Abstract

Description

The invention relates to an autonomous security lighting unit.

  The function of such an appliance is to guarantee, in a building, minimum lighting during an emergency situation - fire, electrical failure while providing personnel undergoing this situation with useful indications such as the proximity of an exit. or the presence of a fire extinguisher. Such a block, which conventionally comprises a base in which is disposed at least one bulb and on which is mounted a transparent cover ensuring the protection of the bulb while letting the light pass, is connected to the sector and has an accumulator which ensures

  The bulb supply in the event of a mains failure.

  French patent application FR-2 765 660 in the name of the applicant, or its British equivalent GB-2 330 618, illustrate such a block

autonomous security lighting.

  The aforementioned indications are generally provided by means of a descriptive label presenting a pictogram or a group of words of the type

"emergency exit".

  Conventionally, such a label is self-adhesive, and is fixed by

  bonding on the cover of the block during the installation of the latter.

  This results in a number of disadvantages.

  First, the label forms an opaque mask in front of the bulb of the block which, on the one hand, greatly reduces the ambient luminosity which is nevertheless dramatically needed in the above-mentioned emergency situations and, on the other hand, makes

  difficult to read the indications carried by the label.

  Then, any change in signage requires taking off the label, which is tedious. One solution could be to have as many covers as there are different labels, but that solution is. at

  ['evidence, to be discarded because extremely expensive.

  It also happens that the label is stuck wrongly, which does not make it legible.

and to the general aesthetics of the block.

  Finally, it happens that, subject to dust and aging of its hesitant ad, the label peels off. what im im asking for a replacement and need

therefore sustained maintenance.

  The invention aims in particular to resolve the aforementioned drawbacks, by proposing an autonomous block of security lighting which provides clear and visible signage, which is of pleasant appearance, and which does not

  requires minimal maintenance.

  To this end, the invention provides an autonomous block of security lighting, comprising a base on which is mounted a transparent cover which comprises, on its internal face, means for the removable fixing of a label. Thus, it is possible to modify, according to the needs of the place, the signage employed, without the need to change the block or, at least, its cover. Furthermore, by using a translucent label, the visibility of the signage is considerably improved, to the benefit of the safety of the personnel. In addition, the label being inside the block, it is thus protected from dust, and allows easier cleaning of the block, which presents a

  smooth appearance which enhances its aesthetics.

  According to one embodiment, the internal face is curved, and the fixing means comprise at least two facing claws, which project from the internal face and wind conform to maintain ['label bent against the internal face.   In Figure 1 is shown an autonomous block of security lighting 1, intended to be fixed to a wall (not shown) to provide lighting

  as well as emergency signage.

  Block 1 includes a base 2 which integrates an accumulator (not shown) connected to the sector, and which presents one or more housings in

  which wind placed bulbs 4 electrically connected to the accumulator.

  In normal operation, it is the sector which ensures the electrical supply of the bulbs 4, while in the event of failure of the sector, this supply is provided by the accumulator which takes over and thus guarantees,

  until its complete discharge, the autonomy of block 1.

  A cover 5 is mounted on the base 2. This cover 5 is made of glass or of a transparent plastic, so as to allow the

light provided by the bulbs 4.

  The cover 5 comprises a cylindrical wall 6 in the form of a gutter, which extends in a longitudinal direction by covering the base 2, and which has an internal concave face 7, facing the base 2, and a face

external 8 opposite, convex.

  The cover 5 comprises, at the longitudinal ends 9, 10 of the wall 6, two facing flanges 11, 12 which extend transversely relative to

  the latter and which cover the longitudinal ends 13, 14 of the base 2.

  A descriptive label 15 carries a pictogram 16 or a written message intended for the personnel is fixed, in a removable way, on the

cover 5.

  More precisely, the label 15 is fixed on the internal face 7 of the cover, which comprises means suitable for allowing this removable fixing. These

  fixing means will be described below.

  As can be seen in Figure 1, we can see, label 15 by

  transparency through the cover 5.

  In order to allow the change of the label 15, or any intervention on the base 2, for example to replace a bulb 4 or to carry out the usual checks on the supply of the block 1, the cover 5 is mounted on the base 2 by means of a hinge 17, 18 whose axis A, A 'of

  rotation is parallel to a generator of the cylindrical wall 6.

  In fact, the block 1 comprises two distinct articulations 17, 18 of the cover 5 relative to the base 2, whose respective axes A, A 'wind parallel and adjoin the longitudinal edges 19, 20 of the wall 6, and which allow a

  opening of the cover 5 in two opposite opposite directions.

  According to an embodiment illustrated in Figures 1, 2a, each articulation 17, 18 is in the form of a hinge, which includes a pad of nipples 21, 22 coaxial provided at the ends 13,14 of the base 2, each proper to be accommodated in a hole 23, 24 practical in each of the flanges

  As it appears in FIGS. 2a and 2b, each lug 21, 22 is beveled, and has a cam surface 25 suitable for mounting by

  front snap on cover 5 on base 2.

  Thus, during assembly of the cover 5, the cam surface 25 abuts against an edge 26 of the flange 11, 12.11 then suffices to exert a slight pressure on the cover 5 so that the cam surface 25 spreads the flange 11, 12 thanks to the flexibility of the latter, until the pin 21, 22 is opposite the hole 23, 24 where it then comes to be housed while the flange 11, 12

  resumes its rest position by elasticity.

