Abstract

The seat consists of a flexible panel (9) to take a person's weight fitted to two cross-members (8) connected to an upright (1) on each side. The uprights and cross-members can be made e.g. from aluminium, carbon, wood or fibre glass, and the uprights, which are about 2 m long, have rubber tips (2) on their ends for protection and adhesion. The uprights and cross-members are connected by metal joints (4), and tensioned steel cables (5) provide rigidity. In a variant the cross-members can be hinged in the middle for folding.
