. It can also be asymmetrical as shown in Figure 13 in order to be profiled aerodynamically. In the latter case, the metal vertebra 24D is offset relative to the plane of symmetry of the blade 20D in order to optimize

use of volume.

Claims (11)

  1. Arm (2) of a wiper blade intended to be mounted on a coach (1) for its drive in pivoting wiping, characterized in that it comprises at its front end a removable fixing arrangement intended for a arm extension bar (10) comprising at least one non-removable fixing point before a blade wiping (20).   2. Arm according to claim 1, characterized in that said removable fixing arrangement consists of a female interlocking element at said end of the arm and provided with a translation locking arrangement. 3. Arm according to claim 1 or 2, characterized in that it supports a   rear lifting beam (3A) carrying two fixing points (4A, 5A).   4. Arm according to claim 1 or 2, characterized in that it supports a   rear intermediate arm (3D) carrying a rear attachment point (4D).   5. Wiper blade wiper part intended to be mounted   removably on an arm according to one of the preceding claims,   comprising said blade (20), characterized in that it comprises said strip (10) provided with a complementary removable fixing arrangement at its rear end and a wiping blade (20) supported by said strip (10) by the at least one point non-removable fixing.   6. Wiping piece according to claim 5, characterized in that it comprises a front spreader (1 3A) articulated supporting two points of non-removable fixing (14A, 15A).   7. Wiping piece according to claim 5, characterized in that it comprises a rear arm (3B) integral with said bar (10B) and supporting a rear fixing point (4B) and a central lifting beam (5B)   carrying two fixing points (6B, 7B).   8. Wiping piece according to claim 5, characterized in that it comprises at least a first immovable fixing point (13C, 14C) near the front end of said bar and a second immovable fixing point (12C ) supported by a rear extension of said bar (10C).   9. Wiping piece according to claim 7 or 8, characterized in that it comprises a hinge near said arrangement of additional fixing.   10. Wiping piece according to one of claims 5 to 9, characterized in   that said complementary removable fixing arrangement consists of a pin (11) for interlocking with locking in translation (14).   11. Wiping piece according to one of claims 5 to 10, characterized   in that said wiping blade (20) comprises a vertebra of metal reinforcement (24).