  When mounting the cover 5, the lug 21, 22 thus acts in the manner of a bolt, while the hole 23, 24 correspond acts in the manner of a strike. To open the cover 5 by rotating it around one 17 (respectively, 18) of its hinges, it suffices, on the side of the other hinge 18 (respectively, 17), to momentarily move aside the flanges 11, 12 to do

  remove the studs 21, 22 from their holes 23, 24, then lift the cover 5.

  It is therefore possible to choose the direction of opening of the cover 5, according to the position and the orientation in which the block 1 is located, which facilitates any intervention on the latter, and in particular the replacement of

['label 15.

  The means for fixing the label 15 comprise at least two claws 27, 28 facing each other which project from the internal face 7, with which they define two grooves 29, 30 facing each other, with a V section, in each of which comes

  accommodate a longitudinal edge 31, 32 of the label 15.

  According to an embodiment illustrated in FIG. 2a, two pads of claws 27, 28 facing the expected wind, so as to ensure transverse support

label farm 15.

  The label 15, meanwhile, is made of an elastically flexible material. It is for example PVC, the pictogram 16 or the message being

produced by screen printing.

  The distance of the longest course separating the bottom of the grooves 29, 30 opposite is less than the width of the label 15 (that is to say the distance separating its

longitudinal edges 31, 32).

  On the other hand, the curvilinear distance D, measured along the curved internal face 7 of the cover 5, separating the bottom of the grooves 29, 30 opposite, is

  substantially equal to the width of the label 15.

  To attach the label 15 to the cover 5, just the broker and come

  introduce its longitudinal edges 31, 32 into the grooves 29, 30 opposite.

  The label 15 then adopts a configuration convex relative to the internal, concave face 7 of the cover 5. This configuration is illustrated in lines

  It then suffices to deform the label 15 in the bottom, cant towards the internal wall 7. This movement is illustrated in FIG. 5 by the arrow F.   The choice of the ratio d between the distances d and D conditions not only D the ease of mounting the label 15, but also the holding of

this on the cover 5.

  This ratio D is a direct function of the angular opening a, measured relative to the center of curvature O of the cylindrical wall 6, separating

  the bottom of the grooves 29, 30 opposite.

  Thus, when the angular opening a is measured in radians, the ratio -is provided by the following formula: D d = 2 D a and, when the angular opening a is measured in degree, this ratio D is provided by the formula following: d = 2 D to 11 is preferable that the angular opening a is between 50 and

   , which amounts to choosing the ratio D between 91% and 97%.

  We will choose for example an angular opening equal to about 67,

  which corresponds to a D ratio of around 94.4%.

  Furthermore, in order to ensure longitudinal maintenance of the label 15, two ribs 33 34 are also provided projecting from the internal face, against

  which ['label 15 abuts, by its transverse edges 35, 36.

  The ribs 33, 34 thus limit the movement of the label 15 in

  Preventing it from sliding longitudinally relative to the cover 5.

  Taking into account the materials chosen for the cover 5 and the label 15, it may happen that the latter adheres to the internal wall 7 due to the static electricity which can appear between them. This adhesion is also favored by the heat which emanates from the bulbs 4 and which tends to cause a

dilation of the label 15.

  In order to avoid such adhesion, the internal face 7 may have, in a median zone 37 situated between the claws 27, 28, a recess 38 which ensures in this zone 37, between the internal wall 7 and the label 15, the presence of an air layer which facilitates the removal of the label 15, in particular for its

  replacement by another label carry a dim sign.

  In place of or in addition to this recess 38, the internal wall 7 can be provided, in this central zone 37, with a projecting pin 39 which forms a stop

  against which is applied ['label 15.

  This pin 39 maintains the label 15 slightly apart from the internal wall 7, which avoids the adhesion of the label 15 to the internal wall 7 and thus facilitates its removal. Furthermore, a translucent label 15 will preferably be used in order to allow good diffusion of the light emitted by the bulbs 4 and

  facilitate the perception of signage by staff.

Claims (9)

  1. Autonomous security lighting unit, comprising a base (2) on which is mounted a transparent cover (5), characterized in that said cover (5) comprises, on its internal face (7), means (27 , 28) for the removable attachment of a label (15). 2. Block according to claim 1, characterized in that the internal face (7) is curved, and in that the fixing means comprise at least two claws (27, 28) facing each other, which project from the internal face (7 ) and wind conform   to keep the label curved against the internal face (7).   3. Block according to claim 2, characterized in that the internal face (7) has, in a zone (37) located between the claws (27, 28), a recess (38). 4. Block according to claim 2 or 3, characterized in that the internal face (7) is provided, in a zone (37) located between the claws (27, 28), with a projecting pin (39), which forms a stop against which is applied label (15).   5. Block according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that   that the cover (5) is mounted on the base (2) by means of a joint (17, 18). 6. Block according to claim 5, characterized in that the cover (5) is articulated relative to the base (2) along two axes (A, A ') of separate pivoting. 7. Block according to claim 6, characterized in that said axes (A, A ') of parallel wind pivoting.   8. Block according to one of claims 5 to 7, characterized in that the   base (2) is provided with a pad of nipples (21, 22) coaxioux each suitable for being housed in a practical hole (23, 24) in the cover (5) to form said articulation (17, 18).   9.
