Abstract

The invention relates to a support for riding saddles, and more particularly to a support designed to allow the transport of one or more riding saddles and their storage before or after use. The support according to the invention comprises an element (1) composed of two perforated side panels (2) connected by their respective upper parts to two solid panels (3) joining together to form a roof, said side panels (2) comprising a wide inverted U-shaped cutout, forming an opening (4) narrowing towards the bottom of the panel, so as to form an enlarged foot at each end of the panel. To transport or store several saddles, it will suffice to complete the support by superimposing one or more elements (1) on a base element.

SUPPORT FOR RIDING SADDLES

  The present invention relates to a support for riding saddles, and more particularly a support designed to allow the transport of one or more

  several riding saddles and their storage before or after use.

  For the practice of riding, the rider must use a saddle which is positioned on the horse's back, and which is composed of a leather part of a certain size, supplemented by a holding device constituted

straps and straps.

  Both for reasons of comfort and safety, the set has both a certain volume and a certain weight, which does not facilitate its

  However, these are fixed devices, which are permanently mounted inside the truck and which therefore do not allow the transport, either of one or more saddles independently of the whole, or the storage of

  According to this modality, if one wishes to use only part of the saddles which have been transported, it is necessary to detach them and take them out of the truck, then to dispose them in places and under conditions

  which are not always appropriate.

  Another problem that is frequently encountered by horse riding practitioners is the storage of saddles before putting them on the

  horse or after their removal from the back of the animal.

  The sites reserved for the practice of horse riding are not equipped with devices to store the saddles in conditions likely to

  maintain the hygiene or integrity of the equipment.

  Most often, the saddles are simply placed on the ground or in any available location depending on the configuration of the place. There also exists the risk that they will be damaged as a result of

  shock, or overturned, or even stained or soiled.

  The present invention proposes to remedy the drawbacks mentioned above by providing a support allowing the transport of one or more riding saddles as well as their storage before or after use. For this purpose, the invention is characterized in that the support is made up of superimposed modular elements, interconnected by means of angles, the assembly comprising gripping means allowing

its displacement.

  - Figure 1 is an elevational view of a support according to the invention, comprising two modular elements, and - Figure 2 is a detail view of an upright of a modular element shown in Figure 1. With reference in the accompanying drawings, and more particularly in FIG. 1, the device according to the invention comprises an element (1) comprising four panels. The element (1) is composed of two perforated side panels (2) connected by their respective upper parts to two solid panels (3)

joining to form a roof.

  The side panels (2) have a large inverted U cutout, forming an opening to the base. The opening (4) tapers towards the bottom of the panel (2), so as to form an enlarged foot at each

end of said panel.

  Advantageously, the openings (4) made in the side panels (2) have a rounded shape so as to eliminate the presence of angles which could injure or at least annoy the user during

moving the support.

  At each upper corner (5) of the element (1), there is a metal profile in the form of an angle (6), extending upwards, beyond

  of the angle formed by the side panel (2) and the roof panel (3).

  The protruding angles (6) act both as a reinforcement and as a support for the box, and act as a guide for the positioning of the elements

  of the support, as will be explained later.

  The upper edges of the roof panels (3) meet to form an angle and are joined by means of a retaining bar (7), ensuring

  a function that is both aesthetic, reinforcing and gripping.

  The first element (1) thus constituted already makes it possible to fulfill the object of

  the invention, namely the transport or storage of a riding salt.

  Indeed, to use this element, it will suffice to have the saddle on top of the element (1), the sides coming to rest on either side of the

  panels (3) forming the roof, which will thus avoid any contact with the ground.

  Advantageously, the reinforcing bar (7) connecting the upper parts of the roof panels (3) will have a rounded shape so as to avoid any angle which could damage the interior surface.

  To transport the saddle once it has been placed on the support, it suffices to grip the assembly, for example through the openings (4) of the side walls (2), which are of sufficient size to allow a

  gripping and easy movement.

  Advantageously, the first element (1), that is to say the one placed at the base of the support, can receive four boards (8a) partially closing its sides and a bottom board (8b), so as to form

thus a box (8).

  The box (8) can serve as a storage box for various accessories used by the rider, such as a towel or

  brushes, which will avoid any risk of loss or soiling.

  If you wish to transport or store several saddles, it will suffice to complete the support by superimposing one or more elements (1) on the base element. We will start by placing the saddles on the roof panels (3), then we will arrange the elements (1) on top of each other from

the basic element.

  The different elements are thus associated by simple embotation without

  According to a preferred embodiment, the perforated side walls (2) of each element (1) are very logically reentrant, that is to say that they have an angle between 0.1 and 0.2 relative to the vertical plane . Thanks to this feature, the embedding of the elements (1) one on the

others is facilitated.

