Abstract

A windshield wiper blade wiper blade assembly for vehicles includes a windshield wiper arm attachable to a windshield wiper drive in the region of one end thereof and at least one wiper blade provided at a free end of the windshield wiper arm. Such a wiper arm wiper blade assembly is known from FR 1 217 680 A known. The object of the invention is to develop a windshield wiper arm wiper blade assembly according to the preamble of claim 1 such that with a relatively small amount of material and a relatively simple construction in wiping operation a good and defined leadership of the wiper blade is achieved. This object is achieved in a windshield wiper arm wiper blade arrangement with the features of claim 1.

A special feature of the invention is that the wiper blade extends with its entire length along the wiper arm and is fastened with one end to the free end of the wiper arm, wherein the other end of the wiper blade is also held and guided on the wiper arm. The inventive construction basically requires no joint between the wiper arm and the wiper blade. Rather, the elasticity of the wiper strip is sufficient to achieve an optimal nestling of the wiper blade and the at least one wiper lip on the curved vehicle window and thus an optimum wiping result. With the construction according to the invention, however, a positive retention of the at least one wiper blade on the windscreen wiper arm is achieved, in particular in such a way that the undesirable "chattering" during wiping is avoided even with a prolonged use of the wiper blade.

In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the windshield wiper arm over its entire length or almost its entire length is formed with the hood or groove-like cross-sectional profile, whereby the windscreen wiper arm is particularly stable and torsionally rigid and also forms a cover for the at least one wiper blade in such a way in that this protrudes essentially only with its at least one wiper lip over the underside of the windscreen wiper arm facing the vehicle window.