  When the support is intended to be used for transport, we will only be limited by the dimensions of the assembly formed by the superimposed elements (1),

  the weight of the assembly or the size of the vehicle used for transport.

  When it is simply a question of storing the saddles, there will be no other limits to the superposition of the different elements than the dimensions of the

local where they will be stored.

  Although the elements (1) are designed to be superimposed on each other from a basic element, nothing would prevent the use of such a

  single element for transporting or storing a single saddle.

  In this case, the user would simply no longer benefit from the storage box (8). Another advantage of the present invention is that the roof walls (3) of each element (1) have a surface which allows the affixing of any decorative or personalization element according to the wishes of the user.

  For transport, the assembly formed by the various elements (1) superimposed by means of screws (9) engaged on two opposite corners (10) of each element (1) and cooperating with threaded fixing sleeves (11) inserted in correspondence on the element (1) placed immediately above. As illustrated in FIG. 27, each projecting angle iron (6) has in its upper part an orifice (16) of diameter corresponding to that of the screw (9) used. A plate (12) having in its lower part an orifice (13) inside which is housed the threaded sleeve (11) is arranged in the lower part of the element (1) in the extension of the

angle iron (6).

  During the superposition, the passage orifice (16) located in the upper part of the element (1) below comes in correspondence with the orifice (13) receiving the socket of the metal plate (12) affixed on the

  amount of the element (1) above.

  Then just insert the screw (9) and lead it to its locking position, then repeat the same operation on the opposite side of

  the assembly for securing the two superimposed elements (1).

  It is thus possible to superimpose and secure the desired number of elements, the only limit in fact residing in the height of the assembly produced by

  relative to the transport vehicle or to the place of storage.

  According to a preferred embodiment, provision is made to insert an additional threaded sleeve (14) in the middle part of each

  element (1), on the side receiving the fixing sleeve (11).

  This allows the fixing screw (9) to be stored when not in use

  to secure two superimposed elements (1).

  According to an alternative embodiment, provision can be made to stiffen the association of the two roof panels (3) by arranging at least one element.

  According to an advantageous embodiment, there will be a triangular piece (15) at each of the two ends of the roof so that they can also fulfill a gripping function in addition to

  The above description shows that the invention achieves the

  goals sought by means of a limited number of constituent elements.

  With very few assembly or shaping operations, a device is produced which is both practical and aesthetic, making it possible to transport or store riding saddles without risk of damage or soiling. The invention is not limited to the embodiment given above by way of nonlimiting example. In particular, dimensions and materials

  may vary without departing from the scope of the invention.

  The invention may equally be carried out using wood, metal or injected or molded plastics, without this

  calls into question the innovative features described above.

Claims (10)

  1. Support for riding saddles, characterized in that it comprises an element (1) composed of two perforated side panels (2) connected by their respective upper parts to two solid panels (3) meeting to form a roof, said side panels (2) having a large inverted U cutout, forming an opening (4) tapering towards the bottom of the panel, so as to form an enlarged foot at each end of said panel.   2. Support according to claim 1, characterized in that the openings (4) made in the side panels (2) have a rounded shape only with no angles.   3. Support according to one of claims 1 or 2, characterized in that it   comprises a metal angle (6) disposed at each upper corner (5) of the element (1), said angle extending upwards, beyond   the angle formed by the side panel (2) and the roof panel (3).   4. Support according to any one of the preceding claims,   characterized in that it comprises a retaining bar (7) covering   the angle formed by the upper edges of the roof panels (3).   5. Support according to claim 4, characterized in that the bar (7)   has a rounded shape without an angle.   6. Support according to any one of the preceding claims,   characterized in that the element (1) placed at the base of the support comprises four boards (8a) partially closing its sides and a board   bottom (8b), together forming a box (8) for storage.   7. Support according to any one of the preceding claims,   characterized in that the perforated side walls (2) of each element (1) are re-entrant at an angle between 0.1 and 0.2 relative to the vertical. 9 2830523   8. Support according to any one of the preceding claims,   characterized in that the support is secured during its transport by means of screws (9) engaged on two opposite corners (10) of each element (1) and cooperating with threaded sockets (11) for fixing inserted in correspondence on the element (1) placed immediately above. 9 Support according to claim 8, characterized in that an additional threaded sleeve (14) is inserted in the middle part of each   element (1), on the side receiving the fixing sleeve (11).   10. Support according to any one of the preceding claims,   characterized in that at least one triangular element (15) is arranged   in the angle formed by the roof panels (3).
